Sweet FA yesterday, Totnum today.

Please note: Should any Spurs fans read the following post, it is tongue in cheek and perhaps you should question what you expect from an Arsenal fan site (but my guess is that reading is an unattained skill and you are only looking at the pictures) 🙂

It may be the Micky Mouse Cup and it may be another distraction in a very busy schedule but this is a derby and not just any derby – this is about pride.

And we have been the Pride of North London for decades. Long may it continue.

Now I dislike Chelsea, and find Man Utd a sickening bunch of Northern effluent but I really, really abhor the N17 meat-puppets. Some of my best friends support these marsh-dwellers which raises serious questions about their sanity (though almost to a man/woman they are bed-wetters and onanists).

A Lillywhite

In the past few seasons I have been a little circumspect in expressing my dislike of the WHL neanderthals because the last time I did so we lost, but tonight I really do not care, in fact it may be a blessing if we lose because this cup is meaningless; if you do not believe me, tell me who won it just 5 months ago (without the help of google!)

Let me tell you and save you some time – Chelsea beat Spurs 2-0. Did it mean anything? Are Chelsea talked about as double winners? No, they are not. Were Spurs damaged by losing? Who cares 🙂

Any NLD is important from a fans point of view but my guess is that Mr Wenger will prioritise the Leicester game at the weekend. So …. who is going to play against the mongrels? Mr.Wenger has said he will be using senior members of the squad who have not had game time which means:-

Ospina

Debuchy    Chambers    Mertesacker      Gibbs

Ox    Ramsey     Arteta    Ozil

Campbell     Giroud

A shame we cannot use the injured Jeff – he looks a fine prospect. Same with Gnabry/Sanogo/Akpom/Maitland-Niles/Zelalem etc but hopefully they will get more playing time out on loan.

Normally, I write about the opposition and their manager but we are playing the WHL putrescence twice later in the season and to write about this bunch of cowboys three times is beyond my powers. Suffice it to say, the Spurs team is full of toilers, cloggers, miscreants and soon-to-be defendants at the Bailey, added to a couple of sexual deviants and a defrocked priest.

Instead of studying the form let’s look at past League/Milk/Littlewoods/Carling/Capital Cup games at Shite Hart Lane:-

Rocky in ’87 (what a night!!)

Samir Nasri’s penalty double in 2010

The Beast Baptiste’s double in 2007

Champagne Charlie scoring and Tony Woodcock finishing the tie in 1983

And Spurs highlight   errmmmm ……  they got a draw in 2007 🙂

Tottenham High Street

If this game was at The Emirates we would easily win but unfortunately watching the muppets and marsh dwellers celebrating a Spurs victory before limping their way home to their hovels, caves and tunnels is  something we have had to witness too often in the past few seasons. I expect a repeat tonight but our boys will be up for the fight and an Arsenal victory is certainly not beyond the realms of possibility. As we saw yesterday, sometimes the forces of good overcome those of evil and it is with this in mind that I am …..

50% confident

I take it that the high street picture is after the council’s regeneration programme?

Unfortunately, I live next door to a mouthy spud. To counter this I have hung a ‘mind the Gap’ sign up so that every time he looks over the fence it is the first thing he sees. Muppet!

Tonight? Don’t give a rat’s arse as all this competition means is injuries and mainly disappointment. It should only be for teams finishing below 10th in EPL and the spuds ‘cos they are desperate for attention.

  2. RA says:

First thing that struck me about your amusing Post Raddy is that despite the promise of a hard hitting review of the game and our traditional opponents, it was a credit to your more hippy, gentle self as it seemed more an exercise in being savaged by a fluffy puppy! 😀

Chapeau to you, sir, as it shows that we find it a little hard to be too down on opposition fans who have had little success in the last 20 or 30 years.

  3. You’ve surpassed yourself Flower Power hippo… lovely stuff.

I’ve got no interest in continuing with the COC.. K, let the onanists continue to play with it. But if we lose I want us to lose with some respect left. The Spuds will probably field a full PL team just to get the bragging rights…. but it still won’t lift the RED shadow that hangs over N17.

  4. RA

I think Raddy would rather be savaged by a fluffy pussy… 😀

  5. Big Raddy says:

NB. You know me too well

  6. chas says:

    Very funny, BR.
I hope you’re right and AW doesn’t risk too many first teamers.

Always nice to beat the spuds, but I won’t be too upset if we leave the comp at this stage.

How great it would be if we sneaked past them in their own backyard, though. 🙂

  7. chas says:

    Arnie
The disturbing photo with the severed heads etc. this morning had the caption ‘melted and damaged mannequins after fire in madame tussauds wax museum in london 1925’.

Somehow it seemed to fit with all the Costa/Mourinho stuff. 🙂

  8. tg says:

You forgot the 5-1 thrashing in 2005 ? Lol.

  9. Rasp says:

    Super PM Raddy,

I also would not be too disappointed if we don’t progress in this competition. The chavs have replaced tonight’s opposition as my most hated team – I have too many acquaintances and relations who support them and in all honesty the current crop (forgetting Levy for a while) are not as bad as the scumbags from West London.

