Black Cats in the Cup – Not For Long?

This is a mobile pre-match from your roving disgraceful supporters Ant and Duck. Apologies for any lack of quality. BR has technical difficulties.

Rumours are that Fat Sam will field a weakened Sunderland line-up. No-one rates the FA Cup anymore except Micky.

Who would you like to see play today for the good guys?

Ant and Duck predicted line-up

Ospina

Gibbo Gabriel BFG Debuchy

Chambers Arteta

Ramsey

Ox Giroud Walcott

Sunderland is one of our favourite away trips, but we really could do without a replay. Will our second string have enough to beat their ‘weakened’ team?

I’d imagine we’ll have a strong bench in case of emergencies.

Fat Sam allegedly said that a full press causes leg injuries – his teams need strong necks!

  11. Ant says:

Do you like my classic best ever Arsenal shirt? XXL Micky?

  12. Duck says:

  13. All nicely tucked in Ant 🙂

Can I enter a tactical bollix comment …….. gonna anyway …..

ARTETA – are you sure? I’m thinking Chambers alongside Ramsey but I bet Ozil starts.

Could this be the game that The Ox finally sheds the body invader that’s hampered him since the start of the season. I hope so, just over three hours to find out 🙂

  14. Duck says:

  15. Ant says:

    Yaya yay a yaya toure

    Kola Toure…love it!

  17. RC78 says:

Ospina – Debs, BFG, Gabs, Gibbs – Ox, Chambers, Arteta – Campbell, Walcott, Jeff

  18. Duck says:

    Peaches
    At last a footie comment.
Ant said that mesut is on the bench according to the training pics. Arteta played for the u21s, maybe a good time to test his dodgy legs?
I quite fancy seeing Rambo at no 10 as well.

  19. Ant says:

Agreed RC we think Campbell will play .we forgot him in a mist of snacks and fizzy nonsense blurring

  20. I wouldn’t mind Rambo at no 10 either if the two behind him were solid ……… I know, oh ye of little faith 🙂

    Is Alexis in the squad?

  21. Ant says:

Whatever the team for us, I think the Makems will be worse

  22. Ant says:

Would love to seeJeffagain but mayo best from the bench?

  23. Duck says:

    Peaches
Do you think we need a fuuly functioning double pivot against Cattermole and Defoe?
    Maybe we do.

  24. Ant says:

Mayo is a hellmans of a player

  25. Ant says:

Regardless of any tigers or ocelots in the bedroom.. I am excited at the thought of Ant and Duck on the posters list

  26. Duck says:

Not much left. 15 mins to St Pancras.

  27. Ant says:

    That sums it all up

    Tony Adams

  28. Ant says:

    28 responses.. 25 from Ant and Duck..sorry

  29. Ant says:

On that note we are off!!!!!

  30. Duck – I just know what we’re like if we concede ………… blind panic sets in and before long we’ve conceded two or three trying to play catch up 😦

………. even against the Orcs ……………

  31. See you in a while x

  32. Brilliant post lads. I don’t usually read posts, they disoriente me.

I dont like Fat Sam. He goes round sneering at anybody who’s got lower cholesterol and wanks less than him, so that’s basically everybody. He should get one of those Fit Bit watches and stick it on his cock.

The Ghosts of the Thirties are Stirring

  33. Ant says:

    Terry 😂

  34. Rasp says:

Thanks guys, a much better PM than those complicated tactical bollix versions that Raddy produces 🙂
It would be good to see some new faces in the side today, hopefully both Iwobi and Jeff will get time on the pitch

  35. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Superb work Ant ‘n Duck 🙂 🙂

So, under my leadership we’d be in the Conference would we 🙂

Maybe, but hell we’d score a shed load of goals, and of course, win the greatest knock out tournament in the world each and every season.

    One trick ponies 🙂

  36. MickyDidIt89 says:

I hope, and think, Arsene will start his strongest side.

    Peaches
I have a feeling Sanchez has been ruled out of the Pool game as well.

  37. Gööner In Exile says:

Afternoon all G’s party about to start so won’t know score til final whistle…..well unless other Dads are tuning in.

Dippers showed why you don’t field too weak a team, but my guess is that side played better than a mush mash would’ve done hence why Lallana was left on the bench. Struggling to see why he was taken.

I’d like at least 8 second stringers in the line up, either that or at least eight first stringers.

Half and half leads to misery.

  38. fatgingergooner says:

    Interesting team.

I’m guessing it will look something like this:-

    Cech
    Bellerin Gabriel Koscielny Gibbs
    Ox Chambers
    Walcott Campbell Iwobi
    Giroud

  39. fatgingergooner says:

Does this mean the end of Debuchy? Can’t even get a run in the FA Cup when we have a big game in a few days time.

