Liverpool Preview

Yet again we go to Anfield as the underdogs , a strange circumstance as for so many years they were also rans. FairPlay to the LFC BoD for investing hundreds of millions into the playing staff and then signing such an in demand manager.

It has to be said that most of the hundreds of millions have been wasted but if I were a Scouse, I wouldn’t give a monkeys as Liverpool have also signed a few gems; Mane, Coutinho, Firmino, Can, Lallana and Wijnaldum are all fine players. Sturridge, despite being a bit of a girl, is hugely talented and Salah is quality. They specialise in counter-attack and our defence will be tested.

Defensively they can be shaky but Klopp adheres to the Micky philosophy of football –  score more than the opposition.

Arsenal will be seething after losing a very winnable game last weekend; a stupid defensive error and a lack of composure in front of goal lost us 3 valuable points. Especially as the following two games are away to two Top 4 clubs.

However, we have some fine men returning to the first team – Koscielny  and Sanchez are probably our two best players. We have missed them

The Mustafi business is odd and if he is really going to Italy then it would be a surprise to see him play today. I hope he stays but if we are to sign a better defender then Bye Bye Shkodran.

Team selection is not easy to predict, will AW stay with the Back 3 or play a little more safe and include more defensive wing-backs. I think he will

My Team;

Mustafi    Koscielny    Monreal

Bellerin    Xhaka     Ramsey    Kolisinac

Lacazette     Sanchez

This is a tasty team. No Ox, no Theo, no Iwobi or OG, nor a Welbz, but when playing away from home against a team that knocked 7 passed us (in 2 games) it is balanced. We have a superb bench

Of course there is the YNWA factor but if we can keep them at bay for an hour Anfield can become as much a Library as the Emirates.

I have to be honest and say I would be delighted with a point,

What the heck is going on Erik? 7 something am!

Anyway, thank you very much. Fine read.

Last week I honestly thought Arsene had seen the light when he selected a dwarf, an elf and a pixie to start as defenders, and now you suggest he deploys proper backs. I don’t know

I hope Sanchez wants to play for us with all his heart and soul. I’m not confident about that.

Anyway, bloody disaster at this end, Mrs Didit’s Birthday and chances of me seeing the game are not at all good. Desperately need rain to stop play around 2pm

  2. Oh no my comment’s on the end of the last post …… blogging from under the duvet doesn’t always work 😉

  3. Worked it out …….

Raddy you do know it’s only just after 7am in the U.K. ……… and it’s Sunday 😉

Your team looks amazing, I hope it’s the one AW picks, if they can stay fit they would be frightening long term. Obviously a new CB if Mustafi goes but will he play if he’s caused bad feeling in the dressing room?

Have several hours to while away before 4pm, hope it’s sunny 😁

  4. Morning Micky, agree with you about the teeny tinies playing in defence against Stoke where obviously we were going to score and they weren’t – that was the plan anyway. But L’pool do actually have a goal threat so I’d choose big ones at the back.

Mind you today we have teeny tinies up front 😂

  5. mickydidit89 says:

Hoping for 2-2 at 67 mins, and then the cavalry arrive

  6. Eddie says:

thank you Raddy, it feels really reassuring to have your PM before a game, return to normal.

Their counter attacking bothers me, how on earth can we defend against a formidable Liverpool force? I am not sure we can.

And how can we score more than the Scoucers when we couldn’t put 1 against Stoke??

It all looks bad, but do you know what? I have a good feeling about this game. I think we will thrash them. I was hoping that Mayweather would send the cocky Mick licking his wounds and it happened. Thousands of disappointed Paddies and money well spent for my son, terrific. Now, time to demolish the LFC, come on you Gunners

  7. Eddie says:

and if Sanchez is not playing will Ollie start? or useless Theo/Welbeck? And where is Perez?

  8. mickydidit89 says:

Pretty sure it would be Danny who is excellent with the runs, passes, pressing and generally a bloody nuisance for defenders

He wears them out, Gorgeous takes the bow

  9. Zee says:

Morning Mickish, and Happy Birthday to the Mrs. 😀

I have to say I agree with you that most people thought AW had discovered a Eureka moment when he introduced a Dwarf, a Pixie and an Elk into his plans.

The Elk particularly was simple genius.

  10. LB says:

Love that team but I still reckon the Ox will get a political starting berth.

