Hull.A New Dawn?

Should be a fine day’s sport. Arsenal, a respite and then England/Wales in Cardiff.

The damage of the last two losses is in the past, the players have to show why they earn squillions and give us a reason to believe (sounds like a song). We are at home against a struggling team much the same as Watford (gold and black kit).

Do you think Silva’s Hull have the courage to do a Watford and attack from the start? I certainly hope so but as Silva is known as “Clean Sheet Silva”, the chances are high that we will see Hull PTB early. “Clean Sheet Silva”, sounds like a porn star name but the man has certainly improved Hull. Clean sheets against both Liverpool and MU in his last two games is testimony to manager who can organise his team.

Our boys need a boost, an early goal would provide one. Anything will do, an OG, a wicked deflection, in off the woodwork, anything. My fear is that if Hull score first the whole ground will become a venomous environment. Arsenal have millions of fans but far less supporters.

My Team:

Bellerin     Squillaci    Koscielny    Gibbs

Ox    Coq   Ozil

Walcott    Perez    Sanchez

Why not? Perez at CF? A front three that can all pay at CF? Ideally I would like to see Danny start, he is so great to watch. This is a very small front 6 who will have to do do loads of running about (in a tactical way).

With BM midweek I can envisage a much changed side and this is just a punt.

There is a genuine threat that the Top 4 could escape us this season, it is time to get back  onto the winning horse.

  2. chas says:

    Excellent, BR.
Completely delusional but excellent nonetheless. 😮

  3. mickydidit89 says:

    Thanks Erik

While I like your team, and it also makes sense with the Bayern game around the corner, I still can’t see Arsene starting Lucas, and I don’t know why not.

I think that although there’s only a short gap between games, Danny would be too ring rusty for Bayern if he didn’t play 60 mins today, so for that reason, I’d have him lacing up from the off

Indeed about a great day’s sport, and I’ll be tuning in again for the rugger later

  4. Eddie says:

why not indeedy? Start Perez and see how he gets on, there must be a reason why we bought him for thirty five effing millions. Pounds.

Maybe alongside Welbeck? Try this combo for a change?
After all there is not much to lose now, we won’t w

  5. LB says:

Thanks for another top drawer pre-match BR.

I still think that Monreal and Iwobi will start.

  6. Eddie says:

comment posted itself before I finished 🙂
we won’t win the league and even 4th spot seems distant now, so sod it, risk it all and bench Walcott, Giroud and maybe even Ozil

And don’t let Xhaka anywhere near the bloody pitch

  7. Rasp says:

Thanks Raddy, I think Squillaci has a thigh strain otherwise I really like your team … but maybe that is the team we should play against Bayern and we should give the team that lost to the chavs a chance to regain their confidence?

  8. mickydidit89 says:

    I agree LB

  9. Morning all

It’s match day!!!!! 🙂 Could be a tad warmer but hey ho, just waiting for the train. Will read the PM when we m sat down

  10. chas mobile says:

    Xhaka still banned.
    Perez £17.1 m

Complete Unfounded Bollocks in full swing. 😊

  11. Eddie says:

ha ha ha ha ha, I knew you’d jump out of your tight skin 🙂 🙂
    never fancied you anyway, psssshhhhhh

Iwobi, forgot about him, good lad, let’s start him

  12. Did you forget how to spell Mustafi BR 😉 Sorry I’ve got lots of clothes on so it’s a bit tighter than normal in my pocket, breathe in chaps 🙂 🙂 🙂

  13. chas mobile says:

Everyone knows you talk utter drivel on here just to wind others up. 😅

  14. mickydidit89 says:

At least you have tight skin Chas

I quite like getting better, while still technically sick, as you can lie about doing nothing. I foresee full recovery taking the whole weekend 🙂

  15. Excellent news Micky 🙂

  16. What kind of ko time is 12.30 anyway???? I’m going to be in the ground with half an hour to spare.

It’s such a lovely day for a walk maybe I’ll take a detour to the KH after all ……… just in time to walk with the Vines’ to the ground

  17. No, not quite enough time for that 😦

  18. A Bovril in the ground then ……. Highbury memories 🙂

  19. mickydidit89 says:

    Great routine Peaches

Finsbury Park. East Stand Highbury. Sigh. Ems. Bovril.

