At long last a return to proper football and a game at The Home of Football against a team in yellow. Who could ask for more?
Can we maintain our table topping brilliance against the Canaries? Of course, Norwich are in the bottom three with just 7 points and logic suggests that we will win. Big Raddy always hesitates to predict an easy 3 points but ……
Last season we got beaten 1-0 at Carrow Road and people (BR included) made much of the strength of the Norwich team who deserved their victory. They faded away but for a few weeks looked good, beating Man Utd, and drawing at Everton. They finished a creditable 11th and will be delighted should they repeat that feat.
I have been in Norfolk and visited Norwich this week, as such I know that it is 20 years ago this week since Norwich’s best ever result beating a superb Bayern Munich team 0-2 away and becoming the first foreign club to beat BM in the Munich Olympic stadium! Heady days indeed. FYI, we are the only foreign team to have beaten Munich at The Allianz (the Chavs drew).
Onto this afternoon….
Norwich: Their best player is the Cameroonian defender, Sebastien Bassong. He will be up against young Oliver Giroud and we must hope Bassong plays like he did for the Spuds. Ruddy is a fine keeper and will expect to have a busy afternoon. Norwich have failed to score in 7 of their last 11 away games but have scored in all of their previous 7 games against Arsenal which means our defence is sure to be breached!
With only 5 goals scored so far this season it is clear where Norwich’s problems lie. That and having a mutant as a manager. Please let this chump take over from AVB when he deserts the sinking ship that rots away down the Seven Sisters Rd.
Hughton might be a good manager but he remains a Spud and as we all know, once a Cock always a Cock.
Arsenal: All the interest will be on team selection. Should Ozil and Cazorla both be fit who will Mr Wenger pick in midfield? My guess is that one of Arteta or Flamini will be dropped and Santi will play on the left, we should not need two defensive MF’s at home to Norwich. But will Wilshere play?
I would like to see Vermaelen start a game or two and give one of our CB’s a rest. Koscielny played midweek, so perhaps he can sit on the bench.
My Team:
I expect Norwich to play fairly defensively – their confidence must be low and they do not really have a player to inspire them, but we have seen how a team who are well organised and compact can cause us problems at home. If we score early and play sensibly we really ought to win.
p.s. BR is hoping to watch the game in Budapest. Anyone have any idea if there is a Hungarian Gooners Bar??

Arsenal News 24/7

HI all
We’ll put the pitch payout it the post in a while.
I hate games where we are expected to win…..especially post an international break. Hopefully the lads have had time to reacquaint and play together.
Not sure if Santi should start, how much as he trained with Özil? Although given both are exceptional footballers who slotted in to our style of play it’s not hard to imagine how it will work ….it’ll be damn pretty!
Here’s hoping all cocks involved get roasted …Hughton and the spuds.
Great pm Raddy.
Santi+Ozil is really mouth-watering but I’m a bit concerned about our lack of width. I think if we’re going to sign anybody this January it should be an established winger (particularly one who plays on the “wrong” side and scores plenty goals.
Thanks for the pre-match BR.
The excitement today is as you say all about the team selection, but what ever it is one of Wenger’s eyes will be on Tuesday night.
Volunteer to write the match report wanted.
I know that sometimes I write the match report but tonight is my partner’s birthday and as such as soon as I return from the game I have to get ready and go straight out.
Good morning to you all.
Well done BR, up to your usual high standard.
I think our team are at last getting to understand that no Premiership opposition can be taken lightly. OK, so Norwich are in the bottom three but that doesn’t mean they don’t pose a threat.
I want to see a strong start from our lot, no p*****g about gifting City an early confidence building goal, a strong start and a couple of goals before halftime.
————Szczesny—————-
Jenks–Merts–Kos—Gibbs
——-Arteta—–Flamini
Ramsey—Ozil—-Wilshere
————Giroud———–
Jamie,
Sagna, when fit again, and Gibbs can give us enough width.
Great stuff BR. Santi may not play the whole game, I suppose. Also, have a slight preferance for Arteta and Flamster both playing. Verms could be back for the whole game, or maybe 70 mins. He did a full game in the intl break
Norfolk, but that leaves us in danger of being exploited by a fast break. And besides neither player can boast of being able to beat a defender effectively, something you would expect from an out and out winger.
