We will be playing the EPL, Europa League and FA Cup next year…3 competitions, we need a squad of up to 26 players including 3 GKs and 2-3 youth players…we already know a large portion of our squad for next year:
GK: Ramsdale, Turner, Okonkwo (3)
DF: Tomy, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Holding, Tierney + Cedric or Bellerin (7)
DM/CM: Partey, Xhaka, El Neny, Zinchenko + Sambi or Vieira + Patino or Azeez (6)
CAM: Ode, ESR (2)
FW: Saka, Martinelli (2)
ST: G. Jesus, Nketiah (2)
That is a total of 22 players already and that already includes Patino or Azeez (one young gun).
There are 4 spots left: including 1 at ST, 2 at FW and 1 for a young player at the back (Norton?).
So we could definitely keep Balogun, Pepe, Nelson or Marquinhos but will they want to stay?
I think it is a clear departure for the Mari, AMN, Torreira though…

I think our squad would benefit from recruiting a player like Harvey Barnes or Filip Kostic to bolster our squad as I am not 100% sure Pepe, Nelson or Marquinhos could really cover for Martinelli in case he is injured…and as indicated previously, we could get someone better than both Cedric and Bellerin at RB but if Cedric stays, all is not lost as long as we keep Norton-Cuffy 🙂

For Vieira, I agree but for Marquinhos, I would not be surprised if he is shipped out on loan
As rightly mentioned the backup don’t bring the same quality I hope he can convince AMN to stay since he is so versatile wouldn’t mind keeping nelson cause he looked good for feynord last season so that the 24 for me not sure who the other 2 should be
What would be the guess as to how much that little lot will fetch?

Don’t believe Vieira or Sambi will be loaned out! Pepe and Nelson to be sold. Marquinos probably loaned. Hope Balogun stays, not sure he will.
Who we loan or not loan will be influenced by what other business we do between now and August 31st, but we’re going to need a big squad so it wouldn’t surprise me if we retained all of those players recently recruited and maybe a couple of those among the group thought to be available for transfer. A couple of injuries and everything suddenly looks a lot different so don’t be too keen to ship anyone out of loan just yet?
Fred, I don’t think AMN played CAM for the last few minutes, but we reverted from 4-2-3-1 to 4-3-3 for a short – and successful – experiment, as Odegaard was substituted, ESR is not yet fully fit, and Vieira was slightly injured.
LBG, Balogun will not play for the first team this season, so he is expected to find a loan move to the PL or a foreign top tier team. And we cannot get rid of Pepe, Nelson and Marquinhos all at once, so either we buy a new attacker (Gakpo?), or Sell Pepe, loan Marquinhos, and Nelson stays to play backup RW.
Going into a season with only two strikers seems a risk to me?

Fred, keeping Balogun with the club could be smart, but wouldn’t be fair with the boy. On the other hand signing Cody Gakpo, who can play on the wings and at CF would solve the problem for good – assuming we find a buyer for Pepe.
Your starting defender question is a good one. It seems All White, Saliba and Gabriel are promised to have guarantees to play, so at the moment the White-Saliba-Gabriel-Zinchencko back 4 lookes solid. The questions remain: what shall happen when last season’s starting full backs come back to match fitness. It is possible that Tomi will sit on the bench and White will become our first-choice RB. I wouldn’t like that, but it is indeed possible. The same applies with Zinch, he could usurp Tierney’s starting position, could sit on the bench, and could also compete with our central defenders.
