4-1 to The Arsenal. Talking Points.

–   CB’s. In a week when Arsene spoke about The Transfer Market, CB’s and Koscielny, up pops Debuchy in the middle to join another RB , Chambers, to stake a claim as a multi-functional defender. Didn’t see this one coming, but memories of very accomplished performances at the heart of the defence by Bac sprung to mind.

–   Bellerin. “Oh Hector, you are a very good player, and aren’t you the one who can go faster than Theo?”. Watching him yesterday and a song popped into my head, and for the more mature reader, you’ll remember the “you’ll never beat Des Walker”. Speed is such a great asset.

–    Ollie and Danny. It’s effective, but I remain firmly in the either/or camp. I believe Danny will go on to become a really exceptional CF, and it will be interesting to see how things pan out once Mesut returns.

–   One Arsene Wenger. Doesn’t matter whether you think we need a new Manager or not, how nice to see the fans getting behind The Boss after the shit he received last week.

–   The Midfield.  Flamini The Anchor behind the aggressively creative drive of Santi and The Ox. This I like very much. Yes I reckon The DM is the one position more than any other where a “Worldy”  would be improve the side the most dramatically, but this formation had really nice balance.

–   The Ox. Always save the best for last. And exactly what did you think I was going to say about him? Me, blinkered? No, just right on the money J

–   The Match. Five goals, and four of them for us. The early goal to lift the crowd, end to end stuff, and some really nice speedy quality football. It was a good day at the office any way you look at it. We’re set up nicely for a Christmas Push.

    Micky. Super positive post.

Where is kelsey to shoot it down?

As always it was difficult to tell from the television but it appeared that when Bellerin went forward Gibbs was more restrained in his attacking movement.

    Could someone who went confirm?

  3. chas says:

    Excellent, Micky.
Things went right for us yesterday. It makes such a nice change.
    Fa la la la la.

Didn’t hear a peep out of the moaners. An early goal just leaves them floundering. 🙂

    First comment in moderation.

  4. chas says:

    I can’t confirm anything. BR.
The whole game was a beautiful joyous blur of wonderfulness. 🙂

  5. arnie says:

    Brilliant summary, Micky. 🙂

I have said this before. IMO the main difference has been moving the fulcrum up from BFG to Flamster. You need someone who will move less and hold the shape of the team. 🙂

Also, I think Raddy is right. some defensive discipline.

The Ox was brilliant, and Santi and Alexis. Back 4 competent, huge credit particularly to young Bellerin and out-of-position Bushy, and Szcz was good.

Sod the poor first touch, what I like about Welbz is his never say die attitude. Plus his ability to get into positions. But the way AAers and other fans hounded Giro and welcomed Danny was disgraceful. What about a 20-goal-a season Danny now?

It will come, I think, as Micky says, but in two year’s time. We are LUCKY that until such time, there will be Giro to chip in with the goods. And in two years we will have Sanogo as well. Who needs to buy strikers? Not us, IMO. 🙂

Let us buy some more MFs, please, Arsene. 😛 and a defender, perhaps. 🙂

  6. Rasp says:

    Excellent – thanks Micky.

I thought Debuchy was outstanding. He was snuffing out Toon’s attacks high up the pitch – a risky strategy but he hardly missed a tackle and regularly won headers against much bigger players.

  7. Rasp says:

“But the way AAers and other fans hounded Giro and welcomed Danny was disgraceful. What about a 20-goal-a season Danny now? ” …… which AA’ers did that then?

  8. arnie says:

Rasp. No naming and shaming! 😛

  9. Rasp says:

I definitely agree the side had a great balance to it. There were no passengers, no one hid, there was movement, incredible work rate and bite to the tackles …. the best 90 minute team performance of the season IMO 😀

  10. Rasp says:

I don’t recall anyone hounding Giroud arnie 🙂

  11. arnie says:

    nice vids, Chas. 🙂

get out of bed soon, Peaches. 🙂

  12. arnie says:

    I do, Rasp. 😦

  13. arnie says:

The other thing which makes a difference is everyone fighting for the ball in 50-50 situations everywhere on the pitch. This fighting attitude owes itself somewhat to Alexis, I think. 🙂

  14. Nice one micky

Isn’t it a nice warm feeling to be positive 🙂

All those Cat and Dog videos on the last stream seem to sum it up quite well. Get better soon Peaches xxx

  15. arnie says:

    GF sorted then. 🙂

  16. Gööner In Exile says:

Well done Micky, yes I liked Ox a lot yesterday, I feel sometimes in the middle he could benefit from a simpler pass earlier as sometimes he waits a bit too long to find the better option and can get crowded out and play a hurried pass under pressure. However it’s tricky to change from wing to middle.