  11. GoonerB says:

Morning Raddy and thanks. I am expecting a sterling performance to put our season on track. Nothing bit a win is good enough. Like others I think AW got it wrong with defence last week. I think you need a proper 6 foot plus CD as a mainstay in the side in the EPL. Your team looks better Raddy but it is still a small defence. May not be as much of a problem with pool though who tend to play with speed and mobility on the deck rather then whip many balls in from wide so our smaller quicker ones may be righy for today. In the long run we need a VVD or merts or holding need to be able to hold down a 1st 11 position.

  12. chas says:

    Cheers, BR.
    I’m hoping we win.

Did we really get overrun by Stoke last week with a dwarf, an elf and a pixie starting in defence?
They scored a good goal on the break, the ref was awful and our finishing appalling.
In actual fact, I’d say we lost the game at the attacking end of the team.

  13. LB says:

    Are we really underdogs today?

    Hmmmm, not sure about that…………..

  14. goonerjake says:

I’m confident of any game when mike dean IS NOT reffing

  15. goonerjake says:

    Atkinson today I believe

  16. Red Arnie says:

lovely curtain raiser, Raddy. 🙂 COYG.

Will miss the game. Unfortunately, last day of the Fringe takes priority. Sad.

  17. goonerjake says:

    Sanchez to start 👍

    Laca to the bench 👎

    I would bench welbeck

  18. fatgingergooner says:

On one hand, what is Wenger doing? Dropping a £50m striker to the bench and shoehorning Ox into the side when we have a perfectly good LWB in Kolasinac sat on the bench.

On the other hand, it makes perfect sense that Wenger wants players in the team who will know the pace of this match and the effort needed to get a good result. Maybe the new lads are still getting used to the speed of the PL. Also, can we afford to have Özil and Lacazette playing together when we are going to have to work hard from the front to stop Liverpool playing? I’d rather have Welbs and Sanchez closing defending from the attacking positions and it gives us pace on the counter.

I wonder which hand will be proved right!?

  19. GunnerN5 says: seems to have crashed so I can’t get the official team selection but here is what I remember from what I’ve seen on TV.

    No Kosi, Laca.

    Ox, Ramsey, Xhaka
    Ozil, Sanchez and Welbeck
    Cech Holding and Koscielny

  20. fatgingergooner says:

If we are well in the game with 30 minutes left then the fact Liverpool played a very similar side midweek could be a big factor in our favour. Bringing on the likes of Lacazette and Giroud at that stage could be vital.

  21. Big Raddy says:

I do not like Bellerin on the left. Nor Welbeck at CF – damn he just missed a fine chance

  22. Rasp says:

Can anyone explain why we would play Welbeck at CF when he can’t hit a cow’s arse with a banjo? Too much tinkering with the side. Looks like we’re destined for another season when Wenger doesn’t know his best 11

  23. fatgingergooner says:

How is it that every time Xhaka gives ball away it results in a goal!?

What I just saw there with Özil and the team is a disgrace. Gives the ball away and nobody interested and just walking around. Should be 2-0 down. Shocking.

  24. fatgingergooner says:

40 yard long ball and Salah one on one with Monreal in the box! Too easy.

  25. fatgingergooner says:

We need to change system here and put another body in the middle. The 3 of Liverpool are embarrassing our 2. It’s easy to say Ramsey and Xhaka have been shocking but they have nobody to pass to when they have the ball and are outnumbered without it.

  26. fatgingergooner says:

We just gave the ball away on the edge of their box and our whole midfield is in front of the ball! It’s so bad it’s laughable!!!

  27. We are dreadful 😦

  28. fatgingergooner says:

We have a team with nobody interested in facing their own goal and defending.

  29. fatgingergooner says:

  30. Our midfield is Xhaka, Ramsey alongside him is pointless

  31. Rasp says:

Is the game on a TV? …. I can’t find it?

  32. Gööner In Exile says:

I have said for years if the focus is only ever on the manager then the players get away scot free

Thankfully Gary Neville is attacking the players unmercilessly. That was an appalling half of football, doesn’t matter what team, what tactics what formation if the players are not prepared to look at themselves while collecting their fat pay checks then nothing will ever improve.

  33. Eddie says:

we’d better come back a different team for the second half or there will be slaughter. Embarrassing to say the least

  34. fatgingergooner says:

Exactly Peaches. Stood on his own in the middle, and when they scored the second he was on the edge of their box and still had 4 or 5 Arsenal players in front of him! How is that even possible!?

