Blackburn Preview

Ewood Park. Hardly inspires a sense of excitement , does it? Sam Allardyce? Seems a marriage made in Northern hell. Work ethic, win ugly, they don’t like it up ’em, let them know you are there, passing football is for soft southern poofs, hit hard and hit often, we will score from set pieces…… the epitome of anti-football.

But is that a fair summation? Am I being Southcentric? Only you can decide. I have been to Ewood Park, to the shabby Northern streets of Blackburn, and it was exactly as expected – though the pies are excellent!

The stats: One point and we are guaranteed third place. Blackburn have lost only 2 of 17 home games, they have won just 2 out of 18 against top half opposition. Arsenal have scored 16 goals in the last 4 meetings between the clubs. Van Persie has scored 9 in 8 games against B’burn. The usual suspects are missing for Arsenal, though there is a small chance that Arshavin could play. Allardyce has a full squad to choose from. We will have the opportunity to check out Phil Jones (CB) and N’Zonzi (MF) both talked of as potential AW’s targets (though AW has been his usual non-commital self).

Writing this I feel a sense of apathy, and really fear the team will feel the same. The Fulham home game will secure the 3 position and a trip to Ewood is hardly an enjoyable experience. I am concerned the team will just go through the motions and look to escape without injury prior to the World Cup selections. However, as these are men who are paid a huge amount of money to play for The Arsenal, will they give their all for the cause against a fired up Blackburn team? – because there is no doubt Allardyce will want his team to give 100% and mirror his gum-chewing, snarling self. When the first thumping tackle goes in will our lads fight fire with fire or will they roll over and avoid the confrontation? We have some players that undoubtedly will give as good as they get (Sol & RvP to name but two), but we also have players who go missing in the heat of battle and in a meaningless game like this, I would not play them. So, I would continue the Eastwood experiment and play Bendtner instead of Theo. Maybe let Eduardo show us the improvement AW has seen in training.

There is not much more to say about Rovers. We know their style of play, exemplified by El Hadji Diouf – a serial bad boy and a man even his own fans are ashamed of.

Blackburn was the centre of the textile business during the Industrial Revolution with 43 mills and 43,000 looms! Real Lowry country. The spinning Jenny was invented in Blackburn. What else…..? Carl Fogarty was born there. It has the highest percentage of Muslims in the UK. And of course, as most of the world knows, there are 4,000 holes in Blackburn Lancashire but what that means I have no idea!

Expect a physical battle. Be happy to escape injury free with the point to secure 3rd. My personal target is to stay awake until the final whistle, but I will be recording the game just in case……..

LOL Raddy, Well done my friend Great fun. As it “appens” their pies are very good, meat and potato last time I went. Its also not far from Pendle Hill so don’t upset the locals they may just get their broomsticks out. Bloody hell, god help the spuds if Peaches ever got her hands on one of those.
If the footy sends you to sleep Raddy there is always the Twenty/Twenty afterwards.

Big Sam will be enough to motivate our team, Sol will kick a couple and Robin will score.

Rasp you seem like so many people this week undecided. LOL

We will have a great year next year, JW was sent to Bolton to toughen him up and it appears to have done that, Carlos will get his chance in the world cup to show what he can do.
Le Gaffer will buy and we will progress

Today is the start of the good times

  2. Rasputin says:

Great post Raddy – I like the blend of history, nostalgia and geography πŸ˜†

dandan – if only AW could say such comforting words and mean them ….. I’m a bit fed up with “trust me”

  3. kelsey says:

4000 holes in blackburn lancashire πŸ˜‰

Sorry dandan i disagree. When Carlos Vela is mentioned, it is a very good example of why it is difficult to read Wenger’s mind. He hasn’t started one league game all season, and even allowing for injuries and international duty, the total sum of goals scored this season is one, and that was in the Carling Cup.Many rave about him, based on a couple of delightful goals last season in the C.C. Did he learn much playing for a very average team in Osasuna.Has he progressed. If he doesn’t get a regular run in the side, how can he be judged, and with so many injuries he still isn’t given a chance.Weighing everything up, I feel he is another who has no future at the club.I read from many that actually attend games that he is majestic and adds a different dimension to the team, yet I don’t see it.Can anyone tell me otherwise.I mention this as Vela falls into the category of many in the team as “squad players”.but is he really that.

