According to multiple media reports in England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain, Arsenal has contacted European clubs (not EPL) to inform them that Auba could be transferred if a mutually acceptable offer was formulated…
In the same time, AFC has offered 55 Mln + L. Torreira to Fiorentina for the services of D. Vlahovic…
Another rumor has indicated that Arsenal is close to reaching an agreement with A. Isak from R. Sociedad for a transfer this summer.
So Vlahovic in for Auba and A. Isak in for A. Lacazette or E. Nketiah?
Auba reportedly interested to join Italy (Juve) or Spain (Barcelona). Juve keen on Auba but also Icardi…
Other rumours: AFC still considering Calvert-Lewin, P. Schick in case Vlahovic deal does not come through and also looking at R. Sanches and B. Guimares in midfield
Oooh things are getting exciting.
So much forward smoke, I like it!
Ramsdale – Tomy, White, Gabs, Tierney – Partey, Xhaka – Saka, Ode (or ESR), Martinelli – VLAHOVIC
That would not be the worse team we had in the last 15 years…
Now with Auba, El Neny, Partey and Pepe out for the ACN, we may seem a bit light in the middle and up front…
I d say, just go to Leeds and attempt signing up K. Philipps as your DM/CM and then Raphinha as a winger/playmaker…See what Leeds say, throw in Kolasinac, El Neny and Balogun (loan) if you can…
I think both these Leeds players would make our team stronger and deeper
My personal opinion we should sort things out with aubameyang, especially if he goes AFCON and get his mojo back
None of the names above fill me with excitement, Vlahic don’t watch seria A so don’t know enough about him
Isack think I know enough about him and doesn’t fill me with confidence
I know striker are a hard commodity to get right now so that decision shouldn’t be rushed as it stands the team is doing pretty will with the likes of lacazette etc
Wait till summer and hopefully we have European football we more players would be willing to come
Can’t see both vlahovic AND Isaac. One or the other I’d imagine.Midfield.hopefully Guimares or Bissouma & we’re cooking!
Guimares would be a waste…There r much better options than him both in the EPL and in the French League. As of Bissouma, he is good indeed but I think we can find a better player
is that Renato Sanchez? His passport says he’s 19, he looks 35. So good Swansea didn’t fancy him.
Reminds me of Gervinho with his syrup.
Hi RC,
Please remind me — what is your assessment of Isak??
Hi ya, Rocky, if you is about, can I wish you a very happy and successful New Year, and thank you for wishing all of us, including moi, a Happy New Year. 😆
Thanks RC, you can’t beat a good old transfer rumour post to get people out of their Bath chairs, it’s knockabout stuff indeed.
I guess that after the last transfer window and all the good work that was done in it, if Edu is actually in for Vlahovic then he must be good, ditto Isak, but I know as much about them as I did Tomiyasu before he arrived so I’ll defer to your knowledge.
Arsenal do actually have a pretty good record when it comes to signing players from Serie A. The Italians are quite thorough with their coaching with any player arriving from that league mentally strong and very professional in their work.
My preferences:
CF/LF/RF:
Both Alfredo Morelos, 25, 1.77m (Glasgow Rangers & Colombia national team) AND Charles De Ketelaere, 20, 1.92m (Club Brugge & Belgium national team)
(We could be losing all three of Auba, Laca & Eddie either in this winter window or next summer window, hence the two new “could be” signings in forward positions. Also Pépé’s future might also be in question).
Should the new key CF signing come from the PL (in this winter or next summer), I would prefer one of Ivan Toney (25, 1.85m) or Richarlison (24, 1.84m) AND add one of Morelos or De Ketelaere.
CM/DM:
Either Matheus Nunes, 23, 1.83m (Sporting Lisbon & Portugal national team) or Martín Zubimendi, 22, 1.81m (Real Sociedad & Spain national team).
Should the new CM/DM signing come from the PL (in this winter or next summer), I would prefer Youri Tielemans (24, 1.76m) to partner Thomas Partey/Granit Xhaka and in the future, a long term partner with Sambi Lokonga in our engine room (and that of the Belgium national team as well).
Well well! Alexander Isak is a lovely lad I’d say. He has still not reached his full potential, that’s for sure. He’s got flair and intelligence but is still humble and willing to work hard. And he is good at many things. He never was a leathal or natural goalgetter, but the feeling is that he’s got more talent than most. If someone can get the best out of him then maybe he could be one of the best in Europe in a few years.
Can he push Arsenal closer to the top? I am not sure if the Premier League would suit him. But I find it intriguing that, it there is truth in the rumours, Ødegaard probably has been asked about Isak since they played together in Sociedad…
This is my swedish view of Isak.