Absolutely no direction or tactics. Just a team of players with different agendas who have no idea how to play as a unit. One player closes down and nobody follows him. Someone gets the ball and every runs away. Players playing out of position. A striker who can’t finish when we have a goal scorer on the bench. Unbelievable.

  35. Big Raddy says:

Hardly a player who can say he is playing well.

The experiment of the back 3 looks in tatters at the moment. Ox is no defender and Bellerin has not added a jot to the left side of attack.

Had Welbeck been a striker we would have been one up and the game different.

Could be a very unpleasant second half as Liverpool look a class above in every area of the pitch, especially in organisation.

  36. How’s he gonna change it?

  37. fatgingergooner says:

I could rant for hours about that first half but the manager and players don’t seem to care so whats the point. Fucking shambles from all of them and no sign of improvement. Spend £500m it would be the same as the attitude within the club is all wrong. Top players allowed to leave on free’s, a manager who doesn’t know his team, players who don’t understand tactics or how to manage a game when out on the pitch.

Can it get worse second half?

  38. fatgingergooner says:

Wenger lost the plot. Our full backs are actual full backs! 😂

  39. fatgingergooner says:

Better start but need a goal

  40. Big Raddy says:

Coquelin for Ramsey. Is this what we are reduced to?

  41. fatgingergooner says:

Ox off Lacazette on when it gets to an hour

  42. mickydidit89 says:

    Ok, just back
    No Lacazette!
    The comeback 🙂

  43. fatgingergooner says:

  44. More difficult comeback now 😦

  45. fatgingergooner says:

Holding needs saving from himself. Wenger needs to take him off.

  46. mickydidit89 says:

    massive shitballs

  47. Big Raddy says:

That is one of the worst goals I have seen us concede.

  48. fatgingergooner says:

When he said Wenger making a double change part of me is hoping he subs himself and Bould for some decent managers! 😂

  49. Rasp says:

The problems are the same we have seen for many years now and for that the manager has to take responsibility. We overplay and value possession over penetration. Last week’s stats of Stoke winning with 27% possession say it all. If Bellerin hadn’t had it drummed into him to pass pass pass, he would have put that ball back into the box …. instead he tried to take a risky touch (because obviously no one would tackle him in training)

  50. Big Raddy says:

Liverpool scoring from our corner is not overplaying, it is rank bad organization

If BR, who is no tactician, can say in his post that Lpool are excellent on the counter how can AW not keep 3 defenders behind the ball?

  51. fatgingergooner says:

Has Arsene got to leave for this to improve? Certainly feels that way.

  52. Rasp says:

No Raddy, but trying to beat a player when there are no defenders behind you is overplaying. Montreal and Bellerin were both guilty of that

  53. fatgingergooner says:

So flimsy. Where’s the tackles? Where’s the marking? Where’s the interest from our players? Oh, that’s right, we were too busy attacking to bother running back.

  54. fatgingergooner says:

Holding petrified whenever he gets the ball. Total loss of confidence and shouldn’t be playing, but not his fault. Why not stick the £35m German international we have on the bench in the team?

  55. Big Raddy says:

I realise AW is damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t but at 3 down why bring on 2 CF’s? Why not just the one and perhaps, just perhaps, allow young Holding to have a rest from a torrid afternoon and bring on a full back?

  56. fatgingergooner says:

In Rugby League they have a stat which is Missed Tackles. I’d love to see how many of those we had today. We look incapable of tackling and actually coming away with the ball.

  57. Big Raddy says:

Thank goodness Coutinho didn’t play 😀

  58. fatgingergooner says:

Neville just hit the nail on the head. Teams who are down at the bottom of the league work their tails off in defence. This Arsenal team isn’t good enough to not have to do the same. No excuse in how little they work in defence.

  59. fatgingergooner says:

Thank god Ramsey didn’t play second half!

  60. fatgingergooner says:

Would normally laugh at Burnleys equaliser but too busy laughing at our awful team. That was a joke. Only reason I watched until the end is to hear Wengers pathetic excuses.

  61. mickydidit89 says:

So glad I only did the second half

  62. Big Raddy says:

It has to be said that L’pool played very well.

  63. fatgingergooner says:

In the 3 PL games we’ve played we’ve been in the lead for a total of 8 minutes!

  64. Those players need to get together and thrash out what they think is wrong, starting with a few taking some responsibility for their position. Go back to basics.

  65. fatgingergooner says:

Believe it or not that was the better of the 2 halves!