Its such a shame Jeff is injured -already? … really? … please don’t let the comparisons to Diaby extend to the treatment room 😦

With the obvious exception of Santi, I would expect our C1C,C1C team to be similar to our CL C1C team … but I’d better not get started on that particular selection debate again 😀

  10. Great stuff Raddy, just the thing to lighten the mood.

I’m not greatly concerned with the actual competition, but I am concerned that this is a game against the Spuds and should be approached with due seriousness. A win will add to the teams confidence and help dispel the hangover from last weekend’s match.

  11. Gio says:

You better pray for a win this evening cos if you lose today that will be 3 defeats in a row before facing high flying Leicester. But I reckon you will lose both making it 4 losses in a row forcing the Wenger out brigade to resurface.
Ps I object to being called a bed wetter. I havent done that in months. So there!!

  12. Gööner In Exile says:

    Haha Raddy, nicely done sir.

I’m not for the competition but I’m always for beating the swamp dwellers.

Gio I am glad you see that the shadow is permanent, three defeats in a row is certainly a worry at the Emirates where as in N17 it is the norm.

  13. Gio says:

Gooner in exile. I am actually predicting 4 defeats in a row for you guys. Leicester to win too. Unheard of at WHL but gonna happen to you this week. And then Wenger will realise that he should have strengthened his squad in the summer rather then relying on overhyped nobodies but by then it will be too late.

  14. GoonerB says:

Thanks Raddy great post. Can I first send some majic worming healing powers over the net to Kelsey Micky and R.A.

I am with Rasp on my dislike of Chav’s above all else. Spurs? I love the rivalry and banter but again I have many associates and friends who I class as unfortunately finding themselves the wrong side of the track. I always have a great craic with them though and by and large their humour is very similar to ours as indicated by GIO above. Although I dohave to say GIO that I bet a couple of dribbles seeped out when the mighty Arsenal were pulled out of the draw after your lot.

I think AW is in a bit of a quandry for tonight. Really everyone should step back and look at the bigger picture and this game in isolation.

We had a blip in the ECL but I fully expect us to recover and progress so no biggie there yet.

Having been cheated on Saturday we are 5 off the top of the league and barring dodgy officiating could very well have been sitting joint top. We are in with a shout, better than most currently think IMO, so it is more important to have your strongest squad fit and ready for Saturday.

If AW does rest players and we don’t win the “exasperated can’t see the wood for the trees” lot will start lumping these games all together as if it is all Wengers fault, but as I say we are in serious contention in the league, still nothing to panic about in the ECL, and the F.A cup is ours to defend. As such this is less important and really only becomes more important due to the opposition and and that we have lost the 2 prior games. That shouldn’t matter really IMO if we look at the bigger picture so AW should rotate and rest e.t.c for me.

I like the cut of your jib Big Hippo with the team although I think I would be tempted to rest Ozil and play Flamini and Arteta as an experienced and solid DM with Rambo behind Giroud and Ox and Campbell as the wing forwards / wingers.

  15. stevepalmer1 says:

Pretty spired there are no comments about Wendens divorce procedings on the front page of the Sun

Apparently Wenger and his estranged wife have signed a paper in a French court which allows either one to have relations with other people.

I am not a religious person, but it appears that Cathlics cover their backs, pity he didn’t, do the same for the team

  16. Rasp says:

That’s old news Steve. Arsene’s personal life should not be in the spotlight any way, he has a right to his privacy.

  17. stevepalmer1 says:

That’s why it’s on the front page then

  18. LB says:

Hmmm, interesting, are we assuming that AW is Catholic or do we know?

    Great read BR

  19. Big Raddy says:

Lovely pic. I think I can see GN5 in the background standing next to Kelsey

  20. Eddie says:

LB – we do know. He received strict catholic upbringing and had to have special permission from the priest to play during mass times. Also, his daughter goes to church regularly. I know someone who knows her and does Irish dancing classes with her

  21. Rasp says:

I particularly like the ref’s collar – he looks a fine athlete 😆

  22. Eddie says:

Raddy, you are mad 🙂 How can you say such things about other fans, especially after claiming to have friends amongst them 🙂

I don’t hate Spurs, it is always nice to beat them, but compare to how I feel about Chavs…I love Totts.

I am still sulking and cannot bring myself to care about tonight, let’s hope it changes at 8pm. We should win but it is not going to be easy.

  23. fatgingergooner says:

Not fussed about tonight but should be a good watch if nothing else. I’d be happy for us to continue in the tournament aslong as Wenger rests players and we get to see some young guns.

I reckon we might see more of Iwobi tonight and maybe even a look at Bielik. I think Flamini could get a game too with Coquelin getting a knock. Might need to use him in next few weeks if desperate.