Evonne: about yesterday, yes, silly indeed!!!!! late predictions: win all except Dortmund away (loss) and ManUre away (draw). Win against Chelski in Balamory Cup, but only on penalties.
Thanks LB for that heads up 🙂
We’re going to need a volunteer to write the match report please. It adds greatly to my enjoyment of the day if I know that someone has already offered 😀 😛 😆
BR
I really like your team up there, Jenkinson in place of Sagna is clever; he gives us much more going forward and that is surely what today should be all about.
LB/ BR: do not completely agree on Jenks going forward. Yes, he overlaps alomg the line, but appears to run out of ideas by the time he is level with the box. But improving fast….
In the Tavern and some female Naarwich fans were dismayed there was no rosay. So they had half and half red wine and white wine. Classy. 🙂
Fine pre-match, BR. Thanks
Arnie
I take your point and wouldn’t like to push too hard but I still think it has slightly more to do with the lack of intelligence in the eighteen yard box rather than a lack of ideas from Jenkinson.
LB,
I fail to understand your point, surely it’s intelligence that forms ideas?
GN5
I was trying not to point the finger so blatantly at Giroud, but hey ho.
That said, Sagna would be my first choice RB by some distance on Tuesday.
Chas its how i served it at my wedding 😀 Well to the locals anyway!
Oh – I see.
Unbelievably they are televising the Swansea/Sunderland game and not Arsenal/Norwich here in Canada, it will be the first game in years that I will be unable to watch.
How f****** dumb is that?
I’ll listen to the game on Arsenal player and watch the game tomorrow. How sad………………..
I don’t trust streams, so I keep away from them, maybe I’m just to careful?
Oooohh Newcastle 2-1 up….looks like we can put ourselves TOTL on our own this afternoon
Ten man Newcastle up 2-1 on Liverpool after 59 minutes.
2 minutes late………………
GN5 I’d say streams are ok, if you have plenty of anti virus and ad blocker (for flash streams) installed. I use Sopcast which tends to be quite reliable, but am on a Mac OSX which worldwide has had 1 known virus in it’s long history…or at least very few, or some would say none as that wasn’t a OSX issue.
Ramsey is not playing
Good job as always Raddy – i would prefer to rest Ramsey, because all of his Wales minutes, also because he works so hard on the pitch, and he was showing a dead leg recently. I think he needs a rest more than anyone, and he may be our most important player to keep healthy this season. Rosicky is rested, so are Arteta and flamini. Why not take advantage of them not playing internationals.
Santi and Ozil both playing
F…k, Pool just equalised
Thanks GIE, but I think I will still err in favour of caution.
I’d sooner miss a game than risk contaminating my system.
Bugger
Just strong armed GoonerB to write the match report 😃
Fun in the pub 😚
Subs
Vermaelen, Rosicky, Ramsey, Monreal, Fabianski, Bendtner, Jenkinson
Arsenal Team
Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gibbs, Wilshere, Arteta, Flamini, Cazorla, Ozil, Giroud
Holy cow, what a line up!!!
Last kick of the game Liverpool 2-2
pretty good, now on to the business side of things
GN5 – you can purchase the LiveOnlineFooty for 1 match for £2 or £7 for 2 months. It is good, honestly
Anyone got a Sopcast stream of the game ready….Wiziwig’s are all flash, and on my network they are all poor
Evonne: last time you mentioned, I tried, but could not get access. Please will you send the correct link to LiveOnlineFooty?
http://sportingstreams.net/watch/livehds/ch5 – Arnie, let me know how you get on with this
GiE – try Roja Directa, they usually have sopcast streams
http://www.rojadirecta.me/
Evonne the problem I have with LOF is i am not sure on the legality…..and the fact that according to the webosphere they are not accepting new members
Thanks Evonne hopefully its a good stream
http://www.rojadirecta.me/goto/milloxtvch6.blogspot.com/
Thanks Evonne, I am trying to register, let us see!!!
GiE – my problem with LOF is that it doesn’t fooking work today!!
cricfree on wiziwig is working OK
I must be a tad crazy.
I’ve got Arsenal player on one browser, Arsenal Arsenal on another, Chelsea/Cardiff on TV and I’m doing a crossword puzzle?
cardiff leading against chelski
Cardiff up 0-1
National Express from Norfolk parked on our pitch
GN5 – you are mad 🙂
stunning team goal, Wilshere
Lol My 442 app is quicker than the stream 😀
Great little bit of play…1-2’s for fun
Santi … Giroud …. Jack …. GOAL. Lovely
beauty!!
