Over the last day or two, I have been alluding to the latest of my brilliant ideas. The beauty about this one is that I have unearthed not only the cause of our troubles but also the solution. The other day Mike talked about Eto on RA’s excellent post about Wengerball, and between them, I thought they were going to steal my thunder.
Few could argue about the best to watch as well as most effective of Arsène’s teams. One immediately has images of Bobby, Freddy, DB10 and TH cutting loose in a swift, elegant, fluid, incisive and most importantly decisive move.
So, AW’s most perfect team, and not a whiff of 4-3-3. Then, along came a superb Barca team. Gradually, I believe AW became infatuated with their style. Everything about Barca appeared to gel with his beliefs about the beautiful game, the pedigree, and the style.
Now many of you may recall my call for “Thrust” but I am now going to add meat to that theory. I believe we are modelled on elements both the Ajax and Barca templates from a footballing standpoint as well as a structural environment. However, it is the footballing angle I want to focus on, and this brings me onto the Barca 4-3-3. I do believe the way Barca employ this system has served as Arsene’s inspiration. The question I am asking is: Which Barca Model.
I believe there are two. I shall call MK1 and MK2.
How good are the present (Mk2) Barca without the “Little Fella”? I say they would be alright, pretty to watch but lack end product and thrust. Great build up, lots of possession but lack the killer instinct. Oh and the attack lacks strength and above all explosive power. Sounds familiar? Now the day Arsene became obsessed with the 4-3-3 Barca (Mk1) model, they were not reliant on one man. Their front three were very powerful and all had goals in them. Think Henry and Eto. Big, strong and immensely powerful front men, who along with young Messi, could move seamlessly anywhere along the front and each capable of scoring goals out of nothing.
The Invincibles shared many similar characteristics to the Mk1 Model. Think Eto and Henry with Messi the provider. Now think Bobby, Henry with DB10 the provider. Power, thrust and guile. Both set ups possessed that immense and explosive power. Now consider the present Barca front three to our own. Again remarkably similar. A whole lot less power. The real difference is that the Catalans have Messi. He is now about 12 years old, a full three years more mature. I believe that without him the two teams would be on a par. The theory that one man a team doth not make is utter bollocks. Ask Juve, Inter, and the AC players of the 80’s what they thought of the title winning Napoli side. Yip one man band. The other Little Fella. Let’s not forget that given Messi’s age, we are almost certainly witnessing the Worlds’ Greatest Ever Footballer.
So, in a nutshell, here’s how I see it. Arsène had the Invincibles, and he thought to himself: “This is very good. We are the Masters of the English Game. Now Europe. Look at Barca. They play 4-3-3 and it looks unbelievably sexy to me. We shall do the same. We shall recreate the Invincibles, only this time we will send them out three up top Europeany style, and they shall wear tutu’s”.
The problem is this. He has been deceived into thinking that the Messi and MK2 is a more evolved version of Messi and MK1. It is not. It is considerably less effective when confronted by powerful teams, versatile and well set up teams. The 4-3-3 without power lacks bite, and becomes very easy to nullify.. Ask Jose. Arsene is modelling our system on the Messi MK2 Barca and not the Messi MK1. They are very very different.
Some are calling for us to revert to the 4-4-2 in an attempt to recapture the winning formula of old, and I understand this, however, we should be able to play both systems. We cannot, at present, play either effectively, and nor I believe could Barca without their Argentine Maestro.
We are rapidly approaching the summer break and everything that entails regarding rethinking personnel, tactics, formations and additions. I don’t believe the root of our troubles lies at the back. Our defensive record is not so bad (injuries in that department are). We need to address the Power Dimension of our game.
Do not be deceived by The Messi Effect. To the “Thrust” I feel we need to add “Power, Intensity”. Oh, and keep the Tutu’s naturally!
Arsenal News 24/7

Where is everyone?
great post Micky 😉
I would say we would need more flexibility and less of cowardly tactics – I mean, lone striker against Blackburn Rovers at home, really?
you may recall me advocating signing a few big ugly mofos with reasonable or higher level of skill for a couple of years…
the boxing pundits say that a good big ‘un will always beat a good little ‘un, and you don’t need to strecth it that much for it to apply here…
GM. Waiting! Still in Vietnam?
Micky. Firstly, may I say how enjoyable it was to watch the game with you.
Secondly, another fine post. How would you suggest we get “power”? Do we have it within the squad and need a different tactical approach or it “power” to be bought, and if so, where?
Suga. Would you have Messi or Crouch?
BR,
let me think for a moment, do you consider Crouch ‘good’?
I know I don’t…
can we at least compare like for like quality wise? it’s a non-point otherwise, no offence 😉
I doubt AW has copied anyone. He is simply too stubborn. Football has evolved in the last few years, with most teams playing 433 or 451 now, especially in Europe.
And not much point asking Mourinho how to beat them – Madrid were spanked by them earlier in the season.
I agree on the thrust/power issue though. Too much is being made of defence, when we are not letting in many more goals than ManU etc. We do lack powerful counter attacking play at times, which was once a big weapon of ours.
As for Messi – you may have a point, and Im sure there are stats somewhere that will confirm/deny your theory.
My own personal opinion is that if we had signed a top notch keeper at the beginning of the season, we would have won the CC final, and would have at least 5/7 more points in the bag.
playing Szczesny from the beginning of the season would yield more points alone!
do we really need to pay an arm and a leg to buy a GK that will be just a bit of improvement over the young ‘un and command silly wages?
that would be poor management, there are more burning issues to address, you know…
Hi Raddy
I’m still in Ho Chi Minh. It’s really hot here. I ate cobra for lunch yesterday and met the bitch who tried to get RVP done for rape.
Great post Mickey.
Flexibility in our attacking play is amiss. Of the 3 attackers started against Blackburn Theo stays right and as such forced RvP and Arsh to hold their positions. If those three could move around more perhaps.
So maybe the best front three for us is RvP, Nasri and Arsh a more intelligent and fluid attack without Theo?
OK Messi / Ibra. The best finisher I have ever seen, Ian Wright, Wright, Wright, was a little man. My point being that the good big un’s analogy doesn’t apply so well in football. A blend is what is needed and a blend is what we have, though when Song is missing we seriously lack bulk in MF. Vieira’s are few and far between, those who can ally size and touch, which is why I like Djourou so much, he is IMO our best CB.
