Atletico v Arsenal – pre-season gets properly underway

So, pre-season against quality opposition begins with today’s game in the Singapore National Stadium.

Will Emery’s Arsenal look significantly different to the Arsenal of the past few seasons?

Will it be too early to tell with multiple substitutions and very hot conditions?

The game is advertised as on channel Premier 1, which means very little to me. Any ideas?

No idea about Premier 1, but clearly some sleuthing to be done

Can’t wait any longer. The first real test for the gunners and Emery. Bring the game on

  5. Eddie says:

Very hot conditions? only 29 degs in Singapore, 32 in Cuffley

if this bloody heat doesn’t kill me I will see Jack playing for the Hammers on 25th, can’t wait!!

Today game could be good. We know Atletico play very well and Simeone doesn’t do friendlies. Hopefully Unai is a match for him.

I don’t want to see youngsters and prospects, and future stars. I want to see top team hungry for success. Come on you Gunners!!

  6. mickydidit89 says:

    Steady Eddie

How about M-Niles: youngster, prospect, future star AND hungry. Full house. Cigar.

  7. mickydidit89 says:

Team to play Atletico: Leno, Bellerin, Holding, Kolasinac, Mustafi, Ramsey, Guendouzi, Smith Rowe, Reiss Neilson, Aubameyang, Lacazette

Subs: Cech, Papastathopoulos, Mkhitaryan, Maitland-Niles, Chambers, Mavropanos, Perez, Nketiah, Osei-Tutu, Willock

  8. mickydidit89 says:

    Guendouzi

Is he the new boy with the big hair?

  9. fred1266 says:

    Looks like a 4231 formal

  10. fred1266 says:

    Yea it is micky

  11. TERRY MANCINI HAIR TRANSPLANT says:

    Cheers chas.

I’m really looking forward to not seeing this match.

You dont want to see youngsters or future prospects Eddie? I’m the opposite. I often go down the local park to watch the youth playing . Not to arouse suspicion I hide behind a tree and always make sure I’m wearing trousers.

The other day watching one particular game I spotted a right winger who I feel may have a future as an Accountant? He never passed the ball so the required greed was there and when he got booked responded to the Ref by taking out his own pen and paper and demanded the Refs name.

Some other kid got sent off by jumping on an opponents back and came back half an hour later armed with a six pack of lager. I believe he will make an excellent Scaffolder.

Shame I cant see the game really? Want to know if that boy Emille Smith Rowe is the real deal or whether he will become an Estate Agent.

Wait we have no Emirates cup this year 😂

  13. GunnerN5 says:

0-0 after 37 minutes. Sky Sports has a better live text summary than Arsenal.com

  14. GunnerN5 says:

Against the run of play Atletico 1-0 at 49 mins.

  15. GunnerN5 says:

    it was at 39 mins

  16. GunnerN5 says:

Half time and we are down 1-0. From the text summary it looks like the same old Arsenal a lot of loud barks but no bite in front of goal.

Apart from this blog, I frequent Untold Arsenal.

I tried just before and have been told I need a password.

Does anyone here know what has happened here?

  18. fred1266 says:

    Holding with some silly mistakes

  19. fred1266 says:

    Nice goal from Smith rowe

  20. GunnerN5 says:

GOAL! ATLETICO 1-1 ARSENAL (Smith Rowe, 47)

What a fantastic goal from the 17-year-old!

Smith Rowe picks the ball up in a nothing position, 30 yards from goal with blue Atletico shirts surrounding him.

His clever footwork allows him some space on the edge, and he curls a beauty into the top right corner! He’s absolutely delighted

  21. TERRY MANCINI HAIR TRANSPLANT says:

Fantastic. Gazumping and bullshitting perspective house buyers can wait.

Lets not get too excited. But I believe we could have the next Brady

  22. Rasp says:

I think I told you all about E S-R a couple of months ago. He comes from Potters Bar and was taught by an AA’er … he’s got oodles of talent, let’s hope we can nurture it and bring him all the way into the first team squad.

  23. GunnerN5 says:

Great goal from the 17 year old.

  24. fred1266 says:

Ramsey start back with that shit again

  25. TERRY MANCINI HAIR TRANSPLANT says:

What a fantastic prospect that boy is. Unai us growing on me too. At first I was resisting his love out of respect to Arsene, but now i may sleep with him

  26. GunnerN5 says:

jjgsol – I just tried Untold Arsenal.com and I had no problems.

  27. GunnerN5 says:

Arsenal made NINE changes. Chambers, Maitland-Niles, Mavropanos, Mkhitaryan, Nketiah, Osei-Tutu, Sokratis, Perez, Willock are on.

Replacing: Aubameyang, Bellerin, Ramsey, Mustafi, Lacazette, Holding, Ramsey, Kolasinac and Smith Rowe.

  28. TERRY MANCINI HAIR TRANSPLANT says:

Jigsol, I’m not one for instigating paranoia, but I think they have it in for you.In my experience your usually barred from Untold if they know something about you that you yet don’t know?

Don’t get paranoid about it mate. But you may have done something you yet don’t know about? in my case, i was shocked to discover that last December I stole the charity box from my local pub.

i believe I may have also committed a murder using a silencer, but i cant be sure?

  29. fred1266 says:

Chambers and holding didn’t look good today IMO

  30. GunnerN5 says:

    And we go to penalties…………

  31. fred1266 says:

All that penalty practice they showing us and we still can’t take penalties steups

  32. GunnerN5 says:

Lost 3-1 on penalties after missing 3 out of 4 shots………………

  33. jjgsol says:

    GUnner N5

I just tried again both on my computer and on my phone.

I cannot think of any reason why I should be barred.

Can I ask you to let me have the email address for them and I will write to them to enquire?

  34. David Stewart says:

    Who took our penalties?

  35. fred1266 says:

    Only Niles scored for us

  36. GunnerN5 says:

jigsol, I simply keyed in untold Arsenal.com on Google and clicked on the site.

  37. fred1266 says:

Is posting other sites forbidden or something?

  38. Eddie says:

ok, at least we know the team need to practice shooting. Nothing new there is it

  39. LBG says:

The Spuds name their new shit hole!
The Tottenham Hotspur StAdium, with the A capitalised and pointing north because that’s where they come from!!
