Merry Christmas everyone
Wishing you all a fine day, full of bonhomie, booze, bounty and bon mots
Christmas greetings from a very white London, Ontario, 6″ of snow and -10c but we are staying in today to cook an Xmas feast for our family.
Cheers, GN5.
I wish I had 6 inches.
Don’t get too excited Chas – it may grow on you!!
Happy Xmas everyone.
I have used the “please no, I have a micro penis” many times to avoid a kicking or gain sympathy.
The only people it don’t work with is Traffic Wardens. Tell them that ticket is invalid because you have a micro Cock, your met with “So what? To find mine I need a telescope”
Hi Terry, always good to read your jokes, all the best to you and your concubine.
Merry Christmas to all gonners all over the world. Wishing us all a more fruitful and highly rewarding years ahead.

Morning All,
Where’s Eddie?
Love that car wax ad. Don’t think it would pass the political correctness lobby
At least we’re not playing in that hideous blue kit.

Nice one Chas. It had me mightily confused especially now that I’ve finished watching Stranger Things and am trying to get into West World. But I think I understand.
I keep thinking back to the Manure vs Shitty game. I still cant comprehend how Manure have spent almost a billion dollars in the transfer market and in that game, the majority of the starting 11 were all signed by Fergie. Europa Cup aside, they only have mediocrity to show for there huge investment and their many coaching changes. It will be interesting to see what and where they end up this season.
As for Arsenal, I wish we could fast forward through the Jan transfer window. It is going to be painful. Daily bombardment of transfers we will do or have missed out on with the outcome being failure and ridicule. Meanwhile I personally think we have done good business in the transfer windows especially with bringing in Lacazette and Kolasinac. And in the main, our transfers are playing, not like over at Manure…
Why can’t the fans vote upon the away kit? Almost everyone has access to Arsenal.com.
No way would any of the fans choose the dreadful away kit we have this season. It is embarrassing and nothing to do with The Arsenal.
VP
Have you watched
Ozark
Mindhunter
13 Reasons Why
Fargo
I enjoyed Stranger Things 2.
VP. Would you consider signing Luke Shaw? At 22 he seems to have the time to change his ways and become a beast of a LB – a position we are weak in.
Merry Christmas or what’s left of it!!
Wishing all AAers and their families the very best xx
Is Luke Shaw that much better than Kolasinac?
Am I missing something?
Merry Christmas to all on the site.
Is Kolasinac a LB or a LWB? Is Shaw the better player? Potentially Yes, right now, No.
Monreal has at best 2 seasons by which time M-N could become our LWB with Kolainac as our LCB/LB.
I was only asking 🙂
HNY Eddie
Morning all.
It’s a balmy -18c this morning with the wind chill added it feels like -30c…………………
In other words that’s really fricking cold.
Luke’s Shaw I’d say no . He has only had one EPL game this season and even then not a full 90mins. Mourinho passed on him back in 2014 and seems to not want to play him now.
I would take Kolasinac over Shaw in LB until we have another LB signed up. I’d even play Holding there before Shaw
34 degrees tomorrow, heading to the beach on Half Moon Bay and will probably have fish and chips for dinner from the kiosk on the beach.
GN5. That is a mite chilly.
Unseasonally warm here at 10 but been raining for 3 days.
Spurs easily beat S’ton who were pants. Expecting all the top 4 to win at a canter
VP. I am deeply envious. A beach fish and chips is tine fare
Cheers GN5. Happy Xmas to you and the family.
Totnumb win and Kane, who genetically should be milking cows, scores another hat trick? This is what society has come to? Disgraceful.
My 15 year old nephew has been acting strangely recently so the other day I broke into his bedroom and discovered a diary. It’s contents shocked me. In it he said that today he admitted to a Totnumb friend that they were better than us?
I was furious so immediately confronted him and made it clear that as Arsenal fans our duty is to admit nothing. It took me a while to calm down, but I finally took him to one side and apologised for getting angry but made it clear he should never do something so stupid again. I also quietly mentioned that he should also probably keep quiet on how he planned to break into his Geography teachers house and bludgeon him to death with an illustrated copy of the world atlas. And that inscribing the book “The well traveled Serial Killer” might intensify the Old Bills efforts to catch him.
Wouldn’t worry about the transfer martlet VP. Arsene is immune to what others write or say. This is a an admirable quality, I wish I had it. I recently discovered that Uber passengers get rated by the drivers? Till then I didn’t care but in a vain attempt to boost my score I have been marked down by a Hungarian part time body builder for stating that I didn’t realise been gay was allowed there, and by some Muslim guy for saying that out of all the great religions, the good thing about Islam is that unlike the others it allows you to pull more birds.
You just can’t win with some people. But thankfully, Arsene doesn’t care.
A belated Merry Christmas to everyone. Hope you all feasted, drank and were Merry 🙂
Do we really play chavs 4 times in January??!!
No Eddie but we do play them 3 times.