As I said earlier in the season id much rather he fought for a place with Jack and Ramsey (probably more Ramsey) than out wide with Theo, Alexis etc.

We have more than capable three from six up top when everyone is fit for him to concentrate on what will become his best position.

I still think an Arsenal midfield of Jack, Ox and Ramsey could be very very good, if the defence stays more solid.

Raddy I did notice on occasion both full backs going forward, it’s normally when we meet the bus and need to circulate the ball to create better angles. But it wasn’t as gung ho as we have seen in the past.

A small mention of Szczesny yesterday too a superb double save that kept it at 1-0, I think conceding then would have been very dangerous.

    First comment still in moderation.

  18. MickyDidIt89 says:

Thanks Lads, short and to my points, I know 🙂

  19. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Arnie/Rasp

It was me giving Pants Down a hard time and rightly so. I deserved it. Here’s why.

I was the first to write a post on here saying how wonderful he was and how, in fact, he is exceptionally good with his feet. Much underrated is what I said, and at a time when things weren’t looking great for him.

Reality. As a footballer, he’s not my type of CF. Too slow, BUT, I do see his immense value to the team. Never denied that. Just said he is not a top six side first choice CF.

Then, and this is the biggie. I hate players who roll around fake injured. and he is terrible.

Ok, final thing, I always support any player when they play for The Arsenal.

  20. MickyDidIt89 says:

Swansea Totnum. Could be funny 🙂

  21. ‘morning all, just.

Well done Micky, On Giroud I was somewhat surprised that he scored two very different goals. The first a typical centre-forward’s effort, a late run into the box and a very good leap and superb header. The second a deft flick with the outside of the foot at the near post.

All in all an excellent performance in general.

Was our defence partcularly good? Or were The Barcodes fairly poor in their attacking? A bit of each, I suspect.

  22. kelsey says:

Well done, mu understudy, Giroud lover 🙂

I have to say that yesterday was the most enjoyable PL game I have seen this season.

There really must have been some bolloxing after Stoke and we were up for it from the first minute, as a unit.

Competition for places will be a good thing.

Tiote should have seen red, but then again refs make bad calls in every game.

IMO Podolski only played in Turkey to put him in the shop window for January, despite his goals, which might enhance his value.
There were so many good performances but a special mention to Bellerin who played like a seasoned pro.AW

  23. kelsey says:

Oops AW must keep him at RB never again at LB.

Of course stating the bleeding obvious there is only one Arsene Wenger 🙂

  24. Welcome back Kelsey, the young Didit did OK in your absence, but he’ll be on the bench next week. 😀

  25. Right, a few things to do now before settling down to watch a blood bath at Old Toilet and a pantomime in Swansea.

    Have fun folks.

  26. So what are peoples thoughts on the Man U v Pool result? What’s the best for us…. a draw or Pool to win?

  27. Afternoon all. I was at the game and found that after the first goal went in the atmosphere was quite chilled.

i was in the North bank lower and that tradiotonally has a lot of moaners who, for example when there was Toon corner shouted “f***ing get someone on the far post you w****s”.

But they seemed to melt away later and bizarrely joined in the “One Arsene Wenger” singing later.

    Do what ?

  28. Thanks for the bullet point report Mdi89. Mine will be up on 7amkickoff later.
Also I saw Chas refer to my failure to turn up at the Tavern, that was mainly due to leaving home late (blame the old ball & chain for that one) and not getting to Gillespie Road till just before 5.

Mind you I didn’t hear from the Peacher and I sort of assumed there was no pre match at the Tavern so I didn’ rush after my late departure.

    Excuses, excuses I know . 😦

  29. RockyLives says:

Your points are sharp and shiny Micky – an enjoyable read about an enjoyable game.

As Rasp says, probably our most complete 90 mins of the season so far.

I feel that the Flamster has changed his game in recent matches – holding much more and being less of box-to-box man, which is his natural instinct. When he holds we look more secure if the opposition break, even when goths FBs are well advanced.