Going back to yesterday and your D****n discussion. It should be recalled that the Brazilian is at present 3rd choice in his position and with the return of Frimpong, 4th choice. Who could have foreseen that the exciting prospect of just 3 seasons ago would develop into such a nervy player? He will surely want to be sold in summer as he realises he will not get much playing time at AFC. Sadly, the same applies to Nik.
GM. And here I am stuck in cold, cloudy windy CPH! Though I did eat eel for lunch yesterday 😉
Jealous, moi?
p.s. Was she fit?
GIE.
Why not experiment with Theo upfront and RvP playing behind him (so to speak) and drifting out wide? Just to shake it up for a few minutes. Our problems seem to lie in our inablility to change tactics through a game. We are adept at changing tempo and allowing our MF to play all over the attacking line, yet Theo rarely goes central.
Right. You lot are bored with me already.
I will just have to go to work …..
Hi Mickey,
Great post with excellent posts to debate. In my opinion as I said yesterday the players have let us and themselves down irrespective of formation. When attacking the principles are
1. movement
2. Depth and Width
3. Support
4.Penetration
5. Creativity
I would argue in recent times we have not seen anywhere near the amount of movement we are accustomed to. We regularly get width and depth and support. Our penetration has been blunted in recent games ( hence the 0-0 ) and when we have penetrated we have not been clinical. Creativity has been sorely missed and someone pointed out yesterday that could be a consequence of the atmosphere in the ground…I think I agree.
I wont go into the principles of defence other than to say we still regularly make fundamental errors of judgement therefore allowing teams to score against us with little effort and I find this extremely frustrating. I think if players cut out these ridiculous mistakes our formation becomes irrelevant
i wouldnt mind 433 but its not. its 451. we need strikers. vela left walcott right rvp centre. then yank song out. and leave nasri (iniesta) fabregas (xavi) and wilshere (busquets) to do the creating. sell sagna. sell clichy. get bombing wing backs and poof. job done.
Raddy
She’s got a big arse but that’s about it. Very sleazy, even the locals see through her.
notice. never have barca had big forwards for there system. all we have is big forwards. we need pace.
http://us.24h.com.vn/thoi-trang/soi-ha-anh-hoang-my-xung-xinh-du-tiec-c78a369933.html
see how hard my life is Raddy 🙂
BR,
say what you want, but I don’t think Ibra is all that either, nothing but a glorified Bendtner, IMO 😉
Messi is a freak of nature, currently the best footballer on the planet, full stop…
to compare them, you would have to have a big ‘un with the same ability and there is no such player around…
big ‘un will usually add strength and presence to the bag of tricks of the little ‘un, plus, he does not need to leap as much to het to the high balls, which gives him the benefit of more ad hoc mobility – you know that makes sense, don’t you?
Guy you’re a genius why haven’t you got a football management job already?
Agree with Wonderman here, movement and depth have been absent in last few weeks. That in turn enables creativity as it gives options.
quite agree with your comment. Without messi, barca would simply look like arsenal. Arsenal is missing that messi-factor.
Our problem is having too many players of a similar type therefore creating an unbalanced team. We would be unbalanced currently in either 4-4-2 or 4-3-3. For me I am fine with the 4-3-3 as we have so many good wing forward / number 10 type players. What we are missing is a world class striker to spearhead the attack. For me RVP is a world class forward but, although he will still score goals, lacks the pace to lead the line permanently. I also feel it wastes his ability in link up play and slipping in that little pass that splits defences. We had Wright then Anelka then Henry. All quick and all lethal finishers. Since Henry left we have not had that player so we end up unbalanced up front and despite scoring many goals against some teams we struggle to break down better defensive units. The 4-3-3 also needs a good DM. Song is fine for me but we have no back up to him. Denilson and Diaby are not good enough at this role so when Song is missing we are unbalanced again. Also Song has looked tired in some games in the new year and not been at his best due to our over-reliance of him for this role. If we had had Parker all season and someone like Pato up front we would be walking this league now.
GIE,
because I am too old to do all the badges and I chose another pat of career, where I’m not doing half bad – howzat?
and you resorting to ad personam nonsense says it all…
whoops, my bad 😉
however, the point about ad personam stuff still stands 😉
Browny,
nail on the head, there is no balance, essentially, as far as the midfield is concerned, we have Cesc, a few better or worse clones of Cesc and Song…
JW is a Cesc/Song clone? Surely not. Nasri/AA clones? Perhaps in that they are both slight.
Very quiet here today which may reflect the general feeling of depression following the B’burn game. Like AW I cannot understand how we threw away 3 points against a very ordinary team. The AFC of earlier in the season would have annihilated them.
Excellent piece Micky.
We were blessed with an amazing array of talent with the Invincibles but even with DB10, Bobby, PV4 and Freddie, would we have been as successful without TH14? For a couple of years TH was, without doubt, the best attacking player in the world (a travesty that he never won the ballon d’or). My point being, that even a team of amazing world class players needs a world class striker in order to be world class.
You make the point very well about Messi. Without him, Barcelona would be significantly less effective. Ditto it’s no surprise that Man Utd (despite leading the EPL) look nothing like the team they were when they had Ronaldo.
We have lacked a world class striker since Thierry left. Adebarndoor had one decent season but was never in the same class as TH. (In that season we were creating great goal chances for fun and TH would have scored twice as many as the wasteful Ade).
RvP, as many have said, is an excellent player but not an out-and-out, lead-the-line striker.
Even though our current team can’t really hold a candle to the Invincibles, if we’d had TH14 in his prime in this year’s team we would probably be 6 points clear at the top.
Conclusion: Buy a world class striker in the summer (I know, easier said than done).
This is the second time this week someone has used the old boxing line about “a good big ‘un will always beat a good little ‘un.” (I think it was Redders earlier in the week).
While that is undoubtedly true for boxing, and while power undoubtedly is important in footy, can I just say:
Messi
Maradona
Georgi Hagi
Ian Wright
Michael Owen
Bremner
Romario
Bebeto
Stoichkov
Deschamps
Scholes
Giles
etc
etc
etc
Afternoon all 🙂
Micky, an excellent piece and an interesting thought process to follow. I hadn’t thought so much about Barcas MkI and MkII. I think that while Pedro might be a significant step down from TH- Villa definitely compares well to Eto’o. Mike’s comment the other day about Eto’o was inspired I thought. I has stayed with me at any rate.
Sunny weather may explain a quietness on the site today. I have personally found it a bit exhausting at times over the last 24 hours so have been keeping a low profile!