Yep…………..dead crazy
1-0 to the good guys…………………JW on a scoring run.
Genius goal — or what?
RA as people on twitter are saying…if that was Barca…..well the media would need new undies and a whole new roll of kleenex
Arsenal playing some stunning football
last 20 mins the best I have seen in a long time, honest!!!!
Blast bor! You hoss all the way down to Lunnon, go into one of they gret old pubs an the dint have any Rose wine, well thass a rum un!
Thats a great save
what a fantastic move, Giroud, great save
I should only have half an eye on the game as am way to busy with work, but the its hard to work with some of the passing on display.
I really like this Arteta/Flamini combo, i don’t think it’s defensive I think it allows the others to play with more freedom, and you really want Özil, Cazorla and even Jack playing with freedom.
Just think player of the season so far isn’t even on the pitch 😀 😀 😀
Did Bacary just tell Szczesny he was standing in wrong place? 😀
Good to see Wojcech smile it off
Flamini off, injured, Ramsey on.
Super stop Szczesny
The media never fails to amuse me…….the BBC headline for the Dippers game….
“Liverpool Held by 10 men Newcastle”
And then first line of report…
“Liverpool twice came back from a goal down as they had to settle for a point against 10-man Newcastle”
So surely the headline should be “10 men Newcastle fail to hold on”, or “Liverpool fight back to get point at 10 Men Newcastle”
Gibbs has been excellent this half
Time to release the handbrake Arsenal
well done, first half, entire team fantastic
Gibbs and Sagna great on the flanks.
The quartet – Santi, Ozil, Wilshere and Giroud great in the middle
BFG, Kos and Szcz fantastic at the back
Arteta and Flamster great in interception when Arsenal lost possession. Flamster injured, replacement Ramsey, have to see how this goes
How’s the ref doing? I dislike Mr. Probert intensely.
NG: No howlers so far
Gorgeous goal 😀
From the Beebs:
A quick trawl through the Fifa rulebook seems to suggest that Chelsea’s goal should not have been allowed.
Law 12 suggests:
‘When a goalkeeper has gained possession of the ball with his hands, he cannot be challenged by an opponent.
‘A goalkeeper is considered to be in control of the ball while the ball is between his hands and any surface (e.g. ground) and while in the act of boucning it on the ground.’
Thanks Arnie, I believe he’s sent off five players in four matches this season.
Giroud is such a strong, strong player. Just missing his shooting luck recently. Hoping to see the first 30 minute magic back again.
Team’s energy seems to have faded after the goal. Boys seem to ave taken it a bit too easy!
Sai if he keeps contributing flick assists like for the first i am not too bothered about goals…..although we are looking a bit disjointed, 2-0 up sit back….not 1-0
I’d rather we dominate possession at 1-0 up rather than trying to play on the counter which seems to be the mentality. Still not quite enough pace to play with a a full tilt counter attack.
GiE: agree 100%
Ok now we can sit back 😀
Özil can head the ball too 😀
Wow! What a great cross from Giroud! Brilliant header from Ozil. 2-0 to Ozil and two clear we go on top!
Santi off Rosicky on….these pundits who suggest we haven’t got a big squad? Do they know Walcott, Pod and Ox are still injured?
Ozil, 2-0
another great goal
2 assists for GIroud. Now, Rosicky could bring some more energy into the game.
another great assist, Giroud
Agreed GIE @ 4:15. Giroud consistently keeps contributing something every game.
Ozi! Ozi! Ozi!
Two nil to The Arsenal!
Chavs just moved into second on goal difference.
Brilliant again from Giroud! He’s unlucky not to score there!
That was a lazy kick from BFG. Easy goal given away!
Someone in midfield has switched off there!
yes, poor goal to give away
fantastic shot, Ramsey, great individual effort
Ramsey is back from tranquility.
C’mon Arsenal we need another goal, don’t go into a defensive shell.
Olly off, Bendy on.
Another save off Ramsey, again from a distance
Ramseyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!
He is unstoppable!
Seriously guys, Ramsey is better than Ozil
What a goal RAMBO!!!!! He isn’t the Welsh Messi, Messi is the Argentine Ramsey!