  24. The Cockie Monster says:

Cheers Rads !…………………..love anything that takes the piss out of the Spuds, it reminds me of the time I was in the waste lands many years ago after we won 5-0 there !.
The day started with a steam train journey to Shite Fart Lane where over the trains Morse code system passengers where told to turn their time pieces back to the 60`s !. After the game I was walking through the gas lit streets and was getting sexually aroused by crying Totnumb fans, this was seen by a flame torch and pitchfork waving gang of inbreds who shouted….” He has a bulge in his trousers !….he must be a Gooner or a Totnumb priest just back from a crèche !….get him !. I ran through some tunnels and caves before being pulled into a two up two down terraced cave by a Totnumb housewife on heat !.
She demanded sex and wanted me to talk dirty by whispering the Arsenal team and scorers of the day or she would turn me over to the rancid mob !. Fearing for my arse I obliged and this is what happened as I was caught with my pants down by the unexpected early return of her husband. (as explained on another site previously ).

    Spud : ” What`s happening here ? ”

Cockie : “erm…..Hydraulic Fracturing !………I`m testing your wife for new energy sources with the hope of bringing Gas and power to N17……here`s my card !.

    Spud : ” Interesting….so you`re Fracking my wife ! “……It says SHAGGER on your card, what`s that ? ”

Cockie : ” Shaft Her Arse Generating Gas Environmental Resources ! ”

Spud : Oh right !…..I`m into the environmental stuff, I`m currently connecting my colostomy bag up to my aquaponics system in the green house !…..can I watch ?.

    Cockie : ” No probs , take a seat ! ”

Spud : ” Thanks, this should be educational, by the way, I see you have some technical equipment handy, what`s that penis shaped looking thing for ? ”

    Cockie : ” oh that, it`s a DILDO……Direct Inside Labia Deep Operation ! ”

Spud : “fantastic !. you really know your stuff…….you`re an Arsenal supporter, aren`t you ! ”

Cockie : ” Yes, how did you know that ? ”

Spud : ” I noticed whilst you were Fracking my wife, that you have Chippy Brady and Bertie Mee`s faces tattooed on to your testicles and your shaft has ” Stand erect if you hate Totnumb !” tattooed on it as well ! ” .

Cockie : ” Yes, the most up to date technical equipment available.”

Spud : ” What do you ultimately hope to achieve by Fracking my wife ?

Cockie : ” To bring new power and light to this darkened area of north London ! ”

Spud : ” Light to this area !….….hahaha……You must think I`m some kind of idiot !….listening to your bollocks slapping onto my wife`s arse in search of new energy is a great innovation, but I`m not listening to the bollocks about bringing light to an area which has been in Arsenal`s shadow for years !…….hahaha…..you carry on Fracking my wife, I`m off !………….Light in Totnumb ! …….hahaha…….you must think I was born yesterday ! hahaha. “

  25. The Cockie Monster says:

Personally, I have a little black book with a hundred pages of who I hate the most and Totnumb are on the first 99 pages !………I will finish page 100 today and get a new book tomorrow !.
Anyone AAer who hates another club more than the Spuds goes down in my estimation….you need Thereapy or…..I know a good Euthanasia clinic !. hahaha

Good start to the day !…………….Arsenal U18`s beat the Spud U18`s 5-3 !

  26. GunnerN5 says:

    Nice “friendly” put down Raddy.

I always watched the games from the clock end Raddy, but you have great eyesight to spot Kelsey.

I’m in the group that never want to lose to Spurs, I could care less about the Tea Cup and hope we go out in the next round. Losing three in a row is very demoralizing and very tough on the team spirit – so I hope we win for both reasons.

  27. GunnerN5 says:

    Cockie.

It should be an undisputed fact that all right minded Arsenal supporters hate the Cockerels more than any other team.

  28. The Cockie Monster says:

“Gentlemen !……this poor chap was found wandering around in Arsenal`s shadow in the hottest summer on record !…….Nurse !, administer prescribed dose of Cillet Bang concentrated D Vitamins via rectum !.

  29. Bryan says:

I hate the Chavs more now days too! but always enjoy beating Spurs!
Sadly I don’t expect it to happen tonight & expect another defeat
from our under performing players & probably at best a draw against Leicester at the weekend.

You see I have lost faith in Arsenal & the manager & can see no more than a challenge for 4th place this season.
Teams that are serious about winning the top trophies buy big in the transfer window, even when they have won the big trophies the year before.

  30. Eddie says:

Bryan – me too. It is not just the transfers though – Zagreb was a joke and we should have won the first game.

Think about it from another angle – it is possible that big players were approached last summer and didn’t want to play for us because we are no longer top club

  31. Eddie says:

how do I know it is below 15 degrees outside? The cat moved back into her bedroom 🙂

  32. Bryan says:

    Eddie,
No its not just the transfers, Wenger’s teams have too consistently not turned up for games, that to me points to the manager, it never happened near half as much with Fergie at UTD

Maybe some players may of turned us down but can’t believe all would, I just think we put all eggs in one basket, mixed with the fact that we never will pay the going rate. As there are not a lot of world class strikers available it pushes the prices up to silly figures but if you want to compete, you have to pay them.
Also can’t understand why we have not got ourselves a big strong DM, needed one for over 5 years but never happens

  33. Big Raddy says:

Oh dear. Reading you two has really dampened my spirit.