Definitely agree that we need a quicksilver-rapier-thrust of an attacking player to add to the attack. Unless Walcott can really grab that central spot and stay injury free in which case it comes down to “wingers” for me again…
Big Raddy,
perhaps the sentence was not clear enough: a few Cesc clones + one Song was what I meant:
Cesc, Nasri, Ramsey, Jack, Denilson (not a DM) are essentially all the same player, just up or down a notch quality wise…
Diaby is non-existent, given his fitness record and AA is a forward in my book, not a midfielder…
hope it’s clearer now, I’m off to do some boring stuff in the bank 😉
BR,
I’ll tell you why its quiet, and it has nothing to do with depression. Everybody is heading down to Cornwall with their surf boards. Just got back from tooling down the A30 and its heeving already!
Keep off my beach, I say.
And a very great pleasure sitting with you (I did comment to that effect the following day).
Afternoon all.
Suga,
Some balaclava work for a little something for the weekend?
Carlito,
You found a thought process? You are even cleverer than wot I thought, and that was clever 🙂
Micky,
told you it was the boring stuff I was going to do 😉
Where’s RA? He’s normally here brightening up the blog during daylight hours- I hope he didn’t take my Accountants Anonymous comment yesterday to heart…
Carlito,
Its friday, he’s probably still sending out enormous bills. He did not start until nine this morning! 🙂
He’s also probably sulking following the surfacing of 26, thus scotching the rumour that Evonne ate him. The competition is alive and kicking.
That’ll explain it! 🙂
Did I get it wrong or was it you, Micky, with the gem about RvP scoring every 4 attempts or somesuch?
Sunshine beckons- toodle pip!!
Carlito,
Yip, and indeed sunshine time. Hanky on head.
I fear a long trip home to Norwich as holidaymakers head east for Easter…..see what I did there. A weekend on Norfolk beaches beckons, and hopefully a fine one for the Arse on the Lancashire coast. Should be a good game.
check out this gem:
no points for guessing who said that…
was it maureen?
Just read the whole article. We never beat them though do we?
Do I always do the blogfart?
Realistic isn’t he.
gm,
we don’t even try our hardest, the mindset inside the club is rotten to the core, top to bottom!
one thing for sure: Usmanov would have his head on a silver platter for this kind of statement…
and before anyone says anything about rape accusations and all that stuff, remember that Robin was accused of that too – maybe it was bollocks, maybe not, what makes you so sure it’s gospel in Usmanov’s case?
and what makes you think the rest of the board are choir boys?
now, onto the share issue thing:
Usmanov wanted the club to issue £100M worth of new shares, and the rest of the shareholders said ‘no’, you know why?
because they would have to invest some money or face their share being diluted, as the club’s value does not go up that way, it’s simple maths, really:
– Kroenke: £29.9M to invest
– Fiszman: £16.1M to invest
– Lady Nina: £15.9M to invest
– pisshead tomato farmer from Kent: 640K to invest
neither of them could or wanted to invest, which would see Usmanov buy the lot – according to Wiki the club is worth £768M, issue of £100M worth of shares would generate proportional number of shares at the current price, which would not be sold in the open market, but amongst the board of directors, otherwise someone else would want a piece of that, which would drive the share price up, not down, based on the most basic law of supply and demand…
like I said above, this would require other board members to invest proportionally to the percentage owned in order to avoid dilution of their share, here is an example:
Kroenke: 29.9% of shares out of £768M is about £230M, not investing takes his percentage to about 26.4%
and so on…
I think a big problem with our game is the way our forwards consistently drop out of the opposition defence to get the ball.
Surely that must have an effect on their chances to score, not being anywhere near the goal for nine tenths of the game?
I think one of our real weaknesses is the lack of a real striker, perhaps with the exception of the confidence shorn Chamakh.
RvP is a Forward, but not a striker, he’s not an “off the shoulder” player, he revel’s in space and time to create genius, not being shoulder to shoulder with a centre-back.
Bendtner, I’m just not sure about. His finishing is woeful.
We need selfish strikers, the “you give me the ball and I will score” type. Too much emphasis is on the way we retain posession and the beautiful football but if we don’t stick it in the net then whats the point?
We cross to noone in the box, We attack sideways not forwards and we’re afraid of using a long ball.
Its wierd, Wenger accuses teams of anti-football yet by refusing to use such parts of the game like that we are handicapping ourselves. I don’t want to see us become a kick and run team, but without varying our tactics we become stale and readable.
WG
GM. It appears as all AA’ers have donned their baggies, are waxing down their surfboards and can’t wait for June! (guess the lyric?)
Whereas you are surrounded by beauties and living the life of Reilly.
Poor me ……
You guys make me laugh. Without Messi, Barca would be nothing. Who is your Xavi? Fabregas, don’t make me laugh. The media is just repeating. We dont want him.
Who is your puyol or pique?
Who is your top striker? Not just Messi replacement but your top striker?
Pedro and Villa are brilliant strikers(They have each scored 20 or over times this season each which is more than any arsenal player this season). Rvp is on 15 all comps LMAO.Then young Bojan who will be a top class striker
Haha Arse-nil fans, you really make me laugh. Barca are Barca because of Messi, one wicked ass player. Haha
WG. David Villa was the man to sign, but we never going to pay the money nor with Barca calling would he have come. I would sign Eto’o for one farewell season – the man is awesome, 32 goals in 41 apps in Serie A!
I am totally with you about this tactic. Where is our Bobby Pires who was always attacking the 12 yard line?
Suga I agree with some of what you say but I think Usmanov is rotten to the core. I met the slapper who accused RVP of rape yesterday and I know anyone can do it. I don’t remember Robin getting lawyers to threaten anyone who mentioned his rape case. When the fat uzbek got involved he had Arsenal blogs closed down for mentioning there were allegations. He can get the shares and launch a takeover at any time so he should maybe put his money where his mouth is. It’s worth mentioning that the other shareholders don’t take dividends and he wants to. I’ve been in a position where a bigger share holder wanted to water down my shareholding by throwing their money around they were cunts too. Even Dein has nothing to do with him anymore.
Raddy
I’ve got a photo shoot tomorrow at 5AM (albeit with 7 gorgeous girls) so It’s not all a life of riley
now, is there anyone who thinks the man has not gone gaga?
and the AKBs call the likes of me ‘doomers’ and ‘defeatists’?
oh, the irony…
Barcafan. Read the post. It is not a criticism of Barca – quite the contrary.
