Next day hangover is looming…Be Careful!

So we just beat Liverpool in a game that showcased our brilliant team defending (except for that silly own-goal). We kept Liverpool at bay and we managed to score on our chances, although we should have been up by at least 2 goals at half-time…

Our set-up was very solid with Havertz and Odegaard playign a crucial role in defensive phases and Martinelli and Saka playing a crucial role on offensive transitions. Ben White also had at an excellent game but the MOTM was clearly Jorginho who was able to dictate pace alongside signing-of-the-season D. Rice…

3-1 at home against Liverpool and now we are back in the title race while also giving an edge to Man City in the title race…

Now the most important thing is not to celebrate being back in the title race but to CAPITALIZE on this wonderful win by winning the next games and being consistent…We can only keep fighting for the title if we win games…and now losing or dropping points until the 31st of March is not an option at all…We gotta win against all teams until then…We could then face Man City with a chance to tilt the race in our favour…

West Ham (A), Burnley (H), Newcastle (H), Sheffield (A), Brentford (H), Chelsea (H) = 18 points…

Tomy is going to be back soon and hoping that we will be able to count on G. Jesus and Partey as well.

Keep calm, keep winning and carry on…If we have 67 points by March 30th, we will still in the race…Anything lower and we may be out of it by April 1st, no joke 😦

COYG!

Gabs – 6

“Keep calm, keep winning and carry on” Like that, thanks for the read RC.

Jorginho got the plaudits probably because most people were surprised that he could still do it but Rice put in his best performance to date in an Arsenal shirt: outstanding.

    great write as usual RC

LB / Fred – how are you? Where is everyone?

Havertz also puts in a very good shift lately…We are actually more solid with him in the team it seems but he really needs to add some goals and assists to his game for us now…Hard worker but now we want more attacking stats 🙂

I think with Tomy and Partey coming back soon, we will add some quality to our squad and hopefully, we can get Timber back because I do not rate Kiwior very highly…He is error prone, can be bullied and is not very fast…he is got a good pass on him but other than that…

Zinchenko also seems less reliable this season with lots of ups and worrying downs…As for Gabriel, he is a very good defender but he is not a great defender (ie: Van Dijk, Dias level) and I am hoping that we will go for a world-class central defender in the summer (Kim from Bayern would be great for example, Branthwaithe from Everton is on his way to become a great CB so maybe…).

Anyways, the point is that we need to keep a high level of performance until 31st of March to give ourselves a chance to still be in the title race by the time we meet City.

City has KDB and Haaland back and they won’t lose many points. Liverpool may lose a few points here and there (but not more than 4 by 31st of March)…so we don’t have any margins…

Raya (boo) – White, Saliba, Gabs, Zinchenko – Rice, Jorginho – Odegaard – Saka, Havertz, Martinelli OR

Raya – White, Sailba, Gabs, TOMY – Rice, Partey – Ode – Saka, G.Jesus, Martinelli

Do you think that Holding, Ramsey and Giroud could still be a value addition to our squad these days?

  6. fred1266's avatar fred1266 says:

    giroud and ramsey for sure

  7. fred1266's avatar fred1266 says:

U know how much goals Ramsey would score in that havertz role lol

  8. RC78's avatar RC78 says:

Haha…he might be scoring a bit more indeed…and also providing more assists but he wouldn’t have the same defensive work rate…

I think City and Liverpool will be hard to catch but let us hope we can do it, in a way, it seems that we deserve it and even other clubs would not mind seeing us lift the EPL trophy…20 years after the Invincibles 😛

    City wins and Liverpool wins…

Must win game for us today…

I think City will nick the EPL to be honest. Their squad is just very deep and some players are just performing out of their skins like Doku for example.

    If you have

    • Walker; Stones, Dias, Akanji at the back
    • Rodri, B. Silva, KDB in the middle
    • Alvarez, Haaland, Doku up front

and can still rely on players like

    • Lewis, Ake, Gvardiol
    • Kovacic, Foden
    • Grealish, Nunes

you have enough depth to lock and unlock games…

I suppose their LB area is the weakest but everything is relative…KDB and Haaland are back and that makes life much easier for them and complex for the rest of the teams…

0-6…what a game…West Ham was not there today and we took advantage of it…6 goals and could have been more…

The top 3 seems to be on a good run, we have to hope for slip-ups from LFC and Man City to become EPL leaders/champions but let us do the job until then

Trossard has started the second half of the season well

only worried I had today was havertz he gets into great shooting position and refused to pull the trigger

    Other than that great game

    What about Kiwior?

  13. RC78's avatar RC78 says:

    Kiwior is not reliable

The funny thing I noticed above is a new meaning to the “C” word………..CELEBRATING IS BANNED 🙂

Kiwior got better but I know what you mean, twenty minutes into the game and I was worried, 40 minutes in and I was laughing (but no celebrating)