Not even the pic of the Spurs bedwetter has given you joy

  34. Bryan says:

lol Big Raddy, yep its depressing but can only say it how I see it

  35. Eddie says:

sorry Raddy, I just cannot generate any joy right now

  36. The Cockie Monster says:

Lillywhite`s has got to be the poofiest nickname going !………not surprising though when the definition of the name is……….someone with a complexion that was as ‘white as a lily’ !…………obviously caused by our vast shadow !.

  37. LB says:

It is a gift to be an Arsenal supporter, I am looking forward to tonight, like most I do not expect much but it should be fun.

  38. The Cockie Monster says:

Totnumb arsewipes getting ready for the game !.

  39. Big Raddy says:

LB. You are right. When I made my choice of team it was between Spurs and AFC. Spurs were a brilliant side at the time having just won the Double and then the FAC. I chose AFc.

Just fantastic luck. I could have had 50 years of pain, disappointment, misery and embarrassment.

  40. The Cockie Monster says:

  41. chas says:

  42. LB says:

Supporting Arsenal is like being married; that’s to say, you can either find fault in your wife whenever a fault can be found; the problem with this, of course, is that you will almost certainly have a very miserable life.

Or, you can love, cherish and look for what’s good about her when the occasion arises and your chances of happiness are undoubtedly far greater.

My diamond anniversary is on the horizon, 60 years of bliss.

Well, apart from that time when you played away in Paris, you bitch, you broke my heart.

  43. chas says:

Just when she had a chance to be a super wife, too.

  44. The Cockie Monster says:

Ahh Paris !………..I remember the night well !.

  45. LB says:

I am glad someone got the joke

  46. The Cockie Monster says:

Now if FIFA was to have taken on my idea of always 11 vs 11………… Paris could have been happier !…………………….Jens you bastard !.

  47. Big Raddy says:

LB. Paris = Nayim and CLF 😦

  48. chas says:

Not quite the right geography but for some reason ‘playing away in Paris’ reminded me of this…….
Just look at Wrighty’s spindly legs. 🙂

  49. LB says:

Wow, some goal, were you at that game Chas?

  50. chas says:

    We want our Arsenal back.
Hoof it up the line, wait for two defenders to fall over their own dicks, then just sit back and watch a genius ram it in the top corner.

  51. The Cockie Monster says:

My favourite memory of Totnumb is driving around the shithole in the late 70`s with my windscreen jets on my delivery van modified to shoot out to the kerb side !…….I pissed in the screen wash reservoir and sprayed the fcukers standing at bus stops !…………..only for them to say to each other…..” What`s that great smell ?, are you wearing some new expensive after shave ? “…………………..yeah Chanel de Piss !.

  52. chas says:

    Unfortunately not, LB.

  53. chas says:

At the start of that video does an English-speaking fan say, ‘ Go wide, you c**ts’. 🙂

  54. chas says:

At the start of that video does an English-speaking fan say, ‘ Go wide, you front bottoms’. 🙂

  55. chas says:

    Same goal different angle.

  56. Red Arnie says:

Brilliant, Raddy. What a fantastic post! 🙂

at least 100%. even if it is the Mickey-Mouse Cup, we like a win in the NLD.

    COYG. 🙂

  57. chas says:

  58. Eddie says:

LB – thank Dennis it was a joke, I began to worry about you as I read your comment! phew, glad to know you are a normal male 🙂

  59. chas says:

Is that 10 out of 11, BR?
    Some predicting. 🙂

  60. GoonerB says:

Brilliant, called the line up in my 12.09. As long as it is Ox wide and Rambo central that is fine. I don’t want some weird hybrid Rambo wide right and Ox central. Personally I would play Ox left and Campbell right so they can cut in on their more dangerous foot and work from the lay off’s from Giroud.

  61. chas says:

    Spuds

Tottenham XI: Vorm, Trippier, Fazio, Wimmer, Rose, Carroll, Dier; Chadli, Eriksen, Townsend, Kane.

    Defence looks a bit suspect.

  62. chas says:

    Hopefully!

  63. stevepalmer1 says:

Looked at the line up, we have had it. were out

  64. chas says:

    GoonerB
You never cease to amaze me.
You not only want to pick who plays, but also pick which flaming yard of grass they are going to occupy. You’re bonkers. 🙂

  65. Red Arnie says:

    COYG. 🙂 🙂 🙂

  66. chas says:

    O-oh, not that old chestnut.

  67. Big Raddy says:

chas My original team would have been 11/11 but decided that it was too defensive.

I wonder who will play theplaymaker role, I hope it is Ramsey but it could be Arteta

  68. Can’t the lazy buggers get out and walk.

  69. chas says:

    Peaches’ Mum look away now……

  70. Eddie says:

chas – this one is for you – what is this the pic of, 6 letters

  71. Rasp says:

Looks like both managers have taken a similar approach to team selection.