  4. Rasputin says:

    Morning kelsey,

There is a direct comparison between Theo and Vela in terms of age and international status. I consider Vela to be a more gifted footballer at this stage and so, like you, cannot understand why we haven’t given him a run of games to prove himself.

AA has been suffering from the physical demands of the prem and his injuries have been caused by ‘overplaying’ – surely Vela could have been used to give AA a rest in that left mid position.

  5. dandan says:

AS I said Kelsey the world cup will answer that question for us.

  6. Alfa says:

Morning all. I think AW will want to put one over on Fat Sam as they haven’t always got on too well. I think he’ll remind the players that there will be changes this summer and if they want to be around they had better show they deserve it especially after Wigan.

Be good to see Vela and see if he runs his heart out in the first 30 minutes. If he doesn’t then get him off and time to look for some other options.

  7. I think many will see a different Vela at the World Cup.

He is in the provisional squad, and more or less nailed for the final cut.

Every time I have witnessed him playing for Mexico, from the start or as a sub, he has made a massive impact for his team.

He is supremely gifted, but there must be issues off the field that are stopping him getting games for us.

These “Party Boy” rumours would be consistent with AW’s treatment of similar types of young guns in the past.

Would be a great shame if he was shipped on after a good WC.

Which is the feeling i am getting more and more.

  8. tommystout says:

thanks for the preview big raddy it was a good read… its a little difficult trying to get up for the game today so every little helps.
I cant wait for next season, im expecting big things from the transfer window but i also expect dissapointment, so who knows.
We have a lot of loanees coming back after longish spells away from the club, Lansbury and JET have had especially good spells away. Does anyone think that they will figure next season? I know that they wont be the answer, but could be useful squad players.
I ticked the box yesterday that we would have won the league if we had a world class keeper. I think we would have won the league if we had Joe Average in goal never mind world class, i can’t think of another premiership 1st team keeper that i wouldn’t rather have than Almunia.
    Anyway a bit of a rant there i spose….
    My Arsenal 2010-2011

    shadowed by –

and we play 4.4.2 and we dont overplay and we get more than 1 player in the box and we shoot on site and we play on the shoulder and we play in armour (rules permitting!)

  9. tt – can you honestly see man city selling joe hart to us?

  10. tommystout says:

  11. then you may aswell of put messi in that first team of yours πŸ˜†

  12. metzelder has signed a 3yr deal to go back to schalke

  13. tommystout says:

im off back to bed 😦

  14. dont worry, there are plenty more fish in that transfer sea for AW πŸ˜‰

  15. “Last summer we bought Thomas Vermaelen, nobody knew about him and now he is in the team of the year, so they just have to keep faith in what we do”

  16. kelsey says:

    Good Afternoon.

    Don’t believe everything you read.

    Real Madrid
    Β£18.3m a year, four-year deal

I know for a fact that is incorrect.Their current deal is 45 million euros which was renewed last May for 3 years and the deal before with BWIN was 50 million .
Having said that I agree we sold our shirt and stadium rights far too cheaply.

By the way do you know any poor bookies πŸ˜‰

  17. kelsey says:

VIP tickets for the CL Final start at 700 euros. nice work if you can get it.

  18. Rocky Lives says:

I feel sorry for Vela. In most of his bit-part outings for us he’s looked lightweight and ineffectual, yet if you watch him for Mexico he’s outstanding.
He is being written off by a large section of our fan base without ever having a proper run in the team. It’s so easy to make harsh judgements on players who come on for 15 minutes here and there, but even established players take a while to get into their stride: look at Clichy – he was shocking when he came back from injury (one of his shockers, unfortunately, being the ManUre game) but after about four games he started looking back to his old self.
Let’s reserve judgement on Carlos, hope he has a great WC and forces himself into AW’s plans.