Oxo was excellent – but he will be so much better: his touch, control and passing were a little off (particularly first half) but he caused havoc by running at the Barcodes. Like GiE says, he perhaps needs to take the simpler option sometimes. We have seen both Ramsey and Wilshere go through that learning curve (where they dwell on the ball in MF a bit too much and end up turning over possession). As Ox matures and his confidence grows, he will learn that lesson too.

  30. RockyLives says:

Don’t know about anyone else, but a ‘Pool win for me today please.

ManUre have been playing crap and getting some lucky 3-pointers (e.g. against us). They will spend big again in January, so they need taking down a peg or two.

  31. RockyLives says:

Blimey – we moan about our defending – that was a shocker from Liverpool.

  32. arnie says:

    Micky. 🙂

welcome back Kelsey. 🙂 nice one.

  33. arnie says:

Rocky. yes, shocking defending. twice. 😦

I thought it was a good experiment playing without any striker, but they just shot themselves in the foot.

    offside though.

  34. RockyLives says:

Typical – United’s second is blatantly offside.

  35. Gööner In Exile says:

How the hell is the lino not giving that, or at least asking Atkinson if he got a touch, surely you stick the flag up and have a conflab, not flagging means you think he was onside, ball was in back of net wasn’t going to cause a commotion……and video replay would have decided that in 5 seconds

  36. Gunnerjoe says:

FA can’t have Manu out of the top four another year how many goals in this current run should not have been given.

  37. arnie says:

is it the pressure of Rednose sitting in the stands? who knows? for a society steeped in idolatry, it is not surprising! 😦

  38. arnie says:

GiE. Answer to you question from yesterday. I for one would not want our team to play a boring game. 🙂

In professional life, results perhaps matter more than the process. However, with Arsenal, it is exactly the opposite. At least for me. 🙂

  39. Excellent game at Old Trafford. Bad decision for Utds second, defo touched by Van P and offside. Interesting that if they give the assist to VP then that confirms the offside??

  40. RockyLives says:

Sterling should have had a hat trick. His finishing is appalling.

  41. Sterling should have scored three goals in this game. Last one, just de Gea to beat and fails.

  42. RockyLives says:

    🙂

  43. RockyLives says:

Still think the Dippers could get a draw if they can just get the first – but they don’t look like it at the mo.

  44. RockyLives says:

Is it me or is the commentators’ love for De Gea a bit OTT?

They made him MoTM in our recent game against them even though every shot was straight at him – and his saves today have all been pretty regulation.

Not saying he’s not a good ‘keeper (and I guess given that so many shots go straight at him his positioning must be very good) but there’s a bit of a love-in going on.

  45. arnie says:

The Pool team looks tasty. when are we playing them? COYG. 🙂

  46. Eddie says:

nice one micky, thanks. Yes, Ox is brilliant and growing in stature with each game. Could he be another DB10 one day?

Santi played so well that I began to worry he wants to leave

  47. Eddie says:

A draw for Pool? I think not.

  48. Gööner In Exile says:

You’d think these young coaches would be able to deal with the counter attack when you’re committing men forward to get a goal 🙄

Still think a draws on Rocky.

Must say De Gea is a fine shot stopper, but still not challenged enough at crosses for me to decide that he deserves such high praise.

The player Rodgers dropped is also a fine shot stopper, but is proven to be absolute pants at the stuff you have to be good at in the top echelons of the league. It’s why Fab1 will be a great keeper for Swansea.

  49. Eddie says:

Rocky – I said it a few months ago that van del Gaal or what’s his name is an expert at getting crap teams winning games. Sadly I was right. The opposite applies to Rogers, on paper Pool look good

  50. RockyLives says:

Don’t get carried away arnie 🙂

Our lads will be going to Anfield with that 6-1 thrashing in their minds.

Even though ‘Pool have been pants today, it won’t be an easy game next week.

  51. RockyLives says:

Yes Iwona, you were right about Louise

  52. Big Raddy says:

The difference between the two teams is MU can afford more expensive players. Falcao on the bench?

  53. RockyLives says:

Balotelli is a waste of space. Can’t believe so many Arse fans were wanting us to buy him.

  54. RockyLives says:

The big difference is finishing, BR

  55. Eddie says:

Lee – I was one of those fans, guilty as charged

  56. Big Raddy says:

    RL. Still money though.