Jan 3 PL Home
Jan 10 Carabao Cup Home
Jan 24 Carabao Cup Away
Arsenal .com incorrectly show 4 games – 2 of which are on Jan 10th.
Aha, thank you gn5.
3 times is still too much of them
Belated happy Christmas to all and hope you all have a great new year.
Great comedy comments from Terry. Just read back through the last 3 posts.
Now that Chas’ superb and very successful Santa advent calendar is over, maybe we could simply put up pics of famous paedos every day
Morning all
Have a nasty feeling we’re playing to day. I go check
No, it’s tomorrow
Crikey, even our league games have been relegated to Spursdays 😦
Morning All,
Micky. I foolishly wrote the PM and published it yesterday (chas kindly removed it). Thank goodness I didn’t make the trek to the Emirates to find I had arrived two days early.
Terry. More genius. The idea of breaking into your nephews bedroom had me giggling and the rest of the comment made me guffaw (not a pretty sight)
Morning all, a Polar vortex has settled in over Ontario and will stay around for over a week it’s -18c now the warmest it will get this week is -12c. We are used to this kind of weather and dress accordingly when we go outside – but I stay inside in the warm.
Terry you are crazy – funny! Keep on being you it keeps us all entertained – and sore from laughing.
Arsene Wenger says Jack Wilshere Arsenal deal depends on financial terms
Last Updated: 27/12/17 11:23am
Arsene Wenger expects money to be defining factor in contract talks with Jack Wilshere
Arsene Wenger says financial considerations are key to the discussions over Jack Wilshere’s new Arsenal contract.
The midfielder is out of contract in the summer but has impressed Wenger this season after gradually returning to the first team after a season-long loan at Bournemouth.
Wilshere told Sky Sports News last week he wanted to sign a new contract and after the 3-3 draw against Liverpool last Friday, he spoke of his determination to target a long run in the Gunners’ starting line-up.
Wilshere has impressed Wenger on his return to the first-team fold
When asked about any updates on the midfielder’s future, Wenger said: “We will sit down with him.”
However, when pressed whether he believed Wilshere wanted to stay, he added: “I believe if he can meet a point of agreement financially, he will want to stay.”
Wilshere targets regular first-team football after impressive showing in 3-3 draw with Liverpool
Wenger admitted that he expects to be busy during the January transfer window and said Nacho Monreal will join Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey on the sidelines for the Premier League meeting against Crystal Palace on Thursday.
The Spanish defender picked up an injury in the Liverpool draw while Wenger is hopeful the striker, who he describes as a “quick healer”, will return in January.
“I will be busy yes because first of all you have clubs who call you to get players on loan or to buy your players, Wenger said.
“I am open-minded on any possibility to strengthen our team.”
Wenger also revealed there had been no movement on the future of Alexis Sanchez, who was a summer transfer target for Premier League leaders Manchester City.
He said: “No, honestly, no. We have not been approached and I stick to what I said before.”
Difficult decision to be made about JW.
IMO he is not good enough to be made the cog/hub of the team, so why pay him the same as Ozil? Or even the same as Ramsey?
His time at Bournemouth showed that as much as we love the chap, he remains a good PL player – no more. If we are to regain our place at the Top Table we need someone with more abolilties.
If he wants €150k p.m. I expect AFC to say No and let him leave. JW is unlikely to play for a team as good as Arsenal.
There’s a whole lot of money getting spent by the clubs around us in the PL at the moment whilst we look at the prospect of losing our best players. The feeling that we are going to get left behind increases every time one of these clubs lands a top player with a crazy transfer fee. Liverpool needed a top defender and spent what was needed to get one. Are we willing to do the same?
FGG, I expect Kronke to look at the new transfer levels as a business decision and not as a passionate supporter, therefore the amount of money that AW will be allowed to spend will be a straight forward decision based on the return on the money invested.
It’s sad but that is what has made him into a billionaire and I don’t think he will change – but I’d love to be pleasantly surprised.
Oh boy!!, earlier I said it was so cold here that I’d stay at home in the warm. Well I needed to go out on a little trip – and of all the bad luck – I got a puncture on an open road – it took me and hour to take off the damaged tire and replace it with the spare, it was -30c with the wind chill and the snow was blowing off of a field right into me. Fortunately I was clothed for the weather but it was still an ordeal.
When I eventually got home I had the most welcome glass of single malt that I can remember.
GN5, i imagine performance has quite a lot to do with getting return on his investment, and if we want to be finishing higher up the table and getting further in the Cups then we are going to need to invest some money. The PL clubs are now mega rich and will leave us for dust if we don’t spend.
No argument from me there FGG we do need to spend big to be competitive – but I don’t think that anything will change the ingrained business philosophy.
There is a very good chance that Liverpool will need to sell Coutinho in order to finance some of the spending they are doing (£75m on VVD and £48m on Keita) but if they keep him and the squad together then that’s another side that will look in better shape than us.
pool just got their D a bit sorted! grrr