  19. dandan says:

That’s a bit harsh string, he was under pressure to raise money for the new ground etc and those kind of deals would have been agreed, approved and signed off by the board after they had studied and discussed a hard copy following a professional presentation of the deal. They are all experienced business people and would have been aware of the risk of locking themselves in, but I suspect cash flow was paramount. Don’t forget as the pound has devalued yesterdays money was worth more than today’s and they were paid up front, plus the quicker the debt was paid the less interest accrued. Again without wishing to dispute the figures quoted, I repeat statistics can be made to support many different arguments. Just look at the different spin each party is putting on the opinion polls for this election. You pays your money and takes your choice as to who was responsible.
As for Keith Edelman leaving after serving us well, it is far more likely that it was a case of Ivan wanting his own men backing him than any real transgression on Keith’s part.
Top level business management is every bit as precarious as football management. You are only as good by and large as your last quarters results.

  20. Rocky Lives says:

By the way, good preview BR.
It’s nice to know there is something to redeem Rovers, even if it’s only the pies.
Let’s hope there are 4,000 holes in Blackburn’s defence.

  21. was ivan at the club when edelman left?

  22. kels – i know plenty who got smashed HARD by that reversal.

  23. just checked, gazidis was edeleman’s replacement.

    KE left in may 08

    IG joined in jan 09

  24. there was a real rumpus at the way KE was suddenly forced off the board, it was not that long after he was spouting stuff about a 70M ish transfer budget.

  25. dandan says:

Yes and no doubt Kroenke was the instigator and just like Wenger, Ivan would have wanted to bring his own men with him to fill key positions. Ivan would have had a notice period to serve even if it was as garden leave, which is why Ken Friar took over the reins for a while.

  26. celtic chief turned down the job in the summer of 08 before IG was on the scene… then an american head hunting firm were called in…

they finally got ivan later in 08.

  27. Big Raddy says:

Shows how interested we are in this evening game. No-one has mentioned it!!

Luckily I spotted the early kick-off.

  28. will become interested when i see the line up, BR

  29. Big Raddy says:

And I just found a stream for the Women’s FACF. 2-1 down at half time.

Come on you rip roaring Gunner Girls

  30. Vela plays!!!!!!!!!!!

  31. Fabianski, Diaby, Sagna, Nasri,Van Persie, Vela, Walcott, Silvestre,Eboue, Traore, Cam. Subs: Ed, Djou,Arsh, Man, Gibbs, Eastm Hendsn

  32. vela, theo, rvp up front

    that is fierce

  33. nice to see young djorou and gibbs on the bench

  34. Big Raddy says:

    Weird team that….

    Big day for Traore

  35. end of season team, i love the look of it, proper raw pace all over the shop.

blackburn are in for a long 90 mins.

  36. Big Raddy says:

Me too SfH. Let’s hope the pitch is good,

  37. ooh everton miss a sitter

  38. dandan says:

Just had a zzzzzz been up since 5.30

Right String, just read your stuff thank you. BUT!!!! would still put my little piggy bank on Kroenke with his knowledge of American sport and our need to grow in the states being the man behind it. Boards are often more slippery and political than Tony Blairs wife, ask Lady Bracewell Smith.

  39. oh indeed it was stan’s choice of IG

but not too sure it was the reason KE got the heave ho

  40. Rocky Lives says:

No Clichy?? Is he injured, or does this give credence to the Arshavin stuff about Clichy also going to Barca?
Interesting team though. We’ll either terrorise them with pace or be terrorised by their thuggishness. No in-between ground.