BTW. Barca fan is located in Birmingham ENGLAND, which says all you need to know about him. Surprised he isn’t a CHelsea fan this season, an MU fan the season before. and of course, an Arsenal fan in 2004.
Barca fan
Forlan scored shitloads in Spain but was cack in England. You’d be out of the CL but for a dodgy dago loving ref.
Suga. Once again we disagree.
On AA, we do not use the term AKB. It is derogatory and stifles debate.
And perhaps I am being thick, but where is the irony?
^^
Haha, I been supporting Barca since i was a child.
gm,
I think you will find that Usmanov parted ways with Dein to get in the other shareholders’ good books, it’s not like Dein walked away from him out of disgust or other moral doubts nonsense…
as for Usmanov taking firm action against the ones accusing him, well, sorry mate, but if you are a multi-billionaire businessman, then you will not have that, whether it’s true or not!
RvP is just a footballer, brilliant one, but just a footballer nevertheless and the club hushed that slapper too, no?
Forlan is better than all of your striker. You know he is
SUGA aren’t you on the wrong blog? Not that I don’t want you but don’t you think calling anyone who thinks a certain way AKBs is just a tiny bit ironic too?
Big Raddy,
the irony is that the statement made by Our Glorious Leader is as defeatist as it gets!
and oh, if the term ‘AKB’ is derogatory, then surely the term ‘doomer’ is derogatory too?
is it me or is it double standards?
I see Wengers comments have caused a stir.
And now Cesc has tweeted the following:
“In this life you don’t get judged by your words, you get judged by your actions. Fact!”
Now for me that’s a supportive comment for Wenger, I think Arsenes comments may be an attempt to lose the shackles and maybe relieve some pressure. But they are definitely coming in for stinging criticism.
Or maybe Fab is saying that Wenger maybe saying that in front of the camera is doing something different behind closed doors.
Maybe his comment is nothing to do with it.
goonermichael,
not, it’s just simplistic…
barca fan
He used to score how many goals a season in the premier league?
GIE,
OGL’s actions as far as the football side of things are concerned are not something to write home about either…
he just said he is ready to sign up for another 20 years – judge me in May 2031? or is it 2033, given that he still has a few years left on his current contract?
good job that Mayan calendar ends in 2012 then! 😆
When did the club hush the slapper?
Have you read any of the stuff about Usmanov? Has he successfully sued the British consul who brought up the allegations?
BarcaFan. …. Was????
SUGA. Did I say that “doomer” was not derogatory? If you are to accuse me of double standards – which I find highly offensive – be correct. As a founder member, I was just pointing out the rules of AA – Discussion without recourse to abuse.
And No. I don’t find AW’s comments to be defeatist. He is being realistic if one looks at our results over the past few seasons v MU.
And having just listened to more of the interview the amount of quotes taken out of context are a joke!
I’m getting Deja vu
Brilliant weekend of sport ahead. For once I am delighted the weather here is crap.
Masters, PL, F1 Grand National. Lovely
Is it the food GM?
Possibly BR. I just ate some amazing deep fried fish heads in what I can only describe as a home style restaurant. 🙂
I’ll have to go to bed soon I start work in 6 hours
Big Raddy,
I would like to respectfully point out that no one brought the person using the term ‘doomer’ to order last night…
and I am not abusing anyone – is ‘Arsene Knows Best Brigade’ acceptable then? or should I just use the GHF/GHE (i.e. Glass Half Full/Empty) terms? tell me, I will adhere to this, as the debate is more than decent on here 😉
and say what you wish, but in my book it IS defeatist – if you care about winning stuff more than about the average age of your team you will not dare to say stuff like that…
and to blame the Barca defeat on ‘unbelievable decisions’? I mean, do me a favour!
After Tuesday Mourinho said
“the tie is not over, I know English football”
Defeatist/Realist?
Hi all
Sorry I’ve been enjoying the sunshine and not blogging. Bad huh 😦 We are without a post for tomorrow if anyone has a snippet they want to headline with ……
goonermichael,
Winston Churchill once said he would ally with the horned one himself to defeat the dude with the little ‘tache…
end justifying the means and all that…
as for not taking the dividends, ever heard of the unspecified ‘other costs’ in the balance sheets? it’s not like it’s peanuts, you know…
GIE,
common courtesy, not to piss them potatoes off…
Suga. To be clear. No-one has the right to tell anyone how to write on AA, but the use of AKB is shunned. What it does is group together fans who may have vastly different viewpoints and because of the negativity attached to the term (thanks to our friends at LG) it causes offence.
What you will find on AA are many self confessed AW fans who believe he is open to criticism, I happen to be one of them.
Can anyone doubt that the RVP sending off was “an unbelievable decision”? Whether we would have gone on to win is a moot point.
BR,
Pep summed it up perfectly: we did not exist and could not string three passes together!
they say one should clean his own backyard before going out to save the world, you know?
Peaches. How about giving Rasp a nudge 😉
Suga 🙂
You are right!
BR,
I know I am! 😆
I just think if AW spent the time he uses on thinking about the next subject to whinge about to think about how to improve the squad so that he would not need to congratulate ManYoo for being ‘better’, we would be Champions of the Universe!
I mena, first things first!
and are they better? the ‘fact’ that the worst ManYoo team for as long as I care to remember will win the league is nothing short of a disgrace!
Cesc’s tweet (now removed):
“In this life, you dont get judged by your words, you get judged by your actions. Fact!”
SUGA I was referring to your second sentence. And it clear that you know you are right 😉
Whatever one says about MU this season this is proof that SAF is the best manager in the World and probably the best ever …. (my keyboard just slapped me!)
Pep?
First time we got the ball in their half we got a corner and they put it in their own net. Next attack a marginal offside decision stopped RVP being through. If he hadn’t been sent off would he have got through again? Probably. If he’d still been on and the ball had gone through to him in the last few minutes instead of Bendtner would he have put it away? Possibly. Would they have scored 2 more goals if we’d kept 11 on the pitch? probably but not definitely. In 2 of the 4 recent games we played against them we scored 2 goals in the last 20 minutes. If Robin had stayed on it may have ended differently despite it being so easy to point to the obvious stats. If bendy had put the ball away they would have been out.