Now, we can really sit back and relax. When Ramsey gets in the mood, he scores 🙂
wonderful, and great team goal as well……… absolutely best performance in a long long time!!!!!
he scores when he wants 🙂
even better, equalizer against ManUre!!!!!
4-1. The two unstoppable forces combine..
o, wow, this is a goal fest now!!!!! Ozil!!!!!!
Sexy sexy sexy
And we all were calling for Ramsey’s head not too long ago. Well done Rambo
Yes Arnie! I wish BSR doesn’t see Champions League Football anymore..
speak for yourself Jamie!! I never doubted Aaron. There
Happy for Bendy, he seems to be enjoying ….
OK, we’ll have two more then. 😀
Unbelieveable stuff. Now we’re definitely winning the league. Only one problem tho: how do you find space for Theo and Poldi in this team?
united drew, ha ha ha
Have Norwich really had twelve shots on target?
the commentators were singing, they said they could not believe the world class brilliance Arsenal showed today. Wonkers, we’ve always been great
What are the odds on Gollum getting sacked before Christmas? 😀
And United draw….. …. soooo happy for that Dutch front bottom. He’s probably having the time of his life over at the old toilet:-P
why is my comment in moderation, please?
Stunning goals!
It was a game where magic came in bursts of brilliant skill …. it is years since I have seen such a range of superb goal scoring!!
Loved it …… love Arsenal. (drooling — must try and stop!!!!) 🙂
Impressive Rambo stats
George showing them who is boss
My word. What a truly amazing game. Every single goal scored by us was freaking brilliant. One of the best matches I’ve watched Arsenal play over the past few seasons.
Coyg!
What are the chances of someone eventually saying we were lucky?
The same ones who said Jack and Ozil cannot, or do not, score goals presumably! 🙂
If you have seen the movie Madagascar, you will have seen the lady hippo dancing in a frou-frou on tippy toes.
Well, after that game I feel and look like a male hippo version!! 😳
Maybe I should have left Sniffer’s comment up this morning….Arsene’s team selection holding Arsenal back……Trollolollololololololoololo
Surely its time for a bit of Arsene dancing?
http://fuldans.se/?v=tpoljgeecn
Jamie by the way the reason your comment dropped into moderation is the *’d word.
Here we normally go with “Peaches Mum Banned Word” Or “Front bottom” as there was far too much use of the word and readers (like PeachesMum) were being offended.
Most heartening outcome in this match was Bendy’s cameo. Shows that he could be solid backup for OG.
Is his improving form attributable to taking on AA’s shirt number?
Thanks for the heads up GIE. Point noted.
Two new things we learnt about the team today. And both were fantastic.
1. Santi and Ozil will be a great combination. yes, Santi was a bit rusty, understandably, but still their coordination was fantastic.
2. We all know Giroud as a goal scorer, but his two assists, and particularly the first one, were simply outstanding. And they created the first two goals, which is even more significant. After that, it was just time to toy with the opposition.
And if I may add a third, Bendy was really good.
This team is looking fantastic now…..
Anthony Taylor gives a shocking decision for Chavs against Hull by all accounts…….hmmmm more noise when its against the little’uns isn’t it!
4-1 eh? And you tell me the performance was as good as the scoreline. A pity I couldn’t be there but am delighted GoonerB was able to make use of my seat.
With Liverpool not making the best of superior numbers, definitely a good day for us. Just a shame that Southampton snatched a point at the death…..
🙂
I laughed a bit when NikB started showboat step-overs….confidence spreads i guess
😀 26
“I wanna sing, about the moon and the June and the spring. I wanna sing, I wanna siiinnnngg” 😀
Watched the game in a Gooner pub.
We were excellent apart from a 10 minute spell after half time. JW is getting back to top form. OG tremendous once again.
ToTL
pull yourself together dhakka, enough of that nonsence
chubby cherub oooooh he is growing so fast, gorgeous kid
How bad is Flamster?
We got a glimpse at the end of what things will be like when we start playing with a false number nine.
Some great goals today.
And I still go along with Kelsey when he says that there is still 20% more to come from this team.
RA
Your 5.25 conjures a very funny image.
I’ve just realised I can now collect on my post-Villa defeat bets: we will be top of the PL at the end of October. £10 each please, lads, you know who you are!
26. Well played.
A brave bet and one we are all happy you won!
Erm 26? Don’t we have to play Palace first?