  57. RockyLives says:

    Straight at De Gea again

  58. Gööner In Exile says:

On what paper do Pool look good? Tracing paper and another bunch of names underneath?

They fell into the Southampton love in trap.

Lallana good PL player, CL? Not a chance especially not at 26, same goes for Lambert at 32. And Lovren, a player Lyon hawked around Europe for 2 seasons trying to convince anyone to take him off them, Southampton did, one good season Liverpool raided.

Rodgers spent £117m last summer, and his best players are still mainly those who were at the club when he joined (apart from Sturridge and Coutinho).

  59. RockyLives says:

True, but if Sterling had put away even one of his three one-on-ones it would have been a very different game on the day.

  60. Eddie says:

yeah, tracing paper 🙂 sterling, Sturridge, Llalana, Balotteli, Gerrard, Glen Johnson, Mankillo, Lucas, Coutinho, Sakho, all good players. A tad unlucky today.

  61. arnie says:

Unfortunately, Rocky, our fans always suffer from “the grass is always greener … ” syndrome. Any Tom, Dick or Harry in any other team is always better than our own. 🙂

  62. De Gea has had an excellent game…. he makes it look easy but his positioning is superb

  63. arnie says:

About our trip to Scouseland, I have already reserved a place behind the sofa. 😛

  64. I’ll join you Arnie 🙂

But going by their inability to score, I think we could grab a win.

  65. arnie says:

Sorry, but Pool is really woeful. None of these numpties on show today will get into our team. That includes Gerrard who I hold in high regard. 😦

  66. arnie says:

    your most welcome, NorthBank. 🙂

Sterling may get a place on the bench, perhaps. 🙂

  67. Very good game, shame the scousers couldn’t put their chances away.

  68. oh well, at least we’ll be able to have a laugh with the next game coming up 🙂

  69. I reckon Siggy and Bony will give the Spuds a good pealing……

  70. Big Raddy says:

Hope so. Never can tell with this Jekyll and Hyde Spurs team.

    Same Same but Different

  71. Bloody hell, I was locked out of AA…… well Spuds aren’t giving me many laughs at the moment.

  72. arnie says:

Bony should also have had a hattrick. cannot believe some wanted him in our team! 😛

  73. stop moaning Arnie….. you’re starting to sound like Kelsey ha ha

  74. Swansea getting back into the game…. I can see Bony getting a goal in 2nd half

  75. arnie says:

I hope Bony scores two in the 2nd half. 😛

  76. Big Raddy says:

Can’t believe Spurs still have 11 players. Two clear reds and Walker should have had two yellows

  77. There you go… that gave me a Bony

  78. If anyone wants a look at some fuzzy pics of yesterday’s match they’re over here. http://www.7amkickoff.com/2014/man-at-the-match-chary-green-shoots-of-arsenal-recovery/

  79. arnie says:

    nice stuff, Chary. 🙂

  80. That was disappointing… wish I hadn’t wasted one and a half hours watching it 😦

  81. Bayonne Jean says:

As soon as Swans brought on Shelvey, I figured they’d lose; should have ended at 1-3. Is there any way he can be loaned back to ‘Pool for next week?

Also, Brendan is staying with his sub keeper for their midweek game and likely for Arsenal. Let’s hope so; he looks shaky.

  82. Thanks Arnie. A game worth getting your frozen extremities for ha ha.

  83. Big Raddy says:

That was unfortunate. Swansea by far the best team but lose

  84. arnie says:

yes, Raddy, such is life! who still wants Bony in the Arsenal? 😛

  85. Gööner In Exile says:

I’m happier facing Jones rather than Mignolet, Mignolet is at his weakest on crosses, but I feel we don’t often pick up the scraps so he’d probably have an afternoon saving shots from all angles and when he drops one we won’t be there to benefit.

In reality we have to hope they win midweek, that’ll give them some false hope. Hoping seek is enough for Kozzer to recover because I’d rather the experience of Debuchy against Sterling than young Bellerin.

  86. Gööner In Exile says:

I have just done swingo and despite being 7 points down on last season like for like I’m still predicting 4th. Also predicting City to win title and Chavs to come second. Only them, and ManUre from traditional rivals are showing points increase compared to last season.