BR. The mancs have had some outrageous help from refs this season even taking into account the chav and liverpool decisions.
goonermichael,
I love you dude, but there is a lot of ‘ifs’, ‘probablies’ and ‘possiblies’ in there…
if one’s auntie had a cock…
BR,
I figured as much and the rest of my post was the logical continuation of the thought 😉
SUGA
What I’m pointing out is that we’ll never know. It was quite humiliating but how many times have we dominated teams and lost? I think it’s disgraceful that a shit manc side will probably win the league. I’m sure I’d be even more sick if I was a chav with a billionaire owner who’s just pissed 50m on a striker who hasn’t scored yet.
Actually I didn’t think the catalans would score until cesc did that back heel.
Gm @4.33 I said the same yesterday… some people speak and don’t listen…
Peaches- I’m lacking inspiration on the post front but I did send an email last week re my sponsored skydive thing- not sure if you read it but could you let me know what you think? 🙂
oh, now that you mention it: allowing him to retain the armband was nothing short of disgrace…
spineless!
I’m off now
See you all later
And GM- totally agree with your assessment of the Barca tie- I have excellent memories of Sampdoria and Parma in our CWC run when we had less than 40% of possession and won by holding firm and nicking a goal. That Barca game had the same feeling to me until the red card…
Nice post Micky. Power and intensity indeed. 🙂
Btw, nobody used the term ‘doomer’ last night. I used the term doom-monger which was entirely in keeping with GIE’s excellent post re negativity affecting the general air around the club. Apologies if anybody thought I was referring to them.
Carlito,
whatever happened to diversity of opinions and sense of humour then?
and for someone to listen the other side of the convo needs to say something first, you know?
Suga3- I feel obliged to react to that last comment @5.42 and so much of the rest of your activity over the past 24hrs.
We usually have civilized discussions peppered with humour on this site. You have an aggressive style which is the equivalent of talking over other people and speaking more loudly than others. I like debate but it only works when there is movement to understand each other’s viewpoints and remain phlegmatic in the main. Your de facto position seems to me to be reactive, provocative and relentless and it is very wearying. None of us comes here for a scrap. Sorry to come on here and be so critical but someone needs to break this to you…
as for the Barca game: yes, the decision to send RvP off was questionable, I don’t have the problem with that…
what I do have a problem with is:
– OGL being so adamant that we would have won with 11 on the pitch
– RvP giving the ref an excuse to send him off, despite it being clear that he had an agenda against us: unprofessional or what?
provocative? seriously mate, check out my convo with Harry, we got along fine 😉
and what I am doing is putting forward a logical argument, you are more than welcome to present a counter-argument to make me hold my hands up (and believe me, I am more than capable of doing that) and admit that I’m wrong outright…
scrap? please, I am more than old enough not to have any business in getting involved in any, let alone provoke them…
Chas/ Micky- wouldn’t it be lovely if at some stage in the near future we could put “Thrust, Power and Intensity” under the ArsenalArsenal banner like Rasp did with Harry’s call to arms?
Hi SUGA3,
if you were to compare blogs to political parties we are neither far right or far left and in fact don’t like labels or people refering to our manager or players as c****.
I am not suggesting that you do any of these things but we have built up a good reputation in just over a year and welcome all as long as courtesy is maintained.
Hi Guys, 🙂
Excellent Post Mickey, and totally understandable and logical conclusions.
Just read thru yesterday evening’s comments and also some of today’s. Not too impressed with the point scoring, and the stultifyingly boring character assassination of Wenger and half the team.
Had to double check I was still on AA!
RA,
are you on night shift tonight 😉 Hope you clocked in.
fair enough…
take care, you lot!
Hi Kelsey, 🙂
I won’t be around if the level of the supposed ‘debate’ is to simply press the ‘transmit button’ and shout down everyone else.
Succsess is coming second .next season it will be to finish in the top four.so when you buy your season tickets for next season don’t expect any silver wear. Get used to no silver wear until the rules change in 2013 when arsenal hope they will be able to compete without spending money.
MickeyK,
I have great news for you. Suga3 has his own website and I think, with your views, you would be sooooooo happy on it.
Give it a go, go, go. Oops did I say go?
Been out in the sunshine RA? I’ve missed your comments 🙂
http://bit.ly/fdu6Un
Hi Blue Eyes, 🙂
Knew you would like ‘thrust, power, intensity’! 🙂
Great news that the lovely, libidinous lawyer has been regurgitated!
And there I was worrying my socks off with jealousy!! 🙂
Mostly catching up with work Carlito. I have managed to do bugger all for so long.
I tried working on the patio, which just fortuitously happened to be sunny. But could not see my screen so did sod all.
[Fortunately, you cannot see my glowing red nose!] 🙂
RA your 6.29 was the punchline I needed! Chas- what ARE you up to putting pics of Brittany up? Thinking of a new avatar? 😉
Hi Chas 🙂
My security system would not let me connect.
What were you wanting us to see? Not Micky in the all together I hope! 🙂
and you consider yourselves ‘moderate’, do you?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_personam
See the problem there RA is you have failed to use the laptop for it’s proper purpose when on a patio and the sun is shining. In those circumstances the laptop should be employed as a parasol!
I have been off here for most of the day as a one person dominated thread is not enjoyable.
Sorry for the part I played last night in the he said/she said debate.
Peaches I have abides for a post but not the time or qualifications to write it…..psycho analysis of Wengers press statements today. Perhaps some of the people who have trodden the path of Management/Leadership courses could find hidden gens for us.
Either that or we could just put up an “At the beach sign”. Or a look at our two contestants for PFA honours.
Brittany, haha….was meant to be ‘silver wear’, apologies for the limp joke.
“Abides” is clearly “an idea”
Haha Chas now we know what your up to have you got anymore pic based puzzles for us.
Nowt like a game of catchphrase.
Also maybe people missed my post last night
for an AA Jolly Boys (&Girls) outing to the Brittania Stadium on 8th May. Think the lads will need us one way or other.
Gie- won’t be able to do that one to Stoke- struggling to get the funds together for next season ticket as it is! I like the catchphrase chas! Got anymore? 🙂
Oh Red Arse – where have you been all day?
Blue Eyes – put a fiver from me for your dive
Big Raddy – hiya, how are you? Is it sunny in Copenhagen? Glorious weather here! I took my bike out and was almost killed, by my own librarian! How uncool would that be?
Maciek – in your opinion – do we still have a chance to win the league this season?
I have just heard Wenger’s interview in full, and as usual bits have been taken out of context. He is adamant that we will try and win the league full stop.