  41. blimey that olsonn just outpaced theo

  42. brilliant from fabianski

back to his confident best, not just a keeper but a sweeper aswell

  43. arsenal circa 1990 goal from a corner

for bould flick on at near post read sagna..

  44. total shower of shite are this fat sam mob, they have one clear tactic today

get the ball, any way you can, then hooooof towards fabianski and charge at him.

  45. wtf was the ref and linesman doing there? 3 men assaulted our keeper

  46. dandan says:

Well gentlemen you got your answer with Carlos Vela he went on holiday again

  47. kelsey says:

the equaliser was always on.look at the defence and midfield we have got out. I could have scored vela’s miss.Where is nasri, diaby.yes blackburn are a bunch of thugs but they are playing on our weakness.very poor show.We need another goal because i am sure they will score again.

Campbell and RVP are excellent and Fab was doing great until the goal. traore is totally uncomfortable.

  48. dandan says:

How much will AA get kicked if he comes on for Vela

  49. Big Raddy says:

This referee is absolutely awful. Two clear shirt pulls from Rovers = 2 yellow cards,

Fabianski was obstructed not by one but Two Rover’s players.

And finally RvP is elbowed in the head not even a free kick.

After a bright start we look poor. Nasri is having a decent game. Vela is dropping too deep. We should win this.

Oh, and what a fantastic goal we scored, straight out of the George Graham tactic book. Took me back 15 years!

  50. Big Raddy says:

    LOL. We disagree again Kelsey.

I think Nasri is MoM so far!

As you say Traore looks uncomfortable, his mistake early in the game affected his confidence.

  51. dandan says:

We need a GK many clubs will play this way if we dont get one.

  52. kels – they never ever looked like scoring, we were in complete control of that game.

their goal was as clear a foul on a keeper by roberts as you could see

  53. dandan – fab2 has been just fine, but no keeper is beyond being held back back an elbow when going to catch a cross

he is looking veryu comfortable to me, i see the fab2 of pre-fa cup, the key to this is his sweeping, he stopped that after the drogba goal on wembley marshes, but its a key ingredient to his game, his timing for coming out is usually very good, he is very pacey for a keeper.

for me he has looked assured today, aside from the blatant manhandling he is being subjected to.

  54. dandan says:

You were saying String? he is no way a premier league GK he is a lightweight and a flapper, sorry but he must be replaced

  55. kelsey says:

    I told you.

I will give you tomorrows headline

    The butchers of blackburn.

Sorry i can’t watch anymore of this. Goodnight.

  56. dandan – watch the replay again, forget you dont like him

and tell me what he done wrong?

sol campbell actually backed into him and knocked him off balance.

  57. kelsey says:

Love to see geoff’s post tomorrow πŸ˜‰

  58. we are the worst persecutors of our own at times.

    fab2 has had zero protection

every save he has had to make, he has.

both their goals have been a consequence of no protection for our keeper

  59. dandan says:

String he has to get there mate, half the problem is the defenders don’t trust him, I know it is rough and tumble but he has to make his presence felt and he doesn’t.

  60. but dandan, how can he get there when he is being pegged in by 3 15 stone, 6ft 3 monsters?

  61. kelsey says:

The irony is that robinson looks shaky but we aren’t testing him. A loss here and the wrong result at city and spurs could be third and we would be forth.

Vela has played his last game for us.

Sorry SFH, dandan is right. All keepers get pressure like that in a game, once is unlucky but twice, never.

I am more concerned how untogether the team is.

  62. kelsey says:

    No handshake from Wenger.

Woeful display, no excuses. We knew blackburn’s tactics before the game started. Why aren’t the players motivated. Why take short free kicks when we are chasing the game and time is running out.

one win in eight is pretty awful regardless of the team we put out.

  63. kels – so its ok to manhandle a keeper whilst a corner is being taken?

both goals he was held back, his leap was prevented…

to easy to blame him right now, goon blog world will no doubt go into overdrive hating another one of our players.

watch the replays again, disastrous refereeing allowing that treatment

  64. kels – he did shake his hand, then rushed off down the corridor

come on lets not let this go into arsenal hate.