  72. Big Raddy says:

Why did no-one tell me it is the autumn equinox?

  73. Big Raddy says:

    Eddie. That is too easy

  74. Eddie says:

I am only on level 2 Raddy 🙂

  75. Big Raddy says:

    what game is it?

  76. chas says:

    Eddie
Not sure, but I bet David Cameron would take an interest.

  77. chas says:

Raddy, Raddy, Raddy, don’t tell me your ceremonial robes haven’t been at the dry cleaners in preparation for the autumnal festivities.

  78. The Cockie Monster says:

I know it`s you David !………..I can see the remnants of your manifesto !

  79. Hi all

Only gooners on my sofa tonight, the baby spud that’s a chav is at the game.

I’m drugged up as I have a raging toothache but hopefully can still enjoy(?) the game.

  80. GoonerB says:

Hahaha Chas. You know it only goes wrong when Arsene fails to adhere to my preferred line up 🙂

  81. The Cockie Monster says:

The velocity axis of …..Mert, Flam and Zorro should be interesting !.

  82. fatgingergooner says:

Spuds defence looks very dodgy, but then we lack pace throughout the middle of our team which is always a bad sign.

Hope Chambers plays well tonight and our full backs remember how to defend. Last few times we’ve played them their energy in midfield has caused us problems. Don’t think we will have that problem tonight so hopefully Ramseys workrate can win us the game.

  83. The Cockie Monster says:

OK !…….we all seem to be on the same wavelength about our lack of pace !………….Bellerin, Alexis and Theo to replace Mert, Flam and Zorro after 5 mins !.

  84. chas says:

    Peaches
Is this what you meant when you said, ‘enjoy(?)’ ?

    http://arseblog.com/2014/01/derby-days/

  85. chas says:

  86. fatgingergooner says:

Really like watching Campbell play. He’s got a lot to his game but just needs things to go his way and to get a bit more confidence. If he was to score a couple of goals he could easily be our breakthrough player this year.

  87. chas says:

  88. Red Arnie says:

    correction: 2 and a half minutes. 🙂

  89. Sage words chas. The four four at the Emirates hurt me very deeply, I couldn’t speak to anyone for days but by the time we threw away a two goal advantage to lose 2-3 I found I could laugh about it. I’m ok as long as I don’t have to speak to any spuds which is quite hard around here.

Feel sorry for my other baby spud that’s watching the game with me, he’s a Gooner and will have to go to training tomorrow even if we lose. Difficult to avoid spuds at the training ground.

  90. The Cockie Monster says:

Hey Peaches !……….can we have a bit more detail on these baby spuds !…who ? why ? etc`…………..and make it before kick off as I will be behind sofa in 10 mins !. hahaha

  91. Red Arnie says:

    COYGs.

  92. Rasp says:

Does this mean that we will start with Gabriel and Kozzer against Leicester I wonder? Is this the time when Per is relegated to 3rd choice?

It is significant that Arteta cannot be the HM without a more mobile partner.

I hope we see a breakthrough this evening from Campbell, The Ox or maybe a reminder how good Ramsey is in the centre 🙂

  93. Big Raddy says:

I think this is a good team and definitely good enough to win.

Expect to see an entertaining display from Flamini.

Should we have a bet on when he gets booked? I am going with 19th minute.

  94. Rasp says:

Merson really doesn’t like us does he – apparently he thinks Cane is better than either Theo or Giroud

  95. The Cockie Monster says:

Merson is a Chav !……classed as a celebrity Chav supporter !

  96. Rasp says:

You said that against Zagreb Raddy 🙂

  97. Rasp says:

    Come you rip roaring Gunners!!!

  98. fatgingergooner says:

Will we finish with 11 men tonight?

  99. Big Raddy says:

Rasp. The team was good enough to beat DZ, they just played poorly.

    COYRRG

  100. Rasp says:

That was because it wasn’t a balanced team Raddy

  101. chas says:

  102. Big Raddy says:

Really is a shithole of a ground. Pitch is dreadful. Fans miscreants.

Hope this does no long term damage to my computer screen

  103. chas says:

    Not very exciting so far.

  104. chas says:

Alan Smith gets on my tits.

  105. fatgingergooner says:

Flamini our new fox in the box!

  106. Gööner In Exile says:

Love watching our defensive midfielder following up a shot 😀

  107. Big Raddy says:

What was Flamini doing there! Super shot from Ox who looks very positive

    COYRRG

  108. fatgingergooner says:

    Wenger’s tactics GiE!

Nevermind Eriksen, see if you Cannock us a goal!!!! 😂

  109. fatgingergooner says:

    #can nick

  110. Rasp says:

    I’m loving Campbell’s work rate

  111. fatgingergooner says:

And was that Campbell playing HM!? 😄

    Total football

  112. Rasp says:

I think Flamini should start every game up front 🙂

  113. Rasp says:

Someone needs to have a serious word with Debuchy – he keeps going AWOL

  114. fatgingergooner says:

    Rasp,

I think it’s better if someone has a word with Wenger and tells him we have Jenkinson on loan at West Ham!