Need to see a big performance from Ox today in a central role, assuming that’s where he starts.

  40. GunnerN5 says:

Arsenal substitutes: Macey, Debuchy, Arteta, Ramsey, Monreal, Reine-Adelaide, Willock

Arsenal XI: Cech, Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Gibbs, Chambers, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Campbell, Walcott, Iwobi, Giroud

  41. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Bloody Nora
Do not like that team. Cannot see the creative spark in midfield
    Oh well, fingers crossed

  42. GoonerB says:

Thanks Duck. By the time I bloody get on the team is already announced so your question of who I want to play is a moot point. I will tell you my preference anyway just for sheer bloody mindedness, and you can also tell that dodgy bro of yours that, “yes I do know which blade of grass each player should be operating in as well”.

I would have liked to see the Ox from the left in the Sanchez role, Walcott up front, and Jeff or Serge on the right. The rest of the team I leave to Vengerrr 🙂

Does my opinion matter? Does it hell. Has my opinion ever mattered? Has it hell. Micky, however, values my opinion and that is all a modern metrosexual camel wormer needs these days.

  43. MickyDidIt89 says:

    GB 🙂
I think I’m quite glad my usual stream thing isn’t showing it.
The team looks awful to me, but hopefully the players will be hungry to impress, and can manage to work out what system Arsene is deploying 🙄
Ok, off to find a transistor

  44. fatgingergooner says:

    1-0 down already. Not good.

  45. fatgingergooner says:

    1-1 Campbell!

Going to be eventful by the looks of it.

  46. fatgingergooner says:

Sky reporter who is covering the game saying that he’s been told Monreal is close to signing a new deal to 2019.

  47. kelsey says:

it is Micky ,scroll down to 11,12 or 13.

  48. MickyDidIt89 says:

Oh brilliant Crystals thank you v v much

Bloody horrible first half. No Telly, no stream and just updates on talk sport

    Superb, can tune in

So 1-1 eh. Two goals is a good start.

  49. MickyDidIt89 says:

Half time, and it took be under 2 mins to have a leak, get a fizzy drink and savoury snack, both of which I can enjoy from my armchair

Up the casual fan and up the gunners

  50. kelsey says:

A really entertaining game, a real cup tie, but would like to see Walcott be more influencial.

  51. kelsey says:

Lovely worked goal,Bellerin would be better as a winger IMO

  52. Rasp says:

The ref has been appalling 😦

  53. kelsey says:

Your man again, Micky and Bellerin yet again, who needs Walcott 😉

  54. Rasp says:

That was about the clearest penalty I’ve ever seen!!

  55. kelsey says:

    Stone wall penalty, not given.

You alright kelsey ? Yes, yourself 😉

  56. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Jefffff hooray

  57. fatgingergooner says:

Sounds like it’s been a belting game. Look forward to the highlights tonight aslong as we hang on the win of course!

  58. kelsey says:

Bellerin given man of the match by the commentators,I agree 100%

  59. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Superb
So pleased. Would love us to win three on the trot
    Entertaining second half
Shame I missed Iwobi’s first half, as it sounded good

  60. kelsey says:

2 minutes for a leak ,is the stand out comment.

  61. MickyDidIt89 says:

Leak, beverages, snacks and back in seat 🙂

  62. fatgingergooner says:

Great result, but not sure about the team decisions.

Sounds like Ospina had an injury which is fair enough, but Bellerin is being run into the ground at the moment and probably could’ve done with a rest.

Playing our only 2 strikers was probably a bit risky too and I always cringe when Kozzer plays these type of games.

We seem to have got through unscathed though and I suppose we will find out in midweek how the decisions affect the team

  63. MickyDidIt89 says:

How did they line up in the first half?

Usual rules. Defence doesn’t matter 🙂

  64. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Right. Daughters Taxi service calling.

  65. Aaron says:

Enjoyable to watch! End to end in second half.
Really wanted OX to score and he hit the post again…grrrrrr
He actually drove forward well today, held on to the ball a few more times than preferred, but when he lost it at least he ran like hell to get it back.
    Cech is a Zen master.
Bellerin a blur. Wish he would get some rest, Debuchy has turned into a whiny little idget.
Great to see Campbell get a great goal, he should work with Theo as he could not hit crap today. Ramsey showed what foot you take the cross with and scored in a similar situation.
D was shaky at times, but was really impressed with Gibbs.
The passing was zippy and the final 3rd had some great one two’s.
    Overall-Arsenal advance without replay.
    Let smash Pool on Wednesday.

  66. Fred Dibnah says:

    Nice stacks!

  67. Fred 1969 says:

Twelve pins good. We won. I’ll book a flight next time. Would like to meet Eddie or Micky for travel tips.