  65. kelsey says:

it happens all the time.We just don’t learn how to manmark properly.i am sorry i can’t defend that performance.Too many players went missing.

  66. i agree about the players, not about the keeping.

nasri and theo were totally ineffective for me.

  67. dandan says:

We have a week to get some players fit for the point we must get against Fulham. Vela and Eduardo will be on their bikes, in the close season.
We knew what we were going to get and the GK was not up to it,
Sod it going to watch the cricket

  68. diaby has so gone backwards in the last 6 weeks, he should never be played at DM unless totally necessary.

for such a big fella, he is very weak.

  69. kelsey says:

I don’t hate arsenal, i am forming an opinion on the game today.if he did shake hands, i didn’t see it.
We were not up for a fight to secure that third one had an outstanding game, and that’s a fact.

  70. Rasputin says:

    Hi guys,

That was appalling. Bad tactics, poor performances – all our weaknesses on display in that one game.

There are no excuses, Blackburn had quite a few injury problems themselves. Fabianski is not strong or aggressive enough. We should stop buying 10 stone, 5ft 9in players – we’ve got plenty of those.

As it stands we have no-one writing a match report for tomorrow (or any type of evaluation) ….. any volunteers? πŸ˜•

  71. I think you should give the match report a go, rasp

Expand on some of the points you made @741

    would spark some good debate

  72. Rasputin says:

I’ve been working all over the weekend SH and I’m absolutely ceam crackered – plus I have lost the heart for the timebeing.

  73. Big Raddy says:

    Dreadful second half.

Their second was a direct result of the poor reffing for the first. Had the idiot in black made it clear that obstructing Fab would be penalised …… but TBH Fab should have done better.

His shot stopping was excellent, but the GK problem remains.

Nasri was as shite in the 2nd half as he was good in the 1st.

As to the others, they should be ashamed of that performance. We will not score without shooting, and 500 passes in Rovers half adds up to nothing.

I expected little and that is what I got

  74. kelsey says:

Ah now we nearly agree BR πŸ˜‰

  75. GhostFace says:

    Big Raddy Says:

    Dreadful second half.

As to the others, they should be ashamed of that performance. We will not score without shooting, and 500 passes in Rovers half adds up to nothing.

Its like someone said….if you want to see shooting you should go watch basketball.

So we concede from set pieces again.

I wonder how much money we need to spend that will make us better at set pieces.

I wonder how much money we need to spend to make someone take a fucking shot on goal.

    Time for change in management.

  76. Rasputin says:

The 4:2:4 formation for the last 20 minutes was ridiculous. The ball was just passed around between the back 4 and 2 midfielders – zero penetration. There was a total lack of ideas and ambition. Diaby has gone backwards to his old ponderous slow thinking self over the last 6 weeks.

  77. rasp eaxclty what i said about diaby at 703

  78. Rasputin says:

Sorry SH, I should have read back 😦

  79. he was so domineering and confident before the barca home leg, really thought he has finally cracked it.

  80. Rasputin says:

I agree, I had hoped his emergence was going to be similar to Song’s, but I’m now worried that those 2 or 3 good performances were a flash in the pan.

  81. “Their (Blackburn’s) main purpose every time is to stop the goalkeeper, not go for the ball, and both times for both goals that happened.”

Asked if Fabianski was at fault in any way, Wenger defended the goalkeeper.

“No,” he said. “I think he had no chance as a goalkeeper, he was pushed every time.”

