Today we go to Hull, the home of Rugby League and fake tans. Hull City lie second from bottom of the Premiership with 24 points. They are above the hapless Portsmouth, but a long way short of the 40 points required for safety with only 9 games left to play. In addition, we meet them on the back of a heavy 5-1 defeat at Goodison Park. It seems unlikely that they will get anywhere near that target and so I expect this to be our last visit to the KC Stadium in the premiership. I make no bones about it – I detest everything about Phil Brown and all he stands for. I wish them all the best in The Championship, hopefully never to be seen again.
The stats would point to a routine victory:-
Hull have only won 5 games at Home this season and have only scored 18 goals in the process – the second lowest in the league, while Arsenal are the leading joint scorers with 28 goals away from home. In their last two Home games, Hull have somehow beaten Manchester City and drawn with Chelsea. Seems simple, but as the saying goes “There are no easy games in the Premier league”. We are on a roll and I fully expect all three points.
Who will play is quite another matter? The squad is ravaged by injuries – what’s new? We know that Gallas and Cesc are out, and at the time of writing there are doubts over Sol, Rosicky and Sagna. Bendtner had better watch where he spits out his chewing gum; otherwise Brown may decide to trump up another charge against us with the F.A.
It would be nice to see Vermaelen take the armband as I am no lover of keeper’s having that privilege, and besides,he was captain of Ajax and has the authority to muster the lads in the same way TA6 once did.
This is how the teams could line up…..
Maybe Sagna will be fit and Eboue can offer us another option in mid-field or Rosicky will be fit and we won’t see Denilson. Either way lets hope the aggression and spirit brought on by Ramsey’s injury still burns within the team. We only have to score one more than them.
There is not much more to say about a team like Hull. Reports of an ‘unsavoury’ incident believed to be a fight between Nicky Barnby and Jimmy Bullard whilst on a ‘warm down’ last Sunday will have caused a titter. The fracas was witnessed by a group of shocked ladies from the WI who were attending a rally. What excellent role models? Their manager must be so proud.
There has been considerable animosity between Tangoman and our Leader. One is a charming urbane, intelligent man who has brought English football almost single handedly into the modern era, and the other is a shallow poser who buys his suits at Lidl, propounds the neanderthal football ethic, and is an acolyte of Sam “The Walrus” Allardyce. Phil Brown has disrespected our Captain, our Manager, our fans and our club. Arsène – show him who the Daddy is.

Arsenal News 24/7

Morning all, and a special good morning to ‘Goonerella’ our phantom blogger!
Rip Roaring first post kelsey 😛
It is essential we keep up the momentum and put the northern bullies in their place. I think the refs will be quicker to punish dangerous tackles when we are playing following Ramsey’s injury.
Morning all
Like you kelsey, I’m looking forward to Hull and the Tangoman going down. Good post and great graphics rasp.
We’re a bit lightweight in mid-field for todays game aren’t we but we do have our own Tiger in Theo – hope they’ve been starving him all week 😉
Morning all
Excellent post Kelsey, really enjoyed it.
Shevo – thanks for your comment this morning on yesterdays post – hope you pop back for a chat.
Not entirely my own work, but thanks all the same.
We might just see Eastmond start today.
Morning London,
Definitely not, it is an oversight that I have corrected.
Fine post Kelsey. An enjoyable read.
Interesting that Hull have only scored 15 at home this season. What is the betting they add to that today?
Such a shame Cesc isn’t playing – he must be itching for revenge and the chances are he will never play Hull again. Which brings me to a point Kelsey made earlier.
Balloon payments for the relegated teams. Why? A golden handshake for failure
But I guess Portsmouth have used the money as leverage in their battle against bankruptcy!
I don’t like these 5.30 kick off’s. They play havoc with my Saturday nights as CET is an hour ahead and the games finish at 8.30.
Mrs Raddy is not best pleased……
Morning BR
What is the correct name for the payments teams receive when they are relegated? I think it is parachute payments but I am not sure.
You are so polite London 😉
How was the flamenco?
It is ‘parachute payments’. At first I thought it was madness, but I can see the sense of it. Without them, no team that came up would be able to invest in better players to give them a chance of staying up, and if they did but still got relegated, they could go out of business. The main reason is the disparity in earnings potential between the prem and championship.
So give it to the teams coming up – then they can tailor their cloth….
It gives an unfair advantage to those teams when they return to the Championship, especially if like Wolves and Hull, they don’t go buying mad.
Good point Raddy, but would teams be sensible and save the money or just blow it on new players wages any way? – most manager’s aren’t as careful with the finances as ‘le parsimonious one’
BR
The flamenco was an enjoyable cultural night out but I must admit I am more excited about today’s drama.
Joking aside, it was fantastic, a lady called Sara Baras, if she is playing in Copenhagen I recommend it for you and Mrs Raddy.
This article is the biggest load of shite I’ve ever read. Routine win? Hull have lost Three times at home all season. I expect you to win but not routinely, it will be tight. And as for “One is a charming urbane, intelligent man who has brought English football almost single handedly into the modern era” by moaning? He’s the best in the transfer Market but think you went a bit far with that statement. And talking about respect is that what Nasri did walking on Fagans foot? (i admit he probably deserved it.
Jadders
Welcome aboard, we hope you come back about 7.30
Jadders. May I respectfully suggest that you extend your reading if today’s post is “the biggest load of shite” you have ever read.
Morning Jadders,
There’s an awful lot more shite than that out there I can assure you. Maybe you should consider that at this particularly sensitive time, fans want to get behind the team and even though we may be deluding ourselves a little, we want the positive attitude to transmit to the team from all levels.
