So it seems that Kolasinac is going back to Germany and most likely to Leverkusen or Shalke. Arsenal is looking to recoup 9 Mln EUR + 2 Mln bonus so a total of 11 Mln EUR for the Bosnian international left back.
Kolasinac joined AFC for free in 2017 and made 107 appearances for the club. He has now fallen behind Tierney, AMN and Saka as a left back but has deputized with his usual commitment and intent at LCB and LB whenever called upon.
He scored 3 goals and delivered 11 assists. After a very promising first season, he struggled a bit with the demands of the EPL and was definitely a player that suffered under Emery. When he joined the club for free, he had just had a great season with Shalke and overall, it seems that he failed to live to the excitement and expectations. That said, he always showed commitment and professionalism.
I think he will also be remembered by his nickname “The Beast”, not only because of his robust physique but mostly because of how he handled the whole car-jacking incident with Ozil.
I know Sue will miss his physicality and looks but he is still young and returning to Germany makes sense for him from a footballing and family perspective. So as we are near to parting ways with Kolasinac, let us all join in and say “Auf Wiedersehen Kola and vielen dank! Alles Gute!”

I guess we should never underestimate the value of a player if they can find their place in the system.
He seems to a bit hefty for the marauding left back role, but Elneny proves that it is possible to find a place and a value to the team without being a star, he was never a PL box to box player as he could probably achieve in many other teams, but he has found the deep lying midfield role and is making it his own and the name to be on the team sheet before Xhaka.
So if Kola is a back up centre back option in the PL he knows the team and the manager and is probably cheaper than alternative purchases, but if he wants to play left wing back he surely needs to be away from the pace of the PL.
PS Still think that AMN could also fulfil that role as he is probably the Arsenal player with the most “couldn’t give a f***” attitude when on the ball, give him it, he controls it and he moves it no matter who is around him.

Those three are all under 21 y.o. so Saka and Smith-Rowe do not need to be included in the 25 man squad, but if good enough they can play for the first team, in addition to those in the official squad.
Any number of Home Grown players can be used if under 21 y.o. so that should not be a problem, but I am not sure about Martinelli, and could not be assed to look it up.
The obvious, I guess, would be to include Martinelli in the squad, and drop some other less than useful player, of whom there are still some loitering around.

Unfortunately he can’t defend. He was bought as a wing back by Wenger and was much better on the attack. Ultimately a bit of a let down.
LBG – How could I forget Martinelli! Apologies for that!
He has to be in the B team for sure, which begs the question of where we would play him and who we leave out and I think it will have to be Chambers so we would play a 451 with Pepe, Martinelli, Saka behind Nketiah.
I think the main target for our club now should be a proper DM. I think Ceba has to start games because of his ability to drive the ball forward and see the right pass. If this DM can be Partey, Jorginho, Brozovic, Ndidi, Kante, Kovacic, Saul Niguez…, it would be great.
So if I were Arteta and Edu, all my focus would go to a DM rather than a CM. The main gap is there. Now if we can get a CM, it is a bonus but I would much rather use our funds to get a DM rather than pay 40 Mln pounds for Aouar although he is a good player.
We have some young promising players that can grow with the club and make the club group in Saka, Martinelli, Gabriel, Tierney and if you think that Bellerin, Pepe, Holding, Chambers, AMN, Saliba,
Willock, Nelsson, Smithe-Rowe are also all under 26 years old, I feel like we have a good basis for development.
Luiz, Xhaka, Willian, Auba providing some guidance but we do need that extra robust player as DM that is going to make the team really click imho. Who will it be? Can’t wait till 5th of October to find out