  66. fatgingergooner says:

The coaching, effort and attitude is what is wrong. Why can’t they run around and be organised like a Tony Pulis team is? The players are talented enough to win this league, but if they can’t be arsed defending or working for each other then the talent is wasted.

It’s a bad sign when the supposedly better players don’t want to commit to the club. I say get rid of them all and bring in people who work hard and have a bit of attitude about them. Sick to death of Özil walking around and Ramsey wandering out of position. Ox constantly has his head down, and as much as I love Sanchez his situation isn’t helping us. Get them all out and start again, including the manager and his useless assistant.

  67. GunnerN5 says:

Well only one thing makes me happy about that performance – it can only go up hill from here.

From this point forwards the standouts need to be left out. It’s now time to start concentrating on our future – even if it means playing our outstanding under 23′- it cannot be any worse than than today.

  68. fatgingergooner says:

Isn’t that the point though? The players know they will be in the line up again next week or the week after. Far too comfortable.

  69. LB says:

Men against boys, awful, just awful.

I just want to say a word in Ramsey’s defense.

That is the third game on the trot that Xhaka has made a school boy error and given the ball away from which in each of the three games we have conceded.

During the commentary Neville tried to blame Ramsey for the first goal but I fail to see why. We had possession and Ramsey rightly moved into space to receive the ball, Xhaka lost it, Liverpool scored and somehow it became Ramsey’s fault that we conceded.

Xhaka offers about as much of a shield to the defense as a wet paper bag and offers nothing by way of attack.

Start with Xhaka and Coquelin, very defensive but hay ho

Start with Coquelin and Ramsey a defensive shield and attacking threat.

But don’t start with Xhaka and Ramsey against the top teams because what happened today will happen again.

Can’t wait for the window to close and Wenger might start choosing his starting lineup on merit not out of fear that a player left out might leave.

Oxlaide-Chamberlain — sign, leave, I don’t care, but get on the bench where you belong FFS.

  70. Red Arnie says:

dear oh dear oh dear. hmmm. doom.

  71. Agree wholeheartedly fgg and GN5 – have a team of players that
    a. want to play for The Arsenal

    b. want to play for each other.

What we just witnessed was disgraceful, did we even have a shot on target. How do you expect to score otherwise?

How can it have come to this? This is the same team that destroyed Chelsea in the FA cup final!!!!!

  72. fatgingergooner says:

Interesting that Wenger said that it was absolutely disastrous and that there were some reasons behind the performance. I think LB has touched on something with regards players being chosen for non-footballing reasons. He obviously wants Ox to stay and is shoehorning him into the side. I also think that there are issues with Mustafi, otherwise he wouldve started today, and possibly Bellerin aswell otherwise surely Kolasinac would be in the team. Its too late now to sort out these situations so it looks like a very difficult season ahead. How the club has allowed this whole situation with contracts to come about though is disgusting.

  73. LB says:

It’s actually not exactly the same side that destroyed Chelsea in the final.

  74. LB says:

Your right, the Ox is the obvious one but Bellerin on the left seems to have got slightly less flack but it deserves just as much.

There were no reasons what so ever for not having a really solid defense today enabling us to control the game and build from there instead — that team selection was all over the place.

  75. Rasp says:

I think it comes down to training and culture. I see what FGG means when he describes our fragmented midfield strolling back rather than busting a gut to take up defensive duties. We frequently have too many players ahead of the ball. For a quick incisive attack, players have to be able to run on to the ball not become static and wait for it.

There is only one way to treat the players after a performance like that …. give them a massive bollocking and let them know that if any of them put in a similar performance again they’ll be dropped and some of our young under 23s will get a chance.

They should all donate their wages to charity today because they certainly didn’t earn them … and that includes Arsene who now seems to think the only way to win when we’re behind is to put as many strikers as possible on the pitch when in reality it is our midfield that continues to misfire.

  76. fatgingergooner says:

If you analyse it and take the emotion out, it’s the same issues that crop up that we’ve had for a while now that haven’t been sorted.

    1. If Welbeck could finish we go 1-0 up and it’s a different game. How long have we needed a world class striker? Well, we could argue we finally have one, but if he doesn’t play then it’s the same issue as previous.

    2. A partner for Koscielny. Merts did a good job for a while and we were pretty solid for 18 months until he had some injuries. Since then we’ve had Chambers, Gabriel, Holding, Mustafi, Monreal and no doubt others I’ve forgotten, but none of them have been good enough. We’ve even tried adding an extra body and that hasn’t worked. It’s still a problem and it needs fixing if we have any hope of progress.

