Mbappe to Arsenal for….how much?

I highly believe Mbape will do well in Arsenal colours then he can continue with Madrid thereafter Five years. Going straight to Madrid will only end up like the James Rodriguez. Aresnal has turned out to be a nursery for the big clubs like Barcelona, Man City etc

Nice post, Mucky. I would blow whatever it takes out of that 100m on either of those two.
Wenger polishing Mbappe, Henry-style, is an enticing prospect. But has the old boy still got it in him? What do you reckon GoonerB?
PEA would be safer and possibly slightly cheaper. I’d still go the whole lot on him though.
None of that pussyfooting around.go the whole wedge.
Do we really want to end up with Mahrez and some developing CF from Kazakhstan?
Not likely. -
No idea why my phone changed Mucky to Mucky.

Chas, I agree with your 5.58. We really do need the bees knees of a striker now, no more pussyfooting around. In one swoop we can maybe get that player and also have the double whammy of persuading Ozil and Sanchez to hang around and get every-one in footy world sitting up and taking notice of us again. that has a positive knock on effect in convincing future targets that we are a club to join.
As to whether AW can still polish Mbappe into a top player, I would say probably yes. I still think he has that as one of his fortes. Where I think he has ailed is in areas that concern the team as a whole, like formations, tactics and player game management and the understanding of roles.
Unfortunately I think certain younger prospects in recent seasons have been a victim of these other factors, hindering their final development phase, often because the formation has been wrong and the whole team has looked chaotic with poor understanding of individual roles and how that combines in the team as a whole. It has also led to a lot of players being shunted into a multitude of positions in a season or regularly playing in a role that doesn’t really suit them.
If AW keeps the formation and can play Mbappe up front with Ozil and Sanchez behind him then I think AW can push Mbappe to the top level.

You missed it, BR.
It was last night. -
Mbappe will request to stay at Monaco. So he can be bought this year but loaned back to Monaco. He wants to go to the WC so he needs to play as much as possible. We can’t guarantee this unless Ozil or Sanchez leaves.
Apparently – Real will buy him for 100 mln, loan him back and will make him a key player in 2018/2019.By then Isco, Bale or Ronaldo will have left.
I would really encourage wenger to make an offer to Diego Costa as he is leaving Chelsea. He is a proven striker and imagine him and Sanchez harassing défenses

Can’t see Mbappe coming for 100mm. That’s not wenger is it. And if he did, it would be an indication that he’s completely lost his mind. Neither of which would be good for us.
One for the future from Lithuania is more likely. -

He looks a good addition. lets give hime time
Last May, at the age of 18, he moved from being the star man at Benfica to Bayern for a fee that will eventually hit €80M, and has started two games since December. To top that, he’s been dropped from the full International team, and now plays for the Portuguese U-21’s.
“The problem is that you basically have to be the finished article at a club like that. He was learning so much playing at Benfica every week, it was the perfect environment for him to develop, but he was a still a rough diamond with flaws in his game. Portugal is well known for producing precocious young talents who get sold before they are the finished article. That’s what happened with him”, said someone.
Now, Arsenal. Whatever the figure is, we have a transfer budget the Club are unhappy to spend this summer, and I doubt if it’s a whole lot more than £100M.
My hope is that all key players remain, meaning that whoever we buy, and whenever that is, we’ll still hit the road running with a settled side in our first encounter against…..and Leicester.
So, back to Mbappe. The “someone” that said the above, felt that at Bayern, a player needed to be the finished article. Arsenal are not quite at the Bayern level (cough!), so does that make Arsenal the ideal destination?
Would you risk the whole of our budget on him?
I would, but then I famously have a rather relaxed attitude towards being sensible, whilst at the same time having a somewhat gung-ho take on risk. Above all, I like excitement and think he’d bring skip loads of the stuff.
If, on the other hand, I was a remotely sensible sort and a little more mature, I’d probably say I’d prefer a player like Aubameyang. In other words, someone with a little more history, and having proved themselves in a tougher league.
What say you. All for one?
ps I know the bookies would probably have Lazazette at considerably better odds than Mbapp, but the principle of the post applies. All on one mega deal