  87. MickyDidIt89 says:

    We want the swinger
    We want the swinger

ps Can you explain it quickly Exile? 🙂

  88. MickyDidIt89 says:

Surf Fans, or Chas as he’s known.

No start till 11:45 HST (Hawaiian Standard Time) 9:45pm here 😦
And Slater goes in last Heat 12. So 30 mins per heat and…. 😦

  89. arnie says:

    GiE, Micky. 🙂

  90. arnie says:

Micky, will you post the link once more, pls? I will try and catch a bit of it tonite. 🙂

  91. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Here you go Arnie

    http://www.aspworldtour.com/events/2014/mct/730/billabong-pipe-masters/live

Very exciting. Yesterday massive waves. Big today, then getting smaller as week goes on, so tonight is a good idea.

    Three surfers can still win

    Medina Brazil
    Fanning AUS
    Slater US

  92. MickyDidIt89 says:

    And Arnie
This is the final round. Think last Grand Prix of the year.

  93. chas says:

I did have a look and assumed it was a late kick-off.
I watched the Slater heat from yesterday and was well impressed.

  94. Rasp says:

I’m appalled at the way SiCo is clearly promoting Fleur over Ben. Cowel’s worth £370m, why not let the more musical one win for a change?

  95. Croaking from the sickbay ……… anyone want to write a post for tomorrow please and actually we need loads for this week ……..

The Champs lge draw tomorrow might give someone some meat for a post on Tueday.

  96. They’re both musical Rasp!!!!!! What’s it got to do with how much Simon Cowell is worth?

  97. kelsey says:

Here’s a thought about Giroud, who is marmite to most fans.

3 league goals since his return. All exquisite and completely different.

Now if he could do that regularly that certainly would give us an extra outlet.

  98. Rasp says:

He’s clearly trying to sway the voters, he just said her performance was the highlight of the show. Just look at the production they put into her songs. There are dozens of girl singers like her., at least he’s a not original

  99. Kelsey – how the devil are you?

  100. chas says:

  101. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Exile

Stick up the Swinger tomorrow. Only one line needed.
    “You work it out” 🙂

    Seriously, definitely worth chatting about.

  102. kelsey says:

Simon Cowell is 5″5|” . He wears built up shoes in the inside and cuban heels, therefore adding about 3.5 inches to his height.
I met him in Marbella with Rebecca Loes and Max Clifford and heard some very interesting stories about a famous footballer 🙂

  103. kelsey says:

    I am feeling like the devil,peaches . 😉

  104. I think Giroud has exceeded expectations since his return kelsey and not only with his goals, he seems a bit quicker and because he’s now part of a front three his movement has been very important.

    And he’s so gorgeous

  105. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Crystals

“Now if he could do that regularly that certainly would give us an extra outlet.”

    Or, improved cash flow 🙂

Shit, Arnie’s about. Tin hat on, and back in the trenches 😦

  106. kelsey says:

    In fact it’s bed time.

  107. kelsey says:

I don’t like these half mohican haircuts, myself, as you know.

  108. Rasp says:

On that level we wouldn’t want Messi to play for Arsenal 🙄

  109. MickyDidIt89 says:

Not entirely true Rasp, we’ve got Eddie who thinks Fatso Wayne is gorgeous, so there’s hope for Wee Lionel 🙂

  110. Rasp says:

🙂 Micky, I take it you’re not having to sit through the Simon Cowell anti-music show 😦

  111. I don’t expect Simon thought he’d have two acts in the final. He’s just said he’d like to split the prize and have them both win. Can’t say fairer than that 😉

  112. MickyDidIt89 says:

Oh it’s on, but I’m in a different room 🙂

  113. I agree about the half Mohicans, what a weird hair style

  114. Rasp says:

Actually he’s just said that Fleur ( make me richer) gave the best performance he’s ever seen. He’s clearly got an agenda

  115. Yes, he wants her to make him richer. Do you think he’ll let her walk away if the other guy wins. It’s a win win for him. It’s why he’s so rich and will only get richer lol

  116. Ooooh Ronny Wood too 🙂

  117. Rasp says:

The good news is that the act that comes second often does better. Cowell could just let the public decide and stop trying to manipulate everything. The sycophants on the panel are all campaigning to get on the gravy train next year

  118. MickyDidIt89 says:

Sounds like Peaches is perking up 🙂

  119. MickyDidIt89 says:

It’s not your favourite programme is it Rasp?