    3. We empty midfield too easily and leave ourselves short at the back. I don’t believe you need to brick walls in midfield to be a good side, regardless of what experts say, but you must be disciplined and you must be able to cover ground quickly. We just haven’t got this right and the Xhaka/Ramsey partnership isn’t the answer against big teams.

    4. Does our number 10 position give us enough to warrant being excused defensive duties? Özil is a quality player but unless we get points 1,2 and 3 right then he’s a liability at times. Another area that hasn’t been corrected.

    5. Defensive attitude of the team. How long have we been moaning about the defensive attitude? We know Wenger likes to attack and in order to do that he has to have ball players, but that doesn’t mean they should shirk defensive responsibility. Liverpool looked pretty good in attack today and we never troubled their goal. The balance just isn’t right.

  77. You’re right LB, Mertesacker was missing and anyone else?

  78. mickydidit89 says:

During the first 45, how committed to the cause was Sanchez?

  79. wally says:

Groundhoug Day v. 8.0 isn’t it. Glad I didn’t waste my time watching this clown car. Had a great 3 hour bike ride with the wife thru the countryside.

    An observation and a question.

The fish rots from the head.

    What league is below Europa?

  80. Eddie says:

sanchez looked very committed. If he played we would probably lose 6 nil. All he wanted to do is go to the park with his dogs

  81. Big Raddy says:

Ox was dreadful but is being asked to do a job he is not trained for.

Today was the third game in a row when the opposition scored from a simple low cross from the right. Holding is no FB, neither is Ox.

Time to stop arseing about and play players in their natural positions and buy a proper DM

  82. Oz gunner says:

This team is a joke at the moment. How did it get to this? Players wanting out, refusing to work for each other, zero organisation…do the players strike during the week or something?

The worst part of it is no one is surprised at the result.

Where is the leadership? At least when players left before Arteta and Mertz reigned everyone in. Who is doing that now? Complacency has taken root long ago and this team is rotting from the inside out.

Arsene should not have re-signed. He’s clearly lost this squad. It’s only going to get worse if players like ox, sanchez, mustafi and co stay when they don’t want to be here. WTF is going on with the mustafi situation? He’s only bloody been here a year. Need answers on that one.

  83. 1979Gunner says:

I hate repeating myself but why is it the same bullshit every year. Already 6 points behind, total uncertainty about who is staying and who is going – after the season has started – is beyond comprehension. Arsenal have become a joke of a club and Wenger & Cronke need chased. Pathetic.

  84. RC78 says:

The line up gave the 4 goals away…the players and the coach have to seriously rethink their commitment and competencies. You can’t play at Liverpool without playing a solid 5 in the middle of the park (Ox, Ramsey, coquelin, xhaka, Sanchez) and a striker that is strong in the air (OG). Then you can not omit Koli from the line up either. I was appalled by Ramsey, xhaka, Sanchez and Ozil as well as holding…

  85. Jnyc says:

I’ve been saying it to everyone, blogs, twitter, friends. Since early last season, something is very wrong at this club.

  86. RC78 says:

We can’t play Xhaka-Ramsey – it s not solid enoUgh. We need a DM fast and a CB. I would also say to sell Ozil

  87. Gööner In Exile says:

There’s a lot of teams struggling to get the players in/out settled, well at least the teams up in the top 4-7, Spuds haven’t exactly had a mega window, Coutinho hangs unbalance at Pool, United resigned Ibrahimovich even though he won’t be fit for some time, andChavs can’t sort out the Costa issue. The main difference with us and them seems to be that we are trying to be too clever.

Leave them out until they commit. And in the mean time allow others to try and prove we are good enough without them.

That’s what I saw from Liverpool today, but in reality their front three and midfield had it far too easy..

FGGs 2,3 and 4 above are spot on and all linked. Whilst slaughtering the players today Neville was led by Tyler to criticise Arsene Wenger with something along the lines of the team reflect the manager (in praise of Klopp and Liverpool) and then going on to suggest the same may be true of Arsenal. Neville stoppped him straight away. “This isn’t what an Arsene Wenger side look or play like” and then went on to explain that an Arsene Wenger side can pass the ball through the midfield, something this team appears to be incapable of.

