Heading towards the festive season…what is in store for us?

After qualifying for the next stage of the CL and still being in the mix for the title despite two undeserved losses to Newcastle and Villa (very similar losses by the way against teams that just set up to defend and scored on their rare opportunity…so annoying!), we are heading into the festive season full of cautious optimism. The next three months are crucial to our season – if we lose our ways in this period, by March, we will be out of all competitions and trophy hunts…

With the January transfer window opening, it seems that looking at a CF and eventually DM/CB/LB options may not be a bad idea…We need to score more as well as avoid silly goals. There is no way we should let Ramsdale leave us – he is key to our squad balance.

Ra(?) – White, Saliba, Gabs, Zinc – Partey, Rice – Saka, Ode, Gabi – Jesus

Ra (?) – Tomy, ?, Kiwior, Cedric (?) – Jorgi, Mo – Tro, ESR, Kai – Eddie (or Toney?)

Still unsure about our back-up CBs, LB…

Anyways, let us hope for a positive next 3 months. Allow me to wish you all already happy holidays and a wonderful 2024! I hope we will rejoice celebrating AFC trophies come May 2024 🙂

Cheers!

Fresh off the stove…Mbappe keen on a stint in the EPL…

Liverpool and Arsenal, his preferred destination and
Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea as secondary options

    – Mbappe, Nunez, Salah (Diaz, Gakpo, Jota)

    – Mbappe, G. Jesus, Saka (Martinelli, Nketiah, Trossard)

    – Mbappe, Haaland, Foden

    – Mbappe, Holjind, Rashford

    – Mbappe, Jackson, Nkunku

Anyways, would be nice to see him in the EPL before he joins Real

    Porto, not too bad 🙂

Rumour now linking us to Solanke…so odd

I want to say just one more thing on the Brighton game.

What is your one recurring thought, what one single action stays with you?

Mine is the pass from Eddie Nketiah to Havetz, watch closely at marvel at a thing of beauty.

What makes it so special for me; that’s to say, over and beyond the precision and the weight, was that it gave Havertz no choice but to go forward and shoot, which he does perfectly.

But here’s the thing, Havertz makes Ozil look greedy when it comes to passing rather than shooting, if Havertz could have passed to another player I am convinced he would have but the pass from Nketiah was such that he had to try and score, this is made all the better because Nketiah had a choice; he had his best mate to his right and Saka was well placed to receive but there was a wonderful little faint that made the pass of the game just that little bit more special.

Well done Eddie, you deserved more praise than you got for that one.

    Solanke………way out in left field.

LB – Eddie is a quality squad player indeed. He is definitely impriving year by year…He just needs to find that consistency in front of goal. I think he is overall game has improved and now we need him to score goals consistently in big games…this could also be said about G. Jesus, to be fair…

The one thing I d like to point out is that all of Havertz goals have come in the 85th minute and beyond, which means that he either does not do much before OR and most likely, he is very fit and can still cover a lot of ground towards the end of games. His aerial ability is also proving important. With a few improvements in his defensive work and his runs (with and without the ball) going forward, he will be a very complete midfielder to have in our team…

As for Rice, what a player…

Ha, I hadn’t realised that all of Havertz goals had come after the 85th minute, good spot.

The only thing missing from Rice is a cape with big letters DR on the back. The guy is super man.
