Pepe, AMN, Bellerin…edging closer to the exit

So it seems that our club record signing is on his way to Nice where he will link up with Ramsey on the fancy French coast. He will be going there on loan without an option to buy. He has had great games and crap games and many anonymous games. He is clearly a gifted forward but somehow it did not work out for him at AFC…shame…I am sure he will help Nice a lot in the French league.

AMN is apparently closing on a move to Southampton, Not’Forest, Aston Villa or West Ham but the most likely destinations at this stage are Southampton and Forest. I think he is a very talented player who just never settled in one position. He will be the perfect squad player wherever he goes because of his versatility. Wishing him luck and sad to see a gooner leave…

Bellerin – once the Spanish jewel of our squad, the most expensive player of our squad wanted by the likes of Barcelona, Man City and Bayern Munich…An injury later, some soul searching, a new coach and a loan later…he is ready for new pastures. I think AFC is trying to sell him but he wants to end his contract to join Spain again and most likely Betis

So long good friends of AFC, shame it did not work out for you but I think that all AFC fans recognize your efforts and wish you the best!

I think if all those deals get done the clear out is complete, maybe Reis Nelson but he is injured but if I have got things right that will cross all the Ts and dot the Is nicely. Good luck guys.

This news is somewhat sad. We especially are seeing Pepe leave. It is always hard for the player and the team when you haven’t really got a fair chance to shine. I think we haven’t seen the best of Pepe. However, it is nobody’s fault.
AMN is also a loss. He was a gunner through and through with great hope.
I wish them better luck in the future.

If these 3 leave, we may go in the market for a back-up to Saka (Pedro Neto who can also be a back up for Martinelli) and maybe also a DM/CM (Tielemans?)

RN will stay and there is a question about Sambi…

Then our A + B team would be:

Ramsdale – Tomy, Saliba, Gabs, Zinchenko – Partey, Xhaka – Saka, Ode, Martinelli – Jesus

Turner – Cedric, White, Holding, Tierney – El Neny (recruit?), Sambi (?) – Neto/Recruit, Vieira, ESR – Nketiah

    + Azeez, Nelson, Marquinhos, Taylor-Hart

Certainly they will all move with best wishes as they have not been disloyal or hankered aloud for a move.
They all have however, in my eyes, the same personality trait which prevented them from fulfilling either their potential at Arsenal or in the Premier League in general. Ainsley and Pepe illustrate it best. Laid back ( to almost horizontal on occasions) perpetuated by no consistency of play, even in the same game, let alone over a series of games. Obvious talent, but no drive.
Less evident in Bellerin, but in truth, never believed he was a defensive fullback, capable of showing consistent “solidity” in that position.
Don’t believe they will return, so thanks and good luck.

    Spot on LBG…

  6. LBG says:

    Group A
    Arsenal
    Eindhoven
    Bodo/Glimt ( Nor)
    FC Zurich.

LBG, it’s not Eindhoven, but PSV, or PSV Eindhoven… ‘Eindhoven’, just like that, is the second team of the city. 🙂
The players mentioned in the post are not so much layed back but introverts. Especially AMN and Bellerin are hard working players, but, just like Pepe, they are technically simply not good enough for Artetaball.

  8. LB says:

Like the majority I am on board the Saliba bandwagon, knocking back Tequila like there is no tomorrow, but am I the only one who is getting a bit nervous that we are going a bit over the top. Until now we have only played Palace, Leicester and Bournemouth, not the biggest challenges the young Frenchman will face this season. Today might show us a bit more: Mitrovic will give him a real aerial test, the Serb is not the quickest over the ground so I am not too worried there but in the air, our new defensive poster boy will really have to be on his toes to warrant calls for more Mexican slammers all round.

  9. Maxwell says:

LB – in the air we have the imperious Magalaes. I imagine he will be tasked with neutering the airial threat , as he did last week.

The Palace result is looking better and better, we may have been lucky to catch them undercooked, but we still did the job. They’re going to upset a few fancied teams this season.

    Keep the faith!

  10. LB says:

Thanks for the reply Maxwell. If I appeared to underestimate Palace I didn’t mean to, my point was more about Saliba and the fact that he got off reasonably light as he wasn’t marking Zaha.

Today regarding Mitrovic, Big Gabby will only be able to take care of one side, Saliba will have to take responsibility for the other. Should be interesting, can’t wait.

Shame you regularly want to correct me! There is only one Einhoven in the Europa League. Prefer if you kept your responses to me to yourself!!

    LBG,

PSV Eindhoven play in the Dutch top league. Eindhoven play in the Dutch second league. They are two different teams. Are you too old to learn anything?