  20. Eddie says:

fine then. I won’t talk anymore. Bye

  21. mickydidit89 says:

One hour and we’ll sit together

  22. mickydidit89 says:

    We need a 6-0 to go 2nd

  23. Rasp says:

Can you still buy Bovril? Hot chocolate otherwise with an extra stir 🙂

  24. mickydidit89 says:

Cech, Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Gibbs, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Coquelin, Walcott, Ozil, Iwobi, Alexis.

Subs: Ospina, Monreal, Gabriel, Elneny, Lucas, Welbeck, Giroud

Yip, he hates Lucas 🙂 Love the team though

  25. mickydidit89 says:

    Yes Rasp

Not from the fat food counter, there’s a little trolley that sells Bovril

  26. mickydidit89 says:

Great to see Bell in the side

  27. Rasp says:

Oh, thanks Micky … why have I never seen it?

  28. mickydidit89 says:

If you leave through the entrance of the block where Peaches and The Sensible Brother sit, then food is left, trolley on other side by the glass

  29. Rasp says:

Get away … I’ll sample some next time I get to a game 🙂

  30. mickydidit89 says:

Right, here we go. Six needed. Just for starters.

    Come on you Gunnnnnners

  31. Big Raddy says:

    Right. In the chair.

Good to see our defence is as porous as normal. Makes for a more exciting game

  32. Rasp says:

We’re putting in maximum effort … just a bit nervous in the final third

  33. Rasp says:

The Ox has been out best player so far, I hold he starts in that position again against Bayern

  34. Rasp says:

    At last …. alexiiiisssssss

  35. Big Raddy says:

Really enjoyable half so far and made more so by the goal

In my post “Anything will do, an OG, a wicked deflection, in off the woodwork, anything”

  36. mickydidit89 says:

    In off the hand
    Who cares 🙂

  37. VP of OZ says:

    Hand of god…

  38. Rasp says:

We must maintain the intensity, not let it drop off after going ahead

  39. Rasp says:

🙂 TH14 discussing deliberate handballs in the box 😕

  40. Eddie says:

now that was an exciting first half
    the paint has almost dried

  41. Big Raddy says:

Rasp. I agree about the intensity especially at the back.

I guess the disadvantage of playing attacking FB’s is the space left on the wings. Twice we have escaped thanks to poor finishing.

Up front, loving it especially Iwobi.

And Ox had a cracking half.

  42. mickydidit89 says:

It was one of those halves where I don’t really know what I thought

Maybe I’ve overdosed on lemsip max

  43. Big Raddy says:

Good to see our defence are trying to even up the game.

    Come on boys, shape up

  44. mickydidit89 says:

    Straight red
    he he he 🙂

  45. Rasp says:

We’re getting stuck in now Raddy …. the Ox outmuscling Huddleston despite giving away about 2 stone

  46. Big Raddy says:

Sometimes it seems as though Hull have more players than us.

Did I miss a sending off?

Hopefully Hull will run out of steam in the final 10 and our supersub will punish them

  47. mickydidit89 says:

Phew, not the substitution I feared 🙂

  48. Rasp says:

We need that second goal ……

  49. Rasp says:

We’ve dropped off again … not good …:

  50. Rasp says:

Good subs .. the Ox and iwobi tiring

  51. Eddie says:

that’s better from Arsenal: 14 attempts on goal 5 on target and 1 hand ball, we are moving in the right direction

  52. Eddie says:

    make it 2 hand balls

  53. mickydidit89 says:

    Stubborn minnows
Essential three points, although not pretty to watch

  54. Rasp says:

Phew…:. We now need the dippers to beat the scum 5-0

  55. Rasp says:

I’m impressed with the Hull manager 🙂

  56. mickydidit89 says:

4-0 and we rightly go ahead on alphabetical order 🙂

  57. mickydidit89 says:

I was thinking what a miserable bastard he looked 🙂

  58. Rasp says:

🙂 Micky … it was a comment for Eddie 🙂

  59. Rasp says:

Hull covered more ground than us ….. the 10th time this season we’ve been out worked … I think that is where our major problem lies

  60. wally says:

My only meaningful contribution is that perez is a better option than walcott.

  61. Big Raddy says:

It was easy to see why Hull beat with L’pool and drew with MU, they were very good and could easily have taken the points.

There has to be a major improvement before BM or we will get smashed.