But all that stems from workrate and desire to do the right things. Ok Rambo was moving into space on their fist goal, but he was also having a conversation with Hector that was continuing after we gave the ball away. I like Ramsey a lot but that’s schoolboy stuff, what are you taught from day one, switch on when balls in play, keep body open to play and make sure you know where the ball is, where your man is and be goalside, ballside. I think the only reason he turns round is because the crowd noise picks up and he is way out of position before he even realised we are in danger.

Rambo and Ozil cannot play in the same centre midfield, one has to be wide, in the 3-5-2 that either has to be Ramsey or neither.

I fear Ivan’s old gambit that the club could survive without CL money is now an open problem. Mustafi rested (on bench) to avoid injury in advance of a deal?

Alexis will be sold no matter what injured or not, especially after today’s performance, I think that was clearly a trial to see whether he could commit to the team even if we force him to stay, I’m afraid we got our answer.

Everyone focussed on Ozil but seriously if we want him in the side to create goals then we shouldn’t have to expect him to cover back and why should he when the players actually tasked with being defenders or defensive midfielders seem to disregard their duties all game.

Hector Bellerin, sort yourself out, remember what got you in the team in the first place, and it certainly wasn’t just running up the right wing all game or trying a ridiculous touch when you are the last man 90 yards from our own goal. You actually used to defend, you actually used to make better decisions in 50:50’s and play safe first.

Right on to the fact that we can no longer play through midfield, there are a few very simple reasons:

    1) wing backs far to high up pitch meaning their high press can focus on ball and doesn’t even have to be a hard press. You need width across back line to make channels into the. Midfield.
    2) Xhaka is not Zidane, this goes back to 1 but also Ramsey and the other forwards who seem to want to play so high before the ball has even left our half. That means invariably he is looking for some slide rule pass to keep possession or go backwards.
    3) to make playing ball through midfield possible their needs to be a chance of someone to receive it, when the ball does get to Ozil he has few options, all too similar all involving some kind of looped ball over the top as we have all gone and stood on defenders shoulders. Wingbacks, attackers and attacking midfielders, again he has two options try the impossible or play back to Xhaka and we are back to 2.

Workrate workrate workrate, with ball without ball, oh and assessing the situation concatantly not just thinking we’ve got the ball well keep it, help each other out, look to play for each other.

Now maybe just maybe there is a masssive unsettling influence in the camp, Ox, Alexis or even Mesut who knows?

But I know one thing we miss Santi. Someone who can actually move the ball through midfield and knows where to stand most of the time. And actually recognises what needs to be done in a game of football.

I’m not a fan of 3-4-3 or 3-5-2, and unless we can play tye likes of Kolasniac in it we are in trouble.

My starting XI accepting that we have sold Alexis by our next game and I fear Ozil too

I think we could play 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 more effectively:

    But I think I prefer 4-4-2 more

  88. wally says:

jnyc, ’79 keep banging that drum!

Can anyone say they are surprised? That they’ve never seen this type of performance from this team before?

  89. oz gunner says:

You are correct. Looks like a poison going through the club at the moment. It’s definitely not hard work and showing the fans they are in it to fight. Bunch of babies sooking. Should just say “who wants to stay? stand over here. Who wants to go? piss off out of the locker room and we’ll get it done”

Complacency is an issue and if it doesn’t get sorted out soon it’ll infect the whole squad and it’ll be another season down the drain.

I look at those options and see a better unit than what I saw today. I don’t care how good Özil, Ox and Sanchez can be on their day, we need a squad that is together and committed. If I was in the squad with these lot and they were just strolling around I’d be fucking fuming and wanting them out. I think that’s the issue. Anyone who wants out, see you later, anyone who wants to stay and build a team, in to the starting line up you go. I dont care how long of the window is left, I’d rather see players like Iwobi, Coquelin, Wilshere and Elneny in the team for the rest of the season and see some desire.

At least Özil seems to care:-

Blame us, shout at us, criticize us, but I’m also very disappointed about today’s game 😠. We wanted to achieve a positive result before the international break but we were simply not good enough during the 90 minutes and Liverpool deserved the win without a doubt. Usually I’m too angry to post on social media after such frustrating days like today, but I don’t want to let this match go uncommented before traveling to the DFB Team. Nevertheless… Gunners, I’m sorry – especially for the fans who travelled all the way up to Liverpool to see us fighting. But we will try everything to improve in the next game and bounce back from the disappointment we are all feeling at the moment 👊🏼 #LFCvAFC @arsenal