  82. Big Raddy says:

I agree with AW. Pisspoor officiating but it doesn’t explain our lack of creativity

  83. Rasputin says:

A big strong agressive keeper would have been the one doing the pushing ……

  84. Chippy says:

Wenger needs to stop defending the in defencable and start cutting the dead wood from this squad we’ve got a stack of players that haven’t the heart or so called mental strentgh to make it to the top of the proffesion and him making stupid excuses for them helps no one, yet again we’ve played totally inefective sideways footbal. With no end product but worse than that we’ve been beat by a team who wanted the 3 points more and that is unacceptable, the poor fuckers that have paid good money to watch that side stroll around not giving a fuck should be refunded a complete disgrace, and if wenger seriously beleives we only need 2 players he needs his head read!!!!!

  85. Big Raddy says:

I am numb after a performance like that.

I don’t agree with Chippy that the players don’t care. They worked really hard, problem is that they are not good enough.

Robinson had an easy time, which cannot be said for Fab2. Very disappointing

  86. Would it surprise any of you that from the team that spanked Everton 6-1 on the opening day of the season…

only one starter from that day played today.

  87. Another heart breaking performance – maybe my Arsenal heart has been breaking since spuds but I was embarrassed that this was a team that AW put out to win a game – bloody good job the premiership didn’t depend on it.

Except Sol Campbell and Robin – the only real gooners on the pitch

  88. Big Raddy says:

    Very telling SfH.

    Was it RvP?

  89. Chippy says:

Big Raddy, I really wish it wasn’t the case but that’s what it has come to I’m sorry but you can put in one or 2 performances that are lacking heart and spirit but that is 3 out of the last 4 games where some players in the red shirt look as tho they could not give a monkeys, They were actually laughing and joking and giving each other high fives when the ex Manc nearly scored an own goal it was shocking. We had 10 internationals on the pitch!!! You can be technically the best in the world but if you don’t put any effort in your go nowhere They know Wenger will make excuses for them like he always does something is badly wrong at the club at the mo,

  90. Big Raddy says:

Just splitting hairs Chippy. There is clearly something wrong but it is not AW’s way to slag off his players to the media & I respect him for that.

  91. the world cup cannot come quick enough!!!!!!!!!!!!

  92. Chippy says:

    Sfh, Agree with you there!

Big Raddy, Yes and so did I up to this season but I think some of these players are letting him down badly and he needs to make an example of them so that others sit up and take notice, A bit of shock and Awe if you like πŸ™‚

Cannot beleive we’ve now actually lost 7 away games, wonder when the last time was that we lost that many.
Wengers early years we hardly ever got beat away!

  93. Big Raddy says:

    Right SfH.

Hope Danmark play with more gumption than AFC did tonight.

  94. Big Raddy says:

Oh stop it Chippy πŸ™‚ Things MUST change next season.

  95. Big Raddy says:

Don’t believe it, but if true, we could do a lot worse. Β£100k a week! Cobblers

  96. Chippy says:

    Big R,
I hope so this losing is no fun for anyone πŸ˜‰

  97. Big Raddy says:

Now England have been shafted in the 20/20.

    What a lousy evening

  98. Chippy says:

That Dl method is a farce in 20/20 Just dosent work,

For once mind England look like they may have a chance some of the hitting was sensational

  99. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Just entering injury time & the cameras beam onto The Arsenal bench. There was Wenger, Pat Rice, Vic Akkers & Lewin. 😳 sorry I was talking about a game in 1989 πŸ˜†

Now where is that deluded interlectual Stringfellow Dork, Geoff’s mate, to tell me I’m wrong, it would have been Lewin’s father in 1989 πŸ˜†

The Arsenal Board can’t even change the coaching bench in 21 years, why would I believe they will spend on players.

I know, I know, I said I was off, but I couldn’t help myself. I really can’t be bothered with all this Wenger loving. The man is shot, I barren of re-invention.

  100. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    *and barren.

  101. gnarleygeorge9 says:

The Arsenal bench, in footbal terms, is a bit like that show Last of the Summer Wine.

  102. i knew all the hatred would come out in the end… the come along, full of praise.. then the truth slowly but surely comes to the fore.

  103. i love how certain goons only post when we lose, yet keep quiet when we win.