Oh sorry, hello Evonne.
Hi Evonne, oh delectable one! 🙂
I would have been on earlier to help my friends, if I had known the way things were going! 🙂 Not that they needed help, of course.
Love debate; love argument; hate quarrels.
Just as well really, I would have come across as an appalling, angry, intellectual snob, and the Rasper would have binned me!! 🙂
Not that I am in any way intellectual. Doh! 😦
Kelsey- that is good to hear! There’s been a right stir online since the presser but I haven’t seen it myself. Sounded to me from the quotes I’ve seen that he might have been trying to take the pressure off the players which seems wise as there seems to be a collective lack of confidence in the team. Would you see it that way too?
Just as I am back to engage in Arsenal discourse, the bell has rung and I am summoned to a pub quiz night.
I tried to argue I am not able to get about too well, but they have arranged a door to door ‘coolie’ service.
Tricky coves these british quizzers, very cunning! 🙂
Tomorrow guys! 🙂
Evening all, great article micky, agreed we lack thrust and yeah without messi, barca would be down a level, he truly is an outstanding talent, the ball is glued to his feet at times….
On the discussion on balance, read previous comments / articles here and elsewhere, it is one of my biggest gripes with wenger, he so often sends out unbalanced sides, too regularly to be honest, I think.
On formations etc, we do have the players to play all of the formations, 4-3-3, 4-5-1 and 4-4-2 and to be honest at that level no team should really have an issue with adjusting even mid game, althought obviously fluidity of play can be affected by the level of talent at ones disposal.
At the moment the teams confidence is at a very low ebb, movement is stifled and they are playing with an element of fear, holding them from the thrust.
Players are not been played as usual in their favored position, Arshavin through the middle in the support role behind chamakh or bendtner would give thrust, Van persie on the right and Walcott or nasri on the left. Stick Fabregas and Wilshere in the middle. Against the Arriva Bus companies best 11 we would create a lot more. Then when we ra eplaying the physical teams, song and frimpong would get a role…..
All I would buy in the summer would be a real fighter with experience, someone who would play say 10-15 games from the start and the rest as required from the bench.
I had a text today from a friend who has links to anfield, pepe reina has cancelled all schooling for his kids next year……..???
back in an hour or so for a debate on what wengers said today….
As expected really Kelsey but we wouldn’t expect the media to let a whole quote/context get in the way of a good story would we?
Some really interesting quotes on club website.
Anyone see Fergies comments re Lee Mason? Like he needed some encouragement to punish us on the weekend.
http://bit.ly/hk06Qn
http://bit.ly/dmmPs
wenger is definitely under pressure more so by the media than a minority of the fans and it shows in his face.
the reina speculation is still being muted over here, but i just can’t see us buying him at 20 million and if we did apart from almunia going could we keep both fab and chesney happy and then there is manone.
Chas!! 😀 you’ve got me laughing like ricky gervaise at karl pilkington! Priceless!
Evonne,
I don’t know whether you were responding to Maciek (can’t see his post) or just assuming I was LG’s Maciek (I am not, since I know your name is Iwona, I will introduce myself: it’s Wojtek) – I don’t think ManYoo will let it out of their grasp right now…
given the situation, I would rather concentrate on damage limitation: we don’t play a single ‘easy’ game (mind you, not a single game is one, hence the quotes) between now and the end of the season and the table does not look too encouraging and I would rather look over my shoulder than upwards…
We won’t win the league we will come third
Wojtek – yes, I thought you were Maciek whom Sarky Sharkey chats to sometimes.
Yes, I agree it is going to be tricky and unfortunately out of our hands, but who knows? I actually have a good feeling about it
Red Arse – ‘they’ told you a lot about me, except for the fact that I am old and ill! Old women are not delectable 🙂
Kelsey – did you listen to the debate on the Talk Sport radio? I think they had GIE and 26may writting the scripts 🙂
Harry – we need a post for tomorrow, have you got time to drum up something for us?
Peaches – Barca Fan was mouthing again today! I’m such a grass 🙂
Hi Evonne – just whizzed through he comments and saw his name pop up 😦
Hry Mickey, top quality.
Absolute pleasure to meet you on Sat gone, and niw nice to read your posts with a face to the author.
Thrust. Forever regarded as ‘(tm)Mickey’ to me !!
Evening all,
Sincere apologies for my absence from the site. I too have read back through the comments and understand that some of you are not happy with the pattern of debate.
SUGA3 makes some persuasive points but fails to understand what binds us all on this site.
For every ‘fact’ there is a counter argument, for every stat there is another that proves the opposite – its all about opinion. The defining feature of our viewpoint is the desire to believe the best not fear the worst.
Peaches, the ravenhair warrior princess lashes her whip, who will she snare, tremble with fear, as stands aside the forum, a glint in her eye as she hollows, “who will fill their parchment with wise words” as the scrolls of AAare bare…..
I’ll see what the grey matter drums up….check your email in morning…..
Harry, your weak, you gave in too easy……I know..tell me…..
“and what I am doing is putting forward a logical argument, you are more than welcome to present a counter-argument to make me hold my hands up (and believe me, I am more than capable of doing that) and admit that I’m wrong outright…”
Yeah, and pigs fly.
Oh, forgot about swine flew. I’m sorry.
😀
‘A pessimist is an optimist with experience’
you will struggle to find anything more fitting to our situation 😉
and apologies, I might have got carried away…
Rohan,
tsk, tsk, tsk…
OK Rohan and SUGA, you’ve had your fun but are in danger of overstepping the mark. You will see these words in ‘About AA’ at the top of the page……. “Wit is preferable to sarcasm. When a discussion becomes an argument, it is time to agree to differ.”
The ability to respect the fact that someone may hold a different opinion to yours is paramount to healthy debate. No-one on here is seeking to recruit you to their way of thinking. They have offered their response to your comments but you seem to be on some kind of mission to grind people down.
http://www.gunners4life.com/index.asp?article=396
Suga, have a read of this one, lol by my own reckoning, wenger has had his day!!!
In April 2007 I gave him two seasons!!!