  68. Ox played really well..good game.

  69. chas says:

Fantastic day, hope you enjoyed it , Vic.
Superb seeing Peaches and Rasp plus mauled by feral cat hand.
    Back in Notts for 8.

  70. Johnnie R says:

    Japan is a dishpan

  71. Ant says:

Roll on Wednesday and another game we are attending as disgraceful supporters.
    Byeeeee

  72. Rasp says:

Great to hook up with di’Vines again today.
I wasn’t worried when we went 1 nil down. If kozzer has to make a mistake, this was the game, I wonder if he’d have pfaffed about so much if merts had been beside him.
Good performances from Gibbs, Bellerin and Campbell. Iwobi looked perfectly at ease in the side and showed constantly for the ball and Jeff nearly scored with his 2nd touch – I predict he will be the Diaby we never saw 🙂

  73. RockyLives says:

Well well well… and Ant & Duck post. Profound, informative and insightful, I reckon. BR will be looking over his shoulder from now on… 🙂

Main thing was to avoid a reply. Good performances by Belli and Joel in particular.

Chambers continues to look the kind of decent player he was when he first arrived.

Oxo was some good some not-so-good. I think it will come back for him and we fans need to be patient with him.

Nice to see Arteta back and fit and to see the Jeff getting a run. Iwobi looks a talent, too.

All in all a tidy afternoon’s work.

  74. Rasp says:

Hi Rocky, could you hear the fans singing Wemberleee when we went 2:1 up?

  75. Ant says:

Micky is the kind of supporter that Eddie loves

  76. RockyLives says:

Yes Rasp – very nice too it was.

  77. LB says:

Post written, do you want it now or in the morning?

  78. Rasp says:

Great stuff LB, we would like to publish it in the morning if that’s ok 🙂

  79. LB says:

Fine Rasp, I will put it in drafts.

  80. Red Arnie says:

nice and quiet. not much to complain about. all fine then.

Knot ear, and in another corner of the world. without much internet.

‘appy New Year, all, a belated Nappy Yew Hear! 🙂

As far as myself goes, awaiting Feb for the clash of the titans: I mean us and Barca.

oh, and finally, HWBAY. Have we? 🙂

  81. MickyDidIt89 says:

    He breathes
    He’s alive
    Hello Beardy

    Morning Chas

  82. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Chas

Well done. I think you and Ant behaved bearably, so that’s a massive step in the right direction.

You also got me googling some culture stuff. I never use King’s Cross, and had therefore never seen the bronze statue of Lady and Man, or The Embrace as I now know it’s called.

There’s also a bronze of poet John Betjeman staring up at the amazing ceiling somewhere. He was instrumental in saving the building back in the 60’s

    Cat vid?

  83. chas says:

Oh, and it’s St Pancras, dear boy.

  84. MickyDidIt89 says:

My God, he strikes the pose of a poet 🙂

    St. P. Indeedy

  85. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Just watching MOTD

Love the muddy goal mouth at Eastleigh

  86. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Have to love The Cup

Underdogs, shite pitches, rain, mud, shattered dreams, blubbing minnow children. Superb.

  87. kelsey says:

    Our latest signing.

  88. kelsey says:

Si it’s not “on me head”” but ” on me tongue” 😉

  89. MickyDidIt89 says:

Everton Dagenham up next, and there’s a cat on the pitch 🙂

  90. Eddie says:

there is nothing more beautiful than a small Spanish midfielder and nothing more horrid than Duck @12:05. I just couldn’t leave that one alone

where is my santi? if he doesn’t come back he will be replaced with Beyerin

  91. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Eddie is back. Hoorah

Sadly, Santi is sick, and equally sadly, Ollie is not 🙂

I’ve got five minutes before I must go, so is there anything we need to cover?

  92. LB says:

Santi just tweeted: “Please don’t leave me Eddie, please”

  93. MickyDidIt89 says:

    LB
Bravo on the post. Looking forward to reading very much
Might have to wait an hour or so.

  94. Eddie says:

    too late 🙂

  95. Eddie says:

    only Duck’s gut

  96. Duck says:

How dare you. 12.05 isn’t me.

  97. Eddie says:

no 🙂 🙂 oh I am so sorry Ant

  98. Eddie says:

well, it ain’t skinny Chas, so who the hell is it?? Surely you didn’t take photos of strangers’ exposed bodily parts?

  99. Morning all

We have a New post ……………………

  100. GoonerB says:

Morning all. Eddie (@9.16). Seriously??? I wouldn’t put it past them…….Met the 2 reprobate brothers a few times now and they are great fun but I count myself lucky to have got away largely unscathed to date. The same can’t be said of many other people…….now largely to be found in mental institutions.