  104. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Here he is the spokesman for Lord Wenger. Where to from here sir. Tell us what tricks the “old’ fella has up his sleeve sir.

……and just for the record, I predicted, pre season, Wenger would parade the trophy down to Islington Town Hall. I got that wrong. There are some goons who are actually big enough to admit they are wrong. Then there are those who venomously slag off other blogs that are prepared to tell it as it is, probably coz they are jealous of how popular they are, & that no one bothers to read their own little bit of dribble.

The football world has caught up with Lord Wenger it seems. He lacks imagination now. He has served his purpose well, but maybe, just maybe, its time for him to get out while he still has a bit of dignity. History will be kind to him.

What a sad forlorn looking lot they were just sitting there, with Lord Wenger cursing that Blackburn didn’t play by his rules in winning, again.

  105. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Good news though, The Australian Labor government has taken an absolute belting in the polls πŸ˜†

  106. tell it as it is?

you mean racism is how it is?

sorry, i was brought up, not dragged up i’m afraid, that kind talk is for the gutter and for people from the gutter.

tbf does it surprise me that a simple mind like yours finds favour with such bile?

on a final note.. you will do well to absorb the underlying of…

The only person that can make you unhappy is you! You are the one that decides to be affected by the words and actions of others. Realize this so that the next time you experience a negative emotion, you can find the strength within yourself to overcome it.

  108. Brilliant stuff from Neil.

    Give what up?

I think your cry for help the other when you ran off and “signed out” was more you giving up

Your joy in arsenal losing today as brought you back out to play.

    Proper gooner πŸ˜†

Look, can I tell you, I know what total love is, I see her every morning when I wake up, but obsessive love blinds. You can’t think straight, & thats where you are with Lord Wenger. You are the one with the issues cobber.

  110. What time you running away today?

    time to sign out yet….again

why do you hate arsenal so much?

  111. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Robinson v Dott. Which one reminded you of Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal 2009/10.

  112. gnarleygeorge9 says:

It should be what time “are” you running away!!!

I’m going to just leave, & guess where I’m going to, Le Grove to tell Geoff & Pedro about my experience with an over obsessed AKB. They will have a good laugh πŸ˜†

  114. Only one of us who looks to cry for help.

Very embarrassing from you the other day, only one type of person does the old “feel sorry me, i got torn a new one, now i am signing out for the last time”

Please don’t get personal with one another on here. One will always get more of a reaction, annoyance and frustration and sometimes words said in the heat of the moment, especially when we lose.

There are no positives to be taken from the game today, its not about being an AKB or not.

It’s been on the cards for a couple of months now, and with the loss of Fabregas,Vermaelen and Gallas more or less at the same time, our form and passion from some of the players has dipped alarmingly.(Wenger more or less said so last night, without naming names.)

Of course Wenger is an intelligent man, his pride is hurt but never call him a c*** or whatever as some other sites do.

We should still finish third, but it is imaterial if we are third or forth as this side just isn’t committed enough to win anything as there are just too many average and inconsistant players in the squad.

Now Wenger must know this, money is available and i really believe he has one more season to get it right and put us back to being a title chasing team .if he really beieves that we don’t need strengthening in key areas, keeper being number one priority, i am absolutely amazed, or it might be a cunning plan to buy a keeper at a decent price rather than a plea to other clubs that we are in urgent need of a new keeper.
The attendence for Fulham will be interesting and any true arsenal fan will be highly disappointed as to how the season is finishing.

Kelsey, morning. I didn’t see the match, just the goals. I cringed a bit seeing our goalkeeper muscled out of the way like that. Its not the kind of football I want to watch but in the EPL at least one of them wasn’t a foul in my view and we just have to get over it. The defence seemed badly organised as has happened too often this season.

What I couldn’t work out is why they were able to bombard the 6 yard box with high balls etc. Did we just give up attacking? Good to see RvP scoring, and a headed goal as well.

  117. Morning all

    Theres a NEW POST