Rasp,
with all due respect, I have just written a post to apologise for my earlier behaviour and saw Rohan’s submitted probably seconds earlier…
funnily enough, I have only proven the point I have raised in the one Rohan ripped the piss out of by admitting that I might have got carried away, hence the follow up 😆
Harry,
your vision is indeed superior to mine, as I believed that the team with Hleb and Flam was the nuts 😉
OK SUGA, one thing that has been a revelation for us on this site is the firm friendhsips that have been forged through our shared passion for Arsenal but also surprisingly diverse range of other interests. Several of us have had the pleasure of meeting up before games and this has added a new dimension to our blogging and support for the club.
fair play to you – it’s just me being ‘loud’ and all that, no harm meant and I hope none done 😉
Suga, Cheers…..
Last night I was looking for articles with regards with what we talked about last in raising the fans, i could find the one I was really looking for, I have tonight it was in 2006!! I cannot believe I have been harping on about it for so long……
Anyway I have been whipped by peaches into doing an article for tomorrow, I think its a bit deep and too sigmund freud so need to recheck it…
Suga is alright rasp, he is misunderstood a tad by some, had a great debate last night with him, no issues…
I will definitely tune in tomorrow to have a read!
and you are more than welcome to have a look at mine tomorrow, just finished it 😉
Evening all.
Like the post micky, thanks for that.
If Evonne’s still around, I’d be intrigued to hear what that talkSport debate was about – and whether the idea of my having written the script is a compliment or not!
The players could yet prove us wrong, stranger things have happened (1989), but it seems to me in the summer we’ll be looking back at the 4-4 Newcie game and the League Cup Final as the moments it all began slipping away. We’ve not recovered our mojo since that day at Wembley. Such a shame, a wasted opportunity.
Good moedrating Rasp, well done that man.
26may,
as fat as I am concerned, the full list is:
– WBA home (3 points lost)
– Newcastle home (3 points lost)
– Spuds home (3 points lost)
– aforementioned Newcastle away (2 points lost)
– WBA away (2 points lost in my book)
that’s 13 points, you do the rest of the table maths 😉
arguably, Squillaci 80th minute OG against Wigwam did not help the matters a great deal either, but let’s say that stuff happens, but the above five games are unexcusable…
and also there is a small matter of resting players against Shakhtar away and pathetic performance against Braga away – we have obliterated both these teams at home, what does that tell you?
*far 😆
26. I agree entirely. The second half at St James is etched in my memory so goodness knows how it affected the players and AW.
Oh Suga, you’re like me, you genuinely expect the team to win every game. But they keep telling me even the best team drops points.
Of course we could look at every game we’ve dropped points and say “that was the one” but I’m not on about the arithmetic, it’s the phases in a season that matter. On 1 February, when we beat Everton, it was all looking great, perhaps even you thought “this is it, we’re on the march” (not that you’d admit it now!). But that second half at St James’s looks like it was the cusp between the confident, attacking, exciting Arsenal inspired by Nasri, Fabregas and Wilshere and the insecure, shapeless, lily-livered Arsenal.
Or we could just expect the team to win every single game.
26may,
that’s not my point: every single game listed above was not just a loss or draw, but an embarrassment and, quite frankly, an insult…
here is the list with the my (simplified) reasons:
– WBA home (not turning up for the first half)
– Newcastle home (pathetic performance)
– Spuds home (counting chickens after 45 mins)
– Newcastle away (pathetic implosion)
– WBA away (only played the last 20 minutes)
and I don’t need to tell you who should have done something about it, be it before the game, during halftime or ad hoc during the game, do I?
and there is also last week’s debacle against Blacburn – ridiculous tactics!
15 points and counting, IMO, all down to poor management more than anything else…
I agree that the teams drop points, I have no problem with that, I am not moaning about Wigan (shit happens), not to mention Chelsea and ManYoo away, am I?
You see, Suga, it’s not really what you say I disagree with, it’s your hysterical tone: “an embarrassment and, quite frankly, an insult”? Please, get a grip mate. They were disappointments, but the very special 4-0 to 4-4 aside, for every one of the others, you can find equivalents of each of your other examples for United this season.
And I know you like the Invincibles vintage – well they managed to screw things up too (try managing to throw away the CL QF against Chelsea on for size, we could easily have won the European Cup that year if the players had kept their focus for the last 45 minutes of the tie).
Listing all the dropped points the way you do just doesn’t mean much. Just like banging on about what a shit manager Wenger is.
But other than that, I like your points!
Suga – some of us on here just go to a quiet place when we’re upset with the team and that’s why some have taken your aggressive stance a little too seriously. It can’t be denied that you’re wearing your heart on your sleeve and feel bad about some of the poor results.
We’ve had more than enough opportunities to gain ground on Manu and have sadly failed so far, if we win our next 8 eight games and manu only drop points against us we’ll finish 1 point behind them …… so frustrating.
26may,
the difference is: ManYoo have the worst team for as long as I care to remember, whereas we have the best team in the league – and I am saying it with a straight face!
so, we can only respectfully disagree here, or we will be at it all night 😉
peaches,
when I heard Our Glorious Leader today, I simply blew my top, honestly…
have a read tomorrow 😉
Arsenal!
Look forward to it 😉
aha Suga, therefore, our articles will be on a similar subject but will come from our different standpoints me thinks, shall be interesting…..
Peaches article is now in your mail box, can you give me longer next time!!
Longer …… must give Harry longer next time 😉
Thanks Harry, you’re a star xx
Going back on today’s debates I just noticed that Rocky’s fine list of mini-marvels from Footyworld included not only Messi, Owen, Wright etc but Hristo Stoichkov. He was no Peter Crouch but at 5’10”, he’s no littl’un either.
Pedant, moi?
Other potent titches: Alan Ball, Pat Nevin, Ossie Ardiles, Gianfranco Zola, Juninho, Roberto Carlos, Carlos Tevez and our very own Andrei “He’s five foot four” Arshavin.
You see Suga, we actually agree on a lot: “the difference is: ManYoo have the worst team for as long as I care to remember, whereas we have the best team in the league – and I am saying it with a straight face!” Absolutely, on the button, 100%.
And as you know from our tete-a-tete yesterday, my view is the reason we are less than the sum of parts and United are more than the sum of theirs is to be found in the players’ heads. They have failed to turn up at the crucial point in the season, and have let down themselves, us and yes, Wenger.
Am just watching Liam Gallagher’s latest offering with this Beady Eye nonsense. What a load of crap, that really is an embarrassment and an insult.
Harry ….. A star? Teachers Pet 😉
Look forward to the read Harry did you get a full transcript of press conference or are we only able to see piecemeal what the press want to report?