I think injuries and Bellerin have ruined Debuchy unfortunately.

    Arteta to get sent off?

  115. chas says:

  116. Rasp says:

    Nah, Flamini more like 😕

  117. fatgingergooner says:

Flamini to get sent off!? 😄

Good job Dein isn’t ref, he’d have booked Campbell for diving! 😂😂😂

  118. Big Raddy says:

I was 17 mins out on Flam’s yellow

  119. Rasp says:

I can see a lot of our players running out of steam in the second half, 3 subs may not be enough!

  120. chas says:

  121. chas says:

  122. chas says:

  123. Rasp says:

    Concentrate boys

  124. chas says:

  125. fatgingergooner says:

    Rasp,

Looking at the speed of some of our lot I think they ran out of steam during the warm up!

Still good enough to be beating this shower though.

  126. fatgingergooner says:

    Celta Vigo 3-0 Barcelona!

And they started with full team.

Few bets gone out the window.

  127. Ra says:

Having had a truly dreadful at the week end, we now have one who has rewritten the rules, as apparently it is perfectly OK for the Spuds to grasp a handful of any Arsenal shirt within reach.

No yellow cards for continual fouling by Fartio and his only defence — grab a granny sorry, shirt.

Why are we bugged by these idiot officials?

  128. Ra says:

Umm — forgot the ‘truly dreadful ref at the eek end’ above. 🙂

  129. Big Raddy says:

Pretty crap half from both teams. We are edging it thanks to putting away our only chance.

Apart from that what has happened for us? Ramsey needs to get closer to OG. OG needs to play more central. Campbell needs to stay left and assist Debuchy who is struggling because JC isn’t tracking Rose.

We look good on the left with Gibbs and Ox.

Chambers playing well though BFG is rusty and off the pace.

Thankfully Spurs are even worse than us so far.

Wonder if we will finish with 11 players

  130. Ra says:

Delighted with the half time score but the lack of pace in the team is worrying at least — Debuchy, Per, Chambers, Arteta, Flambo, Rambo, Giro — bloody hell.

Like Campbell but he is leaving Deboozy a bit isolated in defence.

    COYG

  131. Gööner In Exile says:

Ok so Arteta may escape second yellow on Captains armband get out of red free card. Flamini is normally sensible enough to avoid a second, that was a gamble thinking ref distracted and trying to slow Rose down a bit. Has Debuchy seriously been saying he wants more game time? Clearly needs it for match sharpness/pace but guilty of basic ball watching mistakes. Like Cockie i’d consider recalling the Corporal at Christmas if his loan deal allows, that’s the negative of loaning in PL you can’t just call them back asylum can from Championship.

As for rest of game I feel our midfield is a bit barren in the centre no one getting hold of the ball, but I think it’s always a problem when Flamster and Arteta play together as Flamini would prefer to be on half way line of higher winning ball whereas Arteta prefers game in front of him so sits ten to twenty yards deeper to give himself time to read the game, leaving rather a large gap in between.

Ox has impressed as has Joel, reckon his got more to offer and could surprise a few this season.

  132. Gööner In Exile says:

On the whole Joel leaving Denuchy high and dry I think Debuchy is leaving himself high and dry himself, get deep, stay at full back, pass your winger on, can’t say Ox is giving Gibbs any more support but I haven’t seen Gibbs follow his man inside or be too far forward when we are not in position. Shape shape shape!!!!

  133. chas says:

    Pass pass pass
    press press press!!!

  134. fatgingergooner says:

In fairness to OG, I think he has run the channels well tonight due to the fact he has a slower player than him marking him for once!

I think Ramsey needs to get into the game more and use the space better. It’s something Özil is a master at.

    Barca 4-1 down now!

  135. Red Arnie says:

ha ha ha ha. no complaints. 🙂 half way there. 🙂

  136. Gööner In Exile says:

    Always repeat three times Chas

  137. Big Raddy says:

No point playing the channels when there is no-one in the box!

  138. fatgingergooner says:

    GiE,

    Totally agree about Flam/Arteta.

Arteta sits far too deep and often puts us under pressure with his positioning. Seems to have got worse as he’s gotten older. Understandable I suppose.

Guess that’s why we all like Coquelin, because he plays in front of Cazorla and often wins the ball back halfway or higher thus creating counters.

Ignoring the goal, I’m starting to think Flam could be a better option than Arteta right now. In fact, maybe I’d just use Chambers instead.

  139. Gööner In Exile says:

Two attacks and Debuchy tear arsing past Campbell and leaving holes

  140. chas says:

  141. Gööner In Exile says:

FGG don’t have a problem with Arteta sitting deep it’s just with personnel on pitch tonight it’s a bit of an issue

  142. fatgingergooner says:

    Rubbish goal.

  143. Big Raddy says:

So unlucky for Chambers. He had to go for the ball. Perhaps Ospina could have called.