Oh bugger, getting ahead of myself. Sorry, put the tenners away…..
I am glad there has been a stay of accounting, 26, but I know you would not want to collect from a slightly deranged dancing fool of a hippo. Would you?? 😛
Oh I would, RA, when it comes to cash, I discriminate not…..
Don’t know if anyone saw the first half of the Whammers v Northern Oilers, but I thought WHU played well but City are still good for their 1-0 lead. Negredo’s role in Aguero’s goal was excellent: the art of doing absolutely nothing, and being very creative about it!
Great pre-match BR (natch)
As Gn5 said, it wasn’t on telly here in Canadia so I had to go to the pub (Scallywags, Gn5) where they had a stream. The stream went down at half time because of a major problem with TSN (the network showing it).
We missed our second goal and Norwich’s goal, then someone got a stream going on their smart phone and the last 20 minutes involved the amusing spectacle of 20 Gooners crammed round one bloke’s phone. But at least we saw our wonderful 3rd and excellent 4th.
This team has SO much potential.
Just need a Hammers equaliser to round off a great day.
RA
Is that you Redders?
Anyone want a seat for Dortmund? 82 pound ticket for £60, only disadvantage is having to sit with Ant and me in the upper tier, block 115. 🙂
Dammit Chas, I would love that ticket. Not just for the game, but for the Ant ‘n’ Duck show 🙂
Sadly the return flight from Toronto rules me out…
Hooray!!!
How you doing Sniffer?
Chas: The Dortmund game would have been fantastic, but unfortunately, not this time.
But, I know its early, can anyone suggest something interesting for the Palace game? I will be in London on Friday, and could watch the game somewhere (either go to the ground, or otherwise a pub or somewhere else). Plan to take a late evening flight on Saturday.
Hi Oh Mighty scribe, aka Rockadillo. 🙂
Yes, ’tis I.
My iPhone is far too clever for me now that I have the ios7 software, and it keeps clearing history, including names. I cannot be assed to find out how to adjust it at the mo’, so I have to keep typing out my avatar name.
An abbreviation seemed the easiest solution.
26, can we agree a favourable exchange rate – well to me, naturally — how about £1 = $0.5? Seems about right.
I am hippo like, but did I tell you my uncle Zach is a long-tailed weasel? 🙂
guys, who is that brilliant WH player that media are raving about? Under 19 and English me thinks
Oooh – Hammers have pulled one back. Let’s hope they can equalize…
$16.17 will do me, thanks RA…..
I know what you mean about ios7, bit of a pain in the arse. You haven’t put Safari on private browsing have you? I think that sometimes clears settings etc.
Redders
Are you in the US for the long haul now, or heading back to the UK at some point?
Evonne, did you mean Ravel Morrison?
Have finally got round to seeing our second (very nice goal) and Norwich’s… the BFG sliced his clearance but I also thought Gibbs could have done better to try and block the shot or get a challenge in on the Norwich player.
Still, I shouldn’t carp after some of the great football today.
I’m not sure 26m, but I overheard pundits talking about him as if he was the next Messiah. Is Morrison 19 and with some discipline problems?
You could say that, evonne, bit of a wild one. But very talented. Gets his head together, and he’ll be top grade.
3-1 to City. I might hate the club but Aguero, bloody love that guy.
26may: Not watching the game, but apparently Aguero should have got a hatrick today?
yes 26, that’s him. He scored that magnificent goal against the team in 7th position. Thanks
arnie, I haven’t been watching the whole game but from what I have seen, it certainly looks like Aguero’s had a good day.
FFBW didn’t have a good game 🙂
Have a very similar browsing problem to RA with Safari on ios7 not got a clue but it affects all websites…I keep getting cookie notifications and have to re enter details as RA says.
I have tried all different kind of settings in privacy in Safari and well everywhere….it’s all a bit poo.
Regarding Norwich’s goal definitely think midfield is more responsible than defence.
BFG takes his normal position doesn’t get the happiest of strikes on the clearance.
Gibbs has his man marked back to goal so is getting ready to shepherd him away.
Howson arrives from deep with no tracking runner. Which means Gibbs has to change what he is doing but if he over commits he allows his man to be easily played in.
Need to watch again with a wide angle to see where everyone is but my guess is Ozil, Jack, Rambo or Rosicky should have gone with Howson.