  120. Rasp says:

I don’t hate the program Micky but there are certain elements to it that are really crass

  121. Rasp says:

Vote for Ben everyone, he’s a genuine guy not a manufactured product 😆

  122. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Ah ha Rasp
I’ve just got a spelling right for the first time ever.
Saw your program and thought durr, done it again, so looked it up.
    Programme English telly and stuff
    Program English computer bollocks

  123. Rasp says:

    Definitely bollocks Micky 🙂

  124. MickyDidIt89 says:

6 minutes till my telly stream starts.
    Fresh air first.

  125. MickyDidIt89 says:

You’ll understand this Rasp, Oscar passed Grade 6 piano yesterday. Not bad eh
Could make non manufactured music 🙂
    Right, I’m off to Hawaii

  126. Rasp says:

Congrats to Oscar Micky, you must be very proud 😀

  127. Well done to Oscar 🙂

  128. arnie says:

fantastic, Micky, well done Oscar. 🙂

  129. MickyDidIt89 says:

Just told him you both said that. He says “yeah, thanks, solid”
Think that translates as “cheers” 🙂

  130. Rasp says:

Ian Dury, or Ray Davis would never win X Factor

  131. Gööner In Exile says:

Like father like son, wind up merchant and food hog

  132. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Arnie
    He’s 14. Talks funny 🙂

  133. Rasp says:

Great pics GiE, that George is a chip off the old block 🙂

  134. Gööner In Exile says:

Rasp it’s asad fact that when the more musical talent have won X Factor they have singularly failed in the charts after initial success, take Matt Cardel for example.

But then I don’t think it’s actually a place to build a career and why I am often surprised at the musicians who go on there who actually have a talent to write music or play an instrument, get out and gig and hopefully you’ll be seen.

  135. Rasp says:

Yep, agree with that GiE. But at least Dermot is a massive Gooner

  136. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Arnie

    No surfing. Blown Out.

Late nights during the week it is then 🙂

    Nite all

  137. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Exile
Those baby suits look just the gear for winter post surfing 🙂

  138. Rasp says:

Justice for a proper singer (well out of the 2 of them) 😆

  139. Gööner In Exile says:

Reckon you’d be ok in this Micky

  140. Gööner In Exile says:

Actually Micky this may be more the surf thing:

  141. arnie says:

yes, I am around indeed. 🙂 But in a good mood today. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Mrs has been given a medical all clear. Just came to know today. Normal medication will start just before Xmas. 🙂 That is the good news.

However, why would the doctor say someone has a dreaded illness without checking all the facts? That is very sad. 😦

Of course, we could afford it so we went abroad and took second (and third) opinions. So, this prognosis did not come as that much of a surprise. Yes, there was anxiety, but not fear.

Still, it begs the question. Where do all our NI contribs go? Sad, very sad. 😦

  142. Rasp says:

Great news arnie, my best wishes to Mrs arnie

  143. arnie says:

Never mind, Micky. I will follow, certainly Tuesday, if tomorrow does not work out. 🙂

Oscar sounds like a fine chap, should meet him some time. 🙂 and Micky as well. 😛

  144. arnie says:

    lovely photos, GiE. 🙂 wow!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  145. arnie says:

    thank you, Rasp. 🙂

  146. arnie says:

GiE. Mrs and myself saw the pics of Harry and George half and hour ago. We are still watching the pics and laughing. 🙂

  147. VCC says:

Great news Arnie. All the best to Mrs Arnie.

  148. arnie says:

    cheers, VCC. 🙂

  149. arnie says:

Sitar, beware! Ravi Shankar is not my favourite in sitar, it is Ustad Vilayat Khan.

Not great picture quality but here is a rare old private recording, probably early 70’s. Pandit Kishan Maharaj on the tabla. Both are now dead.

what is playing is not a pure raga, but variations on Raga Khamaj.

  150. LB says:

I have a post for tomorrow, I will put it in drafts.

  151. arnie says:

and a more recent recording by the same two artists. Live recorded at Royal Festival Hall in 2002. Raga Bhairavi.

  152. Rasp says:

Thanks LB, we’re in for a treat !

  153. Gööner In Exile says:

Oh dear LB has written a post….who needs to duck for cover?

