EPL – Episode 7: The sick Revenge :-) Arsenal wins at Brentford!

Partey, Vieira and Xhaka played a good game in midfield

Brentford 0 Arsenal 3

Ramsdale: not a lot to do but what he did, he did very well. 7

White: made his role look easy today which should not be underestimated. 7

Saliba: our French Colossus, wow what a player, was playing with authority before his goal but visibly improved after it. 8

Gabriel: another situation of making his role today look easy, many a team have come unstuck against Brentford’s attack but Big Gabbi held the line superbly. 7

Tierney: we got reminded just how much more defensive nous we get with Tierney than with Zinckenko and I am a massive fan of the Ukrainian. Easy with hindsight I know but the scot should have started against United. 7

Xhaka: Captain and rightly so; you were right Total, you were right. Granit aint going nowhere and neither should any Arsenal fan want him to do so. Superb performance today. 8

Partey: MOTM for me; controlled, not just the midfield, but orchestrated the whole game, everything went through him and had he been available I feel confident we would have won at Old Trafford. 9

Vieira: take a bow young man and can we have more goals like that please. I thought he was starting to fade towards the end of the first half but then popped up shortly after the break to give us a glimpse as to what he has in the locker, great goal and one that will last long in the memory. 8

Martinelli: he has set the bar so high if he doesn’t score it seems as though his standards have dropped. Played perfectly well for me. 7

Jesus: not been picked for the Brazil squad – GOOD, have a well-deserved rest Gabriel and come back and score more goals like that. 7

Saka: like Martinelli, has set the bar very high and without a goal he gets less song time from the away support, still exciting to watch. 7

Thanks LB!

  1. RC78 says:

    Thanks LB for the post!

I thought Xhaka was particularly good today…Our best midfield duo is Partey, Xhaka by far

  2. Malaysian gunner says:

Martinelli ,imho, hangs on to the ball too long.
Against top teams,it can be fatal

  3. fred1266 says:

Only fatal if he losses it but what I seen he has great ball retention

  4. RC78 says:

We have a good player in Vieira it seems – very confident on the ball. He is a bit like ESR, which makes me a bit worried about ESR….Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli and Vieira may be above him in the hierarchy for EPL games…

  5. fred1266 says:

I personally would take ESR over both Vieira and odegard since he seems to be the more clinical player infront of goals, the injury really didn’t do him any favors this year

  6. Aaron says:

    Right on point LB.

Only wish Mikel would have pulled Jeuss at 60 minutes, and made a few other subs earlier just to help our squad last this year, as there is no rest due to world cup….

  7. fred1266 says:

Jesus not in Brazil squad at the moment so no concern of fatigue right now

  8. allezkev says:

Nice balanced post LB, yes Cptn X was very impressive and it seems afirm favourite with the away fans.

  9. pbarany says:

The issue with Jesus that if he gets a yellow card – his 5th of the season – against Tottenham on the 1st of October, then he will be suspended against Liverpool.
(However would he manage to ‘wait’ with his next card to the Liverpool game, then he will miss our clash against Leeds, where Nketiah would be already extra motivated to demonstrate his prior host-team that they have made a serious mistake of neglecting him when he was there.)

  10. fred1266 says:

How Jesus play really hard to not seeing him not pick up a silly yellow but yeah ideally yeA he should pick it up against pool to miss game as you suggested

  11. RC78 says:

Let us just win the next game and if he picks up a yellow, it is not ideal but the most important is to get the 3 points 🙂

  12. RC78 says:

We have Nketiah, Martinelli, ESR…that can play up front…

Just to let you know that Balogun is doing amazing in France and that Pepe is doing OK

  13. RC78 says:

Lloris – Saliba, Varane, Hernandez (or Kimpembe) – Pavard, Camavinga, Tchouameni, Hernandez – Griezmann – Mbappe, Benzema

No Kante or Pogba in the potential French line-up at the WC2022…

Lloris – Pavard, Saliba, Varane, Hernandez – Guendouzi, Tchouameni, Camavinga – Griezmann (or Dembele), Benzema, Mbappe

    alternative in a 433

  14. fred1266 says:

Kante not pick cause injured surely he makes it

    Surely dembele over griezmann

Giroud putting his hands up also hopefully dey are unified and lift the trophy again

  15. RC78 says:

I am hoping Deschamps takes Giroud because he is the only one with a different profile…everyone else is like play lay-offs, dribble and go fast…Giroud provides the link up play and the aerial threat/support and he is a good squad player.