Great to have you back 26! I second your compliments for Rasp’s comments/moderation. Top notch 🙂
Cheers Carlito! Just needed some distance from the Arse after a period of depression. Plus Evonne locked me in a cellar…..
An interesting point re United’s weekend oppo, Fulham. It might look like the christians and the lions, with our west London friends heading to the Toilet on Saturday. But Fulham have been surprisingly resilient on the road this season, having avoided away defeat more often than any side outside the top five plus Everton. Perhaps there’s hope yet…. Or not!
Beady Eye- could not agree more. Painfully poor- an insult to music and music lovers. Can’t stand L gallagher- the worse live singer I’ve seen in the last 5 years.
Hope fulham can do it at The Theatre of Dross but my feeling is the Ferguson alumni always roll over when it comes to the crunch. ManU dropping points is a certainty at some point though so what’s needed is a rebirth of hope against Blackpool. With JD coming back for the Liverpool game, if confidence can be instilled at the seaside everything is still to play for…
To nick a line from Tuesday Club podcast….
hand me that straw 26 I’m ready to clutch it
If it was at the Cottage I might be backing Fulham to put a surprise result in. As it is we will have to wait for Chelsea to go to OT our result against them at home and perhaps we will need Spurs to still do us a favour when their game is rearranged.
However most importantly the PL is effectively out of our hands and we need to find our game again. Hopefully Blackpool should approach the game in their usual attacking style which should make for a very entertaining Saturday afternoon.
Teachers pet, lol…..
Not the full transcript, I have used snips though, didnt get long, threw it together a tad, hope it works and you all understand…I am sure I will be in for an english lesson from my friends as usual….lol
Morning all,
Grand National today! Tony McCoy (Gunner) riding Don’t Push It, shall I put all my money on him?
Won’t be from me Harry.
My brother backed McCoy every year except last year…..haha
I will do my normal stick a few pins. Although as I no longer buy a newspaper my laptop screen could be a bit of a mess.
26may – the Talk Sport debate was very much along the same lines we see discussed here day in day out – whose fault, shall AW go, do fans expect too much, etc. And one of the commentators was defending the Club very much like you and GIE often do on this blog. There was a lot of talk that the promotion to CL of the first 4 teams had derogatory effect on EPL with teams fighting to get into the first 4. Some idiotic phone calls from fans, especially those wearing our badge, were quickly disconnected 🙂
GIE – ha ha ha, don’t damage your laptop, we need you here! It was a true challenge with obstinate Suga!
The feature I like the most about twitter is that you can stop following people whose comments get on your doo-dahs. 🙂
Chas – very true, and not just the comments, stupid unrelated video clips and pictures too 🙂
Chas I was thinking the same thing this morning 🙂
An enforced filter is better than my own mental filter…
Sorry about those ‘unrelated’ pictures from me yesterday evening, Evonne. 🙂 Did you get the answers?
Romario, Cannavaro, George Best, Liam Brady, Johny Giles, Shay Given, Overmars,
Grand National. Each way punt on BallaBriggs for me.
BR,
Beach Boys.
Shay Given, very funny!
Franco Baresi was another small centre back. What a player he was.
Morning all,
I do feel bad not turning up on my own post day. Very slack.
BR – ok, will do
Denis Wise ?
26,
When you say “cellar”, do you mean “dungeon”?
Micky – please don’t start!! Looking forward to reading your post 🙂
Right Micky. I guess you have to be our age 🙂
Oh come off it BR, I just happen to live in Surfing Safari Country.
I’m sure you were enjoying the beach Micky 🙂
Actually, nothing captures the spirit of summer quite like The BEach Boys, surf boards, a deserted beach and a VW Camper Van 🙂
GiE,
The northern most beaches of Cornwall are superb. No tourists.
Micky, It is one of my all time faves and whenever I hear it my body goes aquiver.
One of the best gigs I have ever seen was the Beach Boys in the early *80’s. They played Wembley Arena and I had a very good seat (still do!). They came on stage and said “Everyone has to Stand Up and get ready to spend 2 hours dancing”, then kicked into the opening chords of I Get Around. It was one of the best parties I have ever attended.
If you want to get the Summer feeling listen to Ventura Highway by America, or alternatively pop over to my house and walk with me down to the beach 🙂
I saw them too BR in their Sheffield Wednesday tops at croydon, and when Carl sang God only Knows it was mind boggling.
Sounds great, I love VW Camper Vans. Took one around NZ and Aus. a few years ago.
During my formative years (punk) anything American was a no no, especially that happy preppy Californian thing, but The Beach Boys were always my secret bit on the side!
Kelsey- No No No. It has to be Sister Golden Hair. And is that an invitation?
Have you noticed all the old rock stars either still have long hair and a mullet or always wear a cap/hat because they are bald.
Always looking for a freebie BR 😉 yes after we win the CL
Micky. I grew up through the Beatles, Hollies etc but they and the Stones introduced us to the very best of Yank music – R&B, Motown and the Blues.
Strange to think that it took the Brits to re-intrduce Black US music back to the Americans.
Just listening to Angel by Jimi Hendrix on the radio. Fantastic.
It was the PL last time Kelsey! You have raised the bar….
The Eagles at Wembley takes some beating, about 1976, and they brought on The Royal Philomonic (sp) orchestra just for one number.
Kelsey,
We are ALL leaving shortly. Should be with you by 1:00’ish.
Fire up the Barbie
Joking apart, if feasable we could have a reunion over here, a long weekend as it is unlikely i will be over in England.
Kelsey,
What’s with the “could have”? You have four hours. If I were you, I would be boogeying on down to the Offy as we speak. We all like them chilled!
Maybe Mallaga away in the Europa
Jeepers. I am in moderation. Red carded? Its dark and lonely in here. Let me out.
Europa??? Don’t “doom” on us BR, we are AKB’s 🙂
Ooops, definately not Politically Correct that one!
I bet you agree with Fox Hunting, private nursing and reducing Govt support for education
sentimental gits 🙂 Get a grip boys, another big day tomorrow!
I didn’t hear AW’s interview yesterday. I have heard it was very emotional. What did he say?
Big fan of private nursing. Used to enjoy hunting foxes, and the less government involvement in education, the better. So yes to all three 🙂
AW’s interview? Can we hear it anywhere?
Strange question, but it came up last night with a chum. Who would you rather beat Utd/Chavs in the Wembley CL Final, Barca or Real?
Funnily enough the same family that bought city have bought malaga, but they are still in the bottom three.
Morning all
New Post