In other news 6-0-6 featured largely on United and Anthony Taylor tonight, apparently keeper is bouncing the ball in his area Eto’o nicks it and plays Hazard in to score.
I’m going to need to look at the law because I knew the keeper cannot be tackled while in process of clearing the ball from his hands (throwing or drop kick ) but just standing there bouncing the ball I’m not sure…especially if bouncing with one hand.
Just watched it personally think that’s fair game.
Altho law 12 as quoted by Arnie above seems to suggest otherwise. Altho Arnie’s quote specifies between his hands plural……the keeper bounces it with one hand
I stand corrected:
And its as a result of the 6 second law…..which never gets applied!
A goalkeeper is not permitted to keep control of the ball in his hands for more than six seconds. A goalkeeper is considered to be in control of the ball:
* while the ball is between his hands and any surface (e.g. ground, own body)
* while holding the ball in his outstretched open hand
* while in the act of boucning it on the ground or tossing it in the air
When a goal keeper has gained possession of the ball with his hands, he cannot be challenged by an opponent.
So if this rule was applied years ago, this goal would never have happened:
Great result today and what beautiful goals! Loved it, despite the fact that we were only superb in parts. Hope Flamini’s ok. Looking forward with great anticipation to the Dortmund game.
Man U drawing made it even better. I really hope they finish out of the top 4.
Chelsea’s goal should not have stood. If the ball is considered to be not in the keeper’s control there, then every time a keeper bounces the ball, a free kick should be awarded to the opposition because he can’t reclaim the ball with his hands once he lets go. The law is pretty clear anyway. No goal. Wrong decision.
Amazing the difference in commentary Chas….the commentator believed we should have been awarded the goal…..wouldn’t get that today!
The difference between those ones is that the keeper was in the act of clearing the ball, so was always a foul, the keeper could never be impeded/tackled while taking the drop kick….Best made about three offences everytime he moved when Banks changed direction.
Shard actually made me laugha couple of Chavs rang 6-0-6 to tear strips out of Taylor saying he gave everything for Cardiff, lots of decisions incorrect……..i don’t think it will be long before he is relegated.
Thanks for the post Raddy
What a splendid day. Like Redders, i was so happy with the goals we scored that when i got home i immediatly went into a Zorba like dance. Unfortunately Mrs Terry met me at the door and told me the bad news that her aunt had fallen down the stairs and broken her leg, but i was so happy i could not stop the dance. I did instantly say “Thats terrible” but i was half way through doing a siscors kick and twirl.
Now Mrs Terry is not talking or acknowleding me so the day just gets better and better
I would like to discuss “vindication”
Not only is Arsene now been vindicated with the faith he put into his young players and his general football philosophy he will soon be vindicated in a massive way that will exceed all our expectations.
Arsene Wenger is not just the right man to lead us forward, he is the only man to lead us forward.
Before he retires he will drive us to more Titles, and if there is any justice, the Champions League to
The Ghosts of the Thirties are Stirring
Wifes not talking and Terry’s stirring goats again…all is well with the world 😀
Although for what its worth totally agree.
Anyone think DB10 and Pires’s presence in London could see them end up with positions in the Academy? Kind of thinking Brady’s vacated post may be perfect for God.
Hi GIE, i think Robert P has some sort of ambasador role at the club, what ever that means
Saw DB10 been interviewed this morning and he clearly sent out the mesage that Liams old role is the one he wants.
It would be fantastic to have both those guys involved at the Club, i love them
I am so happy ime off for another dance
i want to go to sleep but waiting for buzzing Peaches to return from the Ems and gloat
I cannot stop singing ‘we on the way, we on the way, we going to Wembley, we’re on our way….’. Early days yet but I can almost smell glory
Well done Sniffer……if it makes you feel better we lost to Blackburn the year they were relegated.
Hi happy chums – what a great game 😀 wow we played some stunning football. I was worried when the Flamster went off, what was strange was that Rambo was fantastic when he came on but something definitely went a bit wrong with the others. Still it worked out ok in the end.
Welsh wizard, Ozil wonderland, Santi Cazorla back, assists from Giroud and Highbury is alive and well in the Emirates.
Chuffed evonne ………… I’m purring 😆
Ok, kept popping out of the sea to check the score.
Thing is this, were the goals any good? 🙂
Ooops, sorry Raddy.
