And just like that, the title is over…

David Moyes and Unai Emery have dented our hopes and dreams…Guardiola and his troops will win an unprecedented 4th consecutive title…well done to them, and let us learn from this season again…

We are not far away from winning the league but City is just a formidable machine…We need a fully fit Timber next year, a better DM (shielding/holding), a solid back-up to Saka and also a better FW/CF. I am also in favour of challenging Gabriel and having a back-up to Saliba too. We will also need to replace Ramsdale.

Raya – White, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber – ?, Rice – Saka, Ode, Trossard – Havertz

Recruit – Tomyasu, Recruit?, Kiwior, Zinchenko – Jorgi, Partey – Recruit, ESR, Martinelli – Recruit

Some names are emerging like

  • GK: Sels, Snescesny, Bulka, Guaita
  • CB: Branthwaithe, Van den Bergh, Buongiorcano
  • DM: Douglas Luiz/Fofana
  • FWR: Olise, N. Williams
  • CF: Zirkzee, I. Williams

Raya – White, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber – FOFANA, Rice – Saka, Ode, Trossard – Havertz

PiG – Tomy, Branthwaithe, Kiwior, Zinchenko – Jorgi, Partey – N.Williams, ESR, Martinelli – ZIRKZEE

And even then, we are still not as strong as Man City

So if the title is over we might as well play the kids vs United and Everton. No? Why bother when we can just give up now and go home. As long as there is a mathematical chance we cannot waste hope…why invest emotionally in a sport if you live in the future where all is known. We are all traveling this journey and enjoy it.

At least we took it to the last day but hope is slim to be honest…I can’t see Spurs beat City, not the way they are playing at the moment. West Ham will also be destroyed by City next week so I am happy we re taking it to the final day but remaining rather pessimistic…but this if football, anything can happen…we can lose to Everton or they can lose to West Ham, who knows…

Meanwhile, Real Madrid is having another stellar season…

Courtois – RECRUIT, Militao, Rudiger, RECRUIT – Valverde, Tchouameni, Bellingham – Rodrygo, MBAPPE, Vinicius

Lunin – Carvalaj, RECRUIT, Alaba, Mendy – Kross, Camavinga, Modric – L.Vazquez, Joselu, Diaz (or Guler)

Apparently, Madrid will try to land

    • Davies from Bayern Munich at Left Back; and
    • Hakimi from PSG or Frimpong from Leverkusen at RB

If they get Davies, Hakimi and Mbappe, they are sorted for a while…

It just shows you how difficult it is to beat this City team to the title. We lost 2 games in December that ultimately sealed our fate. People will point to the Villa games but they’ve shown that there is no disgrace in losing to them this season, and our performances against them were decent. It’s the West Ham home and Fulham away games back to back that has cost us the league. We’ve been magnificent since the new year, but with this City team you can’t let up for a moment. The players will have to lick their wounds and go again.

I think it is just the West Ham game really in the end…

If we win that game, then we are in the ones going into the final game with the fate in our hands…

That said, we really progressed this season as a team. My awards are coming into the next post…