    Game on

  144. fatgingergooner says:

    GiE,

I’ve had an issue with it for a while and don’t like it. Leaves a massive whole between our othe midfielders and our defensive players. Coquelin doesn’t seem to do that.

  145. Rasp says:

We need to bring Theo on for Giroud, we have no threat centrally up front

  146. fatgingergooner says:

Campbell up top and Iwobi wide with Giroud coming off.

  147. Rasp says:

As long as Giroud comes off – he’s not posing a threat up front but as ever has been good at defending corners

  148. fatgingergooner says:

Özil for Flam or Arteta and put Rambo in the middle. Keep the ball better.

  149. Big Raddy says:

I agree OG has been pants tonight though he worked hard. Give Iwobi a run and get Ramsey further upfield and Ox to come in off his wing sometimes

  150. Big Raddy says:

    AW doesn’t agree 😀

  151. Rasp says:

All of a sudden we look more potent with pace up front

  152. Rasp says:

Arteta is turning into a liability, who can come on for him?

  153. Gööner In Exile says:

    Get in Matthieu!!!!

  154. Rasp says:

I told you he should play up front 😆

  155. fatgingergooner says:

    Flamini9

    Looks good to me!

  156. OMG Matthieu what a goal

  157. Rasp says:

Typical Arsenal, we take the lead and then start committing even more men forward

  158. Rasp says:

Debuchy still venturing way too far up the pitch, bring on Nacho

  159. chas says:

  160. chas says:

    Rasp
Your in-game comments are just as annoying whether sat alongside you or from 120 miles away. 🙂

  161. Rasp says:

Well don’t read them then chas, at least I didn’t pay for you to be rude to me this time

  162. chas says:

    Ouch 😆

  163. chas says:

    Red card for rudeness.

  164. fatgingergooner says:

    Brilliant!

We even left it to a player who was free to leave in the summer to stick the goals in!

F*ck off Spurs you useless tw*ts!

They had Eriksen, Rose, Kane and Chadli who are all starters! We looked awful at times! Makes it even better!

Don’t think anyone played that well tbh, but great result.

  165. Rasp says:

Relief, I can walk round with a mildly smug look on my face tomorrow amongst my spud loving colleagues at work 🙂

  166. Gööner In Exile says:

I thought we managed the time after we scored well, they committed men forward and left holes and suddenly we got good ball up top, Alexis made a difference just by his presence, stopped their full backs committing and gave others something to worry about.

We started an average 11 and brought on Theo and Alexis and still had others to call upon, Spuds had Alli, Gi and Son to bring on to change their game…..that’s the difference in squads right there.

  167. Gööner In Exile says:

I think Gibbs deserves a mention tonight, did his job properly and without too many unnecessary forays forward.

  168. fatgingergooner says:

    Chelsea home next round?

  169. Rasp says:

On the evidence this evening, Flamini should get the shout over Arteta if called upon.

  170. fatgingergooner says:

Fair play to Gibbs. Saved us on the line. Loving the fact we won playing as bad as that. We were compact and Ospina didn’t have much to do, but that was a terrible game!

  171. GunnerN5 says:

Rasp, you should walk around with a huge grin on your face………..!!!

  172. Rasp says:

Hi GN5, its true, if we play well we are happy for the rest of the week – in truth I don’t think it was a great game, but in some ways that makes it even sweeter 🙂

  173. stevepalmer1 says:

Wash my mouth out with soap and water, I didn’t expect that result, But a ten man reshuffle is not on, whatever comp you play, But well done Gunner’s

  174. We won so I’m not going to criticise anyone. Some played better than others and nobody was particularly bad.

Flamini for a moment looked positively Greaves like for the first goal and what a stunner for the second?

  175. Gööner In Exile says:

Going to penalties at Anfield ?!?!

    Shots 47 – 4
    On Target 16 – 2
    Goals 1 – 1

    😀

  176. Gööner In Exile says:

Should we sign the Carlisle striker that took his (probably) only chance

  177. Gööner In Exile says:

    Penalties it is then……..

  178. Anyone want to write a few words for tomorrow’s post please?

  179. Gööner In Exile says:

Tense watching this on bbd website, 2-1 Dippers, both teams missed 2, Carlisle up next

  180. Gööner In Exile says:

3-2, Carlisle need to score for sudden death

  181. Gööner In Exile says:

Shame three misses for Carlisle, Liverpool go through

  182. GunnerN5 says:

    League Cup fourth-round draw

    Manchester City v Crystal Palace

    Liverpool or Carlisle v Bournemouth

    Manchester United v Middlesbrough

    Everton v Norwich City

    Southampton v Aston Villa

    Sheffield Wednesday v Arsenal

    Hull City v Leicester City

    Stoke City v Chelsea

  183. Actually forget my plea for a post I think Sir A was at the game and he said he will do one.

  184. Well, what a lovely surprise I got this morning when I saw that N17 was plunged into even darker shadow last night… who’d have thought Flamster would have been our match winner.

  185. Big Raddy says:

    Morning All,

NB. From your comment I assume you did not watch the game.