Thank you for a great PM as usual. You sure know how to show a Lady a good time, don’t you. Off to Budapest and straight into a Gooner Bar 🙂
Peaches
“Rambo was fantastic when he came on but something definitely went a bit wrong with the others”
Maybe the likes of Ozil and Santi are a little Star Struck. It can be a problem with having Superstars 🙂
Micky – were the goals any good? You just make sure you watch them 😆
Oh and I forgot to say how impressed I was with Nick, didn’t put a foot wrong, desperately wanted to score.
Come on Arsenal
Peaches
Yeah, I’ve heard they were ok. 🙂
It’ll be a full session on Iplayer tomorrow.
Can we assume the team are happily settled, and that we will tear Dortmund to shreds on Tuesday?
Nite all.
After I found that Dibble clip earlier I found a couple of David Seaman compilations, I forgot how good he was. Puts any Arsenal keeper or England keeper since to shame.
But I would love to have him back at Arsenal coaching, the one thing I loved about him was his composure and calmness after making save. So rarely did he bollock anyone for making a save. He just did his job. Notice some of that has been in Szczesny’s game of late. Maybe Bouldie is having words.
https://twitter.com/mike_arsenal/status/391605394583195648
I’m sure it’s academic, Chelsea would have won today (Cardiff look really poor), but Eto’o clearly fouled the keeper before the first goal. It’s pretty shocking that neither referee nor linesman spotted it.
26 but not that shocking given the referee now is it? Remember he was not at fault in our game with Villa at all….because little team won.
Mourinho apparently sent to the stands for moaning about time wasting…….Mourinho moaning about gamesmanship …….. ROLF
GiE: good one, Hansen – scum no 1.
26: on the result of the chavs game, dont quite agree, if the equaliser would not have come through a ref mistake, who knows what would have happens.
Most importantly, highlights again the poor quality of refereeing in the EPL
Completely agree, the refs in this country are absolutely woeful. I have seriously considered dusting off my own refs’ badge (I really do have one) – even at 44 with a duff knee, I must be better than these muppets.
But come on, Cardiff are pants, Chelsea would’ve won without the cheating goal.
How lucky are we, to have a player of Rosicky’s quality in reserve? Christ, he might not even make the bench once everyone’s fit.
the team looks really fantastic. Rosicky was great (the chip for the second Ozil goal was sublime!). So was everyone else. There was no area on the pitch where we looked deficient today. What a game!!
My Cousin in Law (40ish) and his son (19) have been reffing for a few years, the eldest took it up because he wanted to have some authority if he was asked to ref his sons games. Now fully qualified and loves it….he played a lot of football before and has seen it as a way to stay involved, the son was never that good at playing but has enjoyed reffing he mainly does kids but does a few senior matches running the line.
Even though they are a long way down the officiating pyramid it’s always interesting watching games with them….the things they see as a result of the ref courses is interesting.
Last time I saw them they explained how it is frowned upon if they use the wrong hand to hold up a flag when making various signals. I wouldn’t even be able to remember it let alone make the decisions.
Thought you might like this little discussion about Ozil and Arsenal from a ManUre blog where they’re tearing their hair out about their lack of creative talent:
exactly…i dont think ive seen united play a really good game this season in the league…
and thats really worrying…after 8 games united is already 8 points behind arsenal(who btw look like nothing will stop them)…

Its amazing how much Ozil made a difference, who we failed to get or didn’t want.

unbelievably good…
was expected …ozil is that good…but its not just him…the entire team looks brilliant…ramsey wilshere and ozil are killing it….flamini has brought back that steel that arsenal required….and now even giroud is creating…but so far ramsey has been scoring for fun…

Yep a genuine World Class performer
Week in week out, always contributes, top,top footballer
Ozil would be completely and utterly wasted in this system.

If Moyes doesn’t know how to use Kagawa, then he wouldnt know what to do with Ozil.
by astrotrain on Oct 19, 2013 | 5:15 PM up reply
It’s not that, but where would you play him?
4-4-2 and the front 2 are pretty much set. Shunt him out wide like Januzaj? Would be a complete waste.

The rest of it was actually quite an intelligent discussion about ManUre’s woes. None of the commenters seem to have much faith in Moist pulling things round and the concensus was that he is playing an old-fashioned style of football which leaves ManUre years behind the more progressive European teams.