That said, 3 points in the bag. Happy days.

  62. IanRealGunner says:

Not a great performance but the was the most important thing. Big focus on the handball, but surely it has to be intentional – look at Clucas’ handball in the first half when it struck him in the penalty area. That wasn’t handball either (rightly).

  63. OMG that was cold 😦 but three points is a great result even though it wasn’t particularly fabulous.

Still don’t understand was Perez could have done wrong.

Is Danny only going to play 10 minutes forevermore?

Theo got nicely riled up by their no5 🙂 pulled his sleeves up but then kept largely out of his way lol

  64. GunnerN5 says:

    Player – Goals (Penalty)
    Alexis Sánchez – 17 (2)
    Romelu Lukaku – 16 (0)
    Diego Costa – 15 (0)
    Zlatan Ibrahimović – 15 (1)
    Jermain Defoe – 14 (5)
    Harry Kane – 14 (4)
    Kun Agüero – 11 (3)
    Dele Alli – 11 (0)
    Eden Hazard – 10 (2)
    Christian Benteke – 9 (2)
    Sadio Mané – 9 (0)
    Michail Antonio – 8 (0)
    Olivier Giroud – 8 (0)
    Llorente – 8 (0)
    Roberto Firmino – 8 (0)
    Gylfi Sigurðsson – 8 (3)
    Theo Walcott – 8 (0)

  65. Big Raddy says:

Peaches. It looked a bit parky. I am sure the Hull manager wished he had brought a scarf.

  66. GunnerN5 says:

My thoughts on the game are that for all the skill and ability that Ozil possesses it’s only on display occasionally and I believe that he should be sat out. His defensive play is abysmal and his energy levels are not up to scratch Just why Perez only gets a few minutes a game is beyond my comprehension I would use him in place of Ozil.

We sorely miss a creative midfielder and our season is less than the sum of our parts due to the absence of one and not having Cazorla has left us with a huge hole.

Today we were lethargic and as usual, at least on TV and according to the commentators, the crowd was not fully supportive and sighed every time a pass was misplaced.

We are not firing on all cylinders and need a few doses of inspiration.

  67. mickydidit89 says:

Wow, the rugger puts things into perspective

Very entertaining. Not dull at all.

Sadly, I agree about Mesut, but I like watching him so much I created my away to Bayern formation to include him, while relieving him of the No10 role.

Can any bright sparks here read anything into today’s line up, and substitutions, ahead of Bayern?

  68. chas says:

Poor spuddies. 2-2 would do us.

  69. It’s about time spuds got smashed 🙂 but knowing L’pool they could still let them in.

    Come on the draw 😉

  70. mickydidit89 says:

    Chas Peaches
    Is it a good game?

  71. It’s always good if spuds are losing 🙂

Liverpool’s attack is quick and their passing is crisp

  72. Just realised that we go there next. Nah they’re not that great lol

  73. mickydidit89 says:

    Quick and crisp eh
    Spuds losing is excellent news

  74. chas says:

The little glimpses of the rugby I’ve had, it seems like England are being overrun. Is that true?

  75. How were the moaners near you today chas? The two in front of me missed the pen, they’ve missed so many goals this season #sillybillies

  76. JKRowling and Piers Morgan having a spat on Twitter – very funny

  77. chas says:

You know the arsehole who Gary Neville called an idiot. He sits in our row 5 seats away.

  78. chas says:

Just watched the last 15 mins of the rugby.

  79. chas says:

Have you seen the clip with Jim Jefferies telling Morgan to eff off and giving him the finger?
    Superb again.

  80. mickydidit89 says:

    Absolutely amazing game of rugger

  81. Big Raddy says:

Brilliant game of rugby. So exciting.

  82. Yes chas, jkrowling posted a tweet about that interview and piers Morgan retaliated

  83. Did England win the rugby?

  84. Is the guy with the banner a bit of a celebrity now?

  85. Eddie says:

so much for me supporting spurs, useless so and so’s

in the 6 top mini league we are bottom, not good in big games.

oh well, nobody is perfect I suppose

  86. Supporting spuds?????????? Are you nuts Eddie, only time they get any support is when my baby spud is playing and they its only for him cos he’s such a sweetie.

  87. chas says:

  88. LB says:

There is something in drafts, it needs pics and publishing.