Glad it brought a smile Arnie. And doubly glad Mrs Arnie is ok 🙂

  154. Gööner In Exile says:

Just a boring point on NI contributions….they go into the melting pot with all the other taxes. And it annoys me that it is still called NI.

  155. arnie says:

LB. helmet, armour, running shoes all in readiness. 🙂

  156. arnie says:

yes, absolutely right GiE, it is stealth tax. 😦

  157. chas says:

    Excellent news about, mrs arnie.

Love the photos of the boys, too.
For some reason Harry makes me think of this……

  158. chas says:

  159. chas says:

  161. chas says:

kelsey has to do this every morning.

  162. chas says:

  163. chas says:

    Chelsea clean!!!!!
I have to go and have a bath after watching them on tv.

  164. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Great news Arnie.

    Exile. Great suits,

  165. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Chas
    Love the cat milking pic.

Have you seen this. The in-water photographer at Pipeline. People rightly see the waves and think scary, but see the bit about what lurks below. The rocky reef just below the surface

  166. MickyDidIt89 says:

    CL Draw today at 1:00

  167. chas says:

If we don’t get Porto or Monaco, I’d like to see us get one of the Madrid clubs.
I suppose we’re nailed on for Bayern or Barcelona again, though.

Apparently we need to come out of the draw early to get one of the smaller teams. The longer we don’t come out the more chance we get Bayern because of all the German clubs can’t play each other type rules.
This means we’ll probably come out first and still get Bayern or Barca. 🙂

  168. chas says:

Micky isn’t CET one hour ahead, so draw at 11am Greenwich?

  169. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Chas
Are you in the “draw is rigged camp”?
    I’m not.
I want Real, Barca, Athletico, Porto in that order.

    Raddy,
If we get Porto, can I bring a wetsuit and surfboard?

  170. MickyDidIt89 says:

Good thinking Chas. I went the wrong way 😦

  171. chas says:

I was talking to Ant about CL ticket availability and Anderlecht sold out to 45+ away points.
I have 19 and Ant 20, so maybe not pack your bags just yet.

    I’m only managing expectations! 🙂

  172. chas says:

I doubt it’s rigged. It just seems like it.

Just as it seems like all refs are bent, hate Arsenal and wish we were broken in two every game.

  173. chas says:

    Gorra go.

  174. MickyDidIt89 says:

Can still pack a board, go to Porto, and watch it on telly there 🙂

  175. Eddie says:

definitely Bayern or Barca, we always do. Monacco would be nice to go to

  176. Eddie says:

micky – I have a serious problem, I need help. The cat did a poo 3 times now under my bed. Why has she started doing that? What can I do to stop her. I am terribly squeamish and if she does it again I will take her to the RSPCA

  177. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Eddie

I understand Big wanting Monaco as he has a gaff nearby, so avoids one of my seedy hotels, and NB as it’s close for him, but Monaco is an awful place. No character whatsoever.

If you aren’t a car or boat spotter, or like looking at orange people with gold jewellery, there’s nothing there.

Madrid has everything, including a team worth bothering to beat. Can’t imagine beating Monaco living long in the memory.

  178. Morning A holes

I’m hoping Monaco…. means I can get to the game. But as just discussed elsewhere…….. the ground has a capacity of three 🙂

Maximum capacity just under 19,000 at AS Monaco. They had 12,500 at the local derby against Marseille yesterday.

  179. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Oh yuk Eddie.

Don’t know. Nose in it and shout?

  180. Eddie says:

I like easy life Micky 🙂 Monaco any day for me. Mind you – orange people are normally not nice, inside or outside.

  181. MickyDidIt89 says:

    NB 🙂

  182. Big Raddy says:

    Morning All,

Eddie. The cat pooed because it hates you. Don’t take it personally – they hate everyone. Horrible creatures.

I don’t want to draw Bayern, anyone else is good.

chas. I had a booth in my first record shop – Loppylugs in Finchley Central – later a few decks with headphones in all my shops. Waste of time but they looked great.

  183. Morning all

Feeling much better now, thank you for all your kind wishes 😉

Fantastic news about Mrs Arnie being given a clean bill of health.

The draw is definitely rigged, hot balls and all that ….. 😉

  184. Eddie

Remember… a pet is for life, just like a football team, through the good and the bad 🙂

  185. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Peaches

Really? Is that how they do it. Cunning and clever in equal measure.