I wonder how the little boy inside BSR is feeling today? 🙂
This is how to do football commentary, combined with the best Arsenal goal of all time 🙂

Here’s more from the great man
“Ommmm, ommmmm, tika taka, ommmmm Rrrrrrramseeeey”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nO9xm2ToaVk
In the epic words of Evonne; “Where is everyone?”
Ok, her comment was at about 3:15am, but hey 🙂
ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAMMMMMMSSSSSSEEEEEEYY
Motning Chas
I think your ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH is better than my ommmmm, but my Rrrrrrramseeeey is better than your RRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAMMMMMMSSSSSSEEEEEEYY
I’ve been watching that goal on Arsenal Iplayer and youtube for about an hour 🙂
Motning, how was the surf?

Damn I was getting pissed off last night. Driving around, had TS on the radio, and all they talked about what some stupid bollocks incident at Cheslea.
Ok, so they’re not Gunners, but surely some drooling was in order. I mean, Cardiff are pants, Chavs would have won and Maureen is a knob of the highest order. Who gives a shit?
Turn and backheel gif
Tika-Taka, Wacky Bacca
Ha ha Porn Hub 🙂
I see you have a spare for Dortmund. I am so, so tempted, but off to Paris on thurs, and not sure I have time for all the travelling
Wow, those gif things are sensational. You know how watching flames or even waves can be hypnotic, the Wilshere goal does the same thing.
And some say Giroud is not an intelligent footballer 🙂
synchronicity
Surf good, but not perfect. Wind came around to the side, so a bit messy. Feeling a bit sorry for Oscar. Said he was so knackered when getting out, he could hardly pick up his board. He was the smallest/youngest by a long long way, and it is very hard work getting out over powerful autumn swells.
How’s about a Twitchy Nutsack gif?
Good character building for the lad, I’m sure.
Nice peaceful day in front of Arsenal Player should sort him out. 🙂
ROLFING
Oooo, over 200 comments. We really hate good news. Eh Chas!!!

You like the bottom of the one on the right, don’t you? 🙂
Yah, somewhere to eat breakfast. 🙂
Ha ha. I remembered your comment about something you could eat off 🙂
Also, animal prints on girls scream one thing to me “It’s on”
Those Naaaarwich women drinking half and half white and red wine instead of Rosé were completely battered. One of them left the pub heading towards Stamford Hill. Really funny.
Meeting Irish’s Dad was an unexpected highlight yesterday. When he shook my hand, it just disappeared. Massive, massive hands like Pat Jennings. 🙂
If they’d plopped some soda into the mix, they’d have called it Pink Champagne
That’s Mandy with the print on. Ozil probably completed his hat trick last night.
Must go, sees yous laters.
Off to beauty parlour? 🙂
Laters indeed.
🙂 🙂 😆 🙂 🙂 😆
which is your favourite goal then Micky?
Mine is Rambo’s
Shut up Hansen, WE TOLD YOU LONG AGO we are the best team in the world
those citations from Manure posted by Rocky are superb.
And what did GiE say about Rambo being the Welsh Messi? Oh yeah, that Messi is an Argentine Rambo 😆 🙂 😆
and one for you Micky – book a ticket to lodon for a show. The kebab owners are Greek Manu fans. The woman has a Manure tattoo on her arm; each time she saw me (for the past x years) she laughs and says ‘It’s all about winning, all about winning’. Do you get a jest?
The kebab shop is being refurbished now, I cannot wait for the grand opening 🙂
Beautiful football, a throwback to the ‘Invincibles’.
I think Hansen is gutted that Liverpool couldn’t beat 10-man Toon.
Can we win the league? We’ll take some stopping if we keep playing like this, I hope we haven’t peaked too soon.
Delighted for Aaron Ramsey after his horrific leg-break, what a phenomenal footballer he has become.
The arrival of Mesut Ozil has raised everyone’s game, we have a menace about us I’ve not seen for a while. As it stands, we’re very much in the title race, and setting the pace too.
You just know everything is right in the world when Arsenal are sitting at the top of the table.
Morning all,
Fantastic game, brilliant performances all round, incredible goals, I’d just like to say a word in praise of Koscielny, he was excellent and filled in all the gaps at the back.
Morning all
Just sorting the new post ……. back in a couple of minutes
There’s a New Post …………
I’ll put the pics in a bit.