    Plastic fan 🙂

  186. ‘morning all,

Everyone still under the blanket? OK, I’ll go and have some breakfast.

  187. Ah! Bonjour Soixante Neuf, to drunk to watch the game? Or too engrossed in leering at one of your models? 😀

  188. I’m afraid that is indeed the case Raddy….. my apologies to all true supporters like your good self 🙂

  189. NG

No I wasn’t, actually I was participating in a 10km run around Avignon for charity. 😀

  190. Sitting watching the game with my Spurs supporting wife, last night I was surprised when she said, at the end, “hard luck you’re through to the next round”. Such Cynicism!

  191. Rasp says:

Morning all, as usual the media are making a fuss about the fracas at the ground instead of the fact that we beat Tottenham

  192. As one of the marshals no doubt. 😀

  193. Gööner In Exile says:

Morning all, reports this morning and photos unfortunately showing Arsenal fans ripping some hoardings off the stadium, not good. Although the Mail has tried to sensationalise further by saying the hoardings were being dropped on to Spurs fans below and the pictures are carefully cropped, if they’d shown the other angle that another of their articles shows you can see it is clearly other Arsenal fans below, and furthermore when Arsenal fans were being held for “their own safety”, as rest of stadium was empty.

Not condoning the behaviour and pictures clearly show offenders and I’m sure club will deal with those responsible. But do hate the sensationalism.

  194. ah you sussed me too quick NG…. yes I was stationed outside the Tom Tip Bar…. ha ha

  195. Big Raddy says:

    NB. Apology accepted.

I will be a plastic over the weekend because I am taking another holiday and doubt whether there is an internet connection.

Thinking g of which ….. Can someone take on PM duties please??

  196. Gööner In Exile says:

We have all seen the mess inside the Emirates left by Spuds fans seats ripped up, toilet cubicles rampaged etc

  197. Big Raddy says:

    NG is AA’s Clouseau

  198. Big Raddy says:

Daily Mail crop pics to fit their agenda ? Really ?? Surely not 🙂

  199. RA says:

As he struck the ball for the first goal I thought for one split second that Flambo had knocked it over the bar. 🙂

Silly me, he was just showing supreme confidence in his CF skills, and sending a message to people like me that he was not over the hill, with a Warp Factor of -10 that he had heard NG was claiming. 😀

    And good morning each.

  200. Big Raddy says:

RA. Had it been Theo or OG I would agree

  201. Rasp says:

I wonder if our supporters would have been so wound up to create the damage had it not been for the injustice against Chelsea at the weekend?

  202. Eddie says:

what about Ospina last night? Was he shocking or what?

  203. Who feels like this today…. I know I do

  204. Morning all

I’m not sure what time Sir A’s match report will arrive, he said he’ll email it as soon as he can.

  205. Rasp says:

    Morning Eddie,

Ospina came and collected the ball in the air bravely a couple of times and also blocked what looked likely to be an easy goal – on the other hand he also dropped the ball in the box and looked a bit shaky at times.

The player that did worry me was Debuchy who was charging up the right flank with gay abandon and leaving huge gaps behind which the spuds regularly exploited. Some folks blamed Campbell for not covering for him, but I thought he put in a good shift and worked hard defensively.

  206. Eddie says:

yeah, Debbs looked very amateurish. How worrying is the prospect of a couple of injuries here and there, and us relying on players that are clearly not up to it

BTW, the ball was across the line and spuds had a goal ruled out. How come nobody here is bothered about it? Double bloody standards 🙂

  207. Rasp says:

The goal ruled out was offside and the whole ball has to be across the line which the technology showed was not the case – so no goal for both incidents.

No one is claiming Arsenal played particularly well, but Flamini’s grit was the difference and hopefully this will bring back the fighting spirit (not in a Gabriel way 🙂 ) to some of the other players.

  208. stevepalmer1 says:

    Morning all,
I feel a hell of a lot happier this morning than i did yesterday, The thought of a game where i knew there would be a lot of changes, and knowing how we never look good with a lot of changes.

Surprisingly Spuds also looked to have a few, and although at the end, they i felt looked better on paper than we did. I have to say that when i hear managers say it is impossible for the same player to play sixty games in one season, I have to scratch my head, that is just over a couple of hours a week,

At the end of the day, my worries were unjust as we managed to score 3 goals. The game itself was not a game of beauty but the result is all we care about, Well done Lads.

  209. Eddie says:

that pup 🙂 is he yours rasp?

  210. Rasp says:

No Eddie, it just represents my mood. I found it on the net – I’m no chas, hopefully he will join us soon with some of his more artistic images 🙂

  211. ha ha would be a good theme Rasp…. AA’s posting a pic of an animal that represents todays mood 🙂

  212. Rasp says:

    I’ll stop now …

  213. Red Arnie says:

    🙂 🙂 🙂

lovely day’s blogging yesterday. dodgy stream but enjoyed the game. 🙂

  214. Eddie says:

nb @ 10:06 – is that you as a baby?

  215. We have a New Post everyone ……………..