But why would they want us to play Barca or Bayern, just to give the big guns an easier passage to the final? Bloody cheek.

  186. Ahhhhh Raddy and record shops, brings back good memories, even though he doesn’t remember that I was there 😉

  187. Peaches

Raddy was probably so stoned he doesn’t remember being there himself 🙂

  188. The question is why aren’t we a big gun? We’re The Arsenal afterall 🙂

  189. Eddie says:

Raddy – I agree about cats, I thought my Lilly La La was different 😦

I think Rory should have won the trophy last night.

Why did Ally McCoy resigned from Rangers? very strange

  190. NB – there’s no other reason for him not remembering me 😛

  191. MickyDidIt89 says:

Sorry, don’t believe all the ball pluckers, yer Bobby Charltons and yer Figos, are all paid off.

  192. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Eddie
    Rory? Trophy? Who and which?

  193. When Raddy had a record shop it was so long ago he probably had one of these:

  194. Eddie says:

NB – football teams yes, pets yes, cats no.

  195. So Raddy

When we play Monaco can all the AAers go back to your place for a party?

  196. kelsey says:

    Morning all

Great news for your wife arnie.

This CL draw should take 10 or 15 minutes instead of a drawn out two hour thing costing a bomb.

Rodgers at it again. He really isn’t a top flight manager. He needs to think before he talks to the media.

Right off to doctor, hospital and dentist.Just a normal day.

  197. Eddie says:

    no, no luck 😦

micky – SPOTY – sports pers of the year. Hamilton is a nice guy, bit fake though. He probably likes in in Monaco

  198. Kelsey

You forgot the hair dressers 🙂

  199. arnie says:

    motning all. thanks everyone.

yes, the draw is rigged. which means Chavs get PSG and we get Porto or Monaco. 😛

cannot decide whether Dortmund should get Barca or an easy one. Perhaps an easy one so that they can progress just in case we meet them again. This is one team we can definitely defeat. 🙂

  200. Eddie says:

arnie – delighted for your wife, good girl xxx

  201. Bloody typical, I’m sure Eddie does it to me on purpose, I do her a favour and she thanks Norfolk Gooner ha ha

See, no point in tryng to be a nice guy 🙂

  202. LB says:

    Rasp

It is good to go, if you could sharpen the picture or replace it if you want, that would be useful.

  203. arnie says:

    Evonne. xxx

serves you right, NorthBank. You live close to Monaco. But invite all AAers to Raddy’s secret hideout. Not to yours! 😛

  204. arnie says:

lovely pic of the best baby Gooner girl. 🙂 🙂 🙂

  205. Arnie, not that close mate, it’s a three hour drive minimum. And who’d want to come back to my small one bedroomed, third floor housing association flat? I imagine Raddy has a small mansion just over the border ha ha

  206. Eddie says:

sorry NB 🙂 Thank you Chris! Isn’t my granddaughter gorgeous? And she looks very much like her maternal grannie – Peaches to you. Maybe now Raddy will remember her visiting the music shop

Raddy – I have just realised – there were no headphones in those days, were they? BTW, I bought a pair of RHA MA, taaa

  207. MickyDidIt89 says:

Bloody glad Exeter City aren’t in the CL Draw.

Wouldn’t want you lot with yer lewd talk in front of my impressionables! The Missis? Oh that’d be ok, she’d just hit you 🙂

  208. Rasp says:

    Morning all …….

    ….. New post …….

  209. Big Raddy says:

NB Haha. But of course everyone is invited back to my mine if we draw Monaco. Luxury – No. Charm- definitely.

Arnie. Just read back through the comments. Great news about your wife. The NHS doctors should be ashamed, but better to have good health confirmed.

  210. arnie says:

NorthBank. So your studio is not with your house? rented studio?

saw some nice appreciation of your painting of the Mont St. Michel. 🙂

  211. I remember the first time the record shop in Holloway Road introduced headphones in their booths. No one was used to them and you’d be wearing them and shouting to your mates the song was: “FUCKING BRILLIANT” ha ha

  212. arnie says:

thanks Raddy. 🙂 and everyone invited to Aveiro if we draw Porto. 🙂

  213. Without all that blond hair on show she definitely looks like me 😉

  214. arnie says:

    Peaches. 🙂 xxx