Big Raddy
Maybe I’m capable of exaggerating as well :-p but you get the point.
Personally, I thought Kelsey was quite understated in his appreciation of Wenger.
Top job Kelsey, Fine Analysis. well done
This game worries me, Hull are in the last chance saloon and that bloody cowboy “Dinosaur Brown”, will be telling his journeymen pro’s to kick there way out.
More injuries we don’t need’
Lets hope I am wrong and we cruise it on a festival of football, would be nice.
I haven’t read anything in ages that has made me laugh out loud on a blog but you have just done it BR….”my I respectfully suggest you extend your reading”….hilarious
As I was by the Vodpod I thought I’d have another look at the Nasri goal from the other night and its been stolen again!!!!!!!!
and phil brown dont moan dont rant and done what for the prem? I have met Mr Wenger and he is charming unlike tangohead, funny how teams dont like it up em,oh sorry thought it was only Arsenal
Cesc has missed the last 3 or 4 games against Hull for various reasons.
With regards to the parachute payment, the real problem is that the players are on long term contracts and if relegated the clubs are left with a huge wage bill which cannot be sustained in the championship.
Jadders: the key to your post is “I expect you to win but not routinely, it will be tight “. I presume you are not an Arsenal supporter from that remark.
We welcome all diverse opinions on here from all and sundry but politeness is regarded as being a main ingedient.
Interesting point about Nasri’s sleight of foot.
I guess it is the Gallic answer to “they don’t like it up ’em”. But did you see the response from the recipient – he looked as though he had been tasered!
Morning ros – good point, the Tangoed one has also done his fair share of moaning
Morning ros,
Yes, I spoken to several people who have met Arsène and they all say the same thing. I once got his autograph (for my son of course 😳 ) and he was charming. What you see is what you get with Arsène – unfortunately the same is true of Phil Brown.
Out of interest why are peaches, raddy and rasputin’s names highlighted in Blue ?
With regards to Nasri, he has been exceptional in the last two games both at home, I hope to see the same influence today AWAY, as he tends to give his best performances at the Emirates.
To make them seem more important Kelsey……we should have ours in red 😉
Where’ve you been we’ve been blue for weeks 🙂 Would you like to be blue too? Maybe I can do it for you – stay there……….
Quite right London, red it is. 😉
London,
something has been bugging me for ages. Was your avartar originally with the name London and then changed to Arsenal or am I imaging it.
Morning DanDan
I think as you say it is fairly predictable that Hull are going to try and kick themselves out of trouble and also as you say injuries we can do without. Conisdering that Fabregas would be target number one, it wouldn’t suprise me to find out in a few days time that he could have played but Wenger decided not to take the chance.
I’ve made you blue in your last comment but you probably have to change it in your profile – go to near the bottom of the page and add http://www.arsenalarsenal.wordpress.com where it says website and then you’re linked to here.
When you post on other sites if someone clicks on your name it will bring them to here – simples 😉
I have been blue for months peaches 😉
What was that saying. What is black and white but red all over.
Haha,
If you lot logged into wordpress when you blog and linked your name to the site (or any site of your choosing) you’d be blue too – red is not an option.
Sorry, I don’t know how to make it red 😦
A zebra at the abattoir?
Kelsey
It has always been Arsenal. I am amazed that I have been able to keep it exclusively for as long as I have.
peaches, that was my idea.
It is a fair point about Hull being no walk over, but this is a big game for us, and the players have to be steadfast in their response to what will be a physical battle.
I watched the Everton/Hull game (yes I know……) and Hull were so awful that they will be on top of their game today – Brown will have made it clear to his players that another such perormance will result in sackings.
We are once again away after a CL game (albeit at home), and our record is not great. Hull welcome back Bullard who is a big player for them, and in Geovanni they have a Brazilian who has played at both Barca and Benfica – he may not play well for 90 minutes, but he is capable of threatening us, especially from set plays.
As Kelsey says, Hull have been in fine home form of late. Taking points of the Chavs & MC.
We will do well to return home with 3 points – this will be no easy victory – unless – we score early. If we do then Hull will be forced to be more expansive and we will kill them on the break.
Let’s hope Nik has his scoring boots on today.
Not sure Bullard will start, having been out for a while. He is a key player and might be on the bench or saved for games Hull feel are more winable.
Good Post Kels, i agree with your team too, hope it is routine tonight ive had enough nail biters for one season…
And my five year old for the first time has asked to watch arsenal with me tonight (this hasnt happened before), so a good win would be really nice and a new gooner may sprout his Arsenal Wings.
London. I have the original LT Arsenal sign in my home. I bribed an LT worker to give it to me when they changed to the flat signs in the 80’s. It is made of copper and enamel, and I have bequethed it to my Spurs loving nephew.
It is the only reason I am looking forward to meeting the Grim Reaper. Now that makes me laugh 🙂
So now you are also a thief BR.;)
One wonders does RADDY have a macabre sense of humour LOL
I think BR stands for British Rail.
I paid good money for it Kelsey – just not to the people who owned it!!
Dandan. The best jokes are those one doesn’t see the results of. I can already imagine his dilemna…
BTW – my nephew called his first born Glenn Paul 🙂
You are on enaughty man Raddy LOL.
What was the name of the horse a poster was tipping to be the toast of Cheltenham next week anyone remember.
Kauto Star to beat Denman in the Gold Cup, dandan.
Stringfellow Hawke is the horses man on here.He will know better.
Off to the beach, laters everyone.
SH tipped it DanDan. I think it was on Weds. It was running in the Arkle and was 7-1.
Sizing Europe.
….. off to the beach…..
He would get hypothermia if he tried that here today. Jealous moi… ?
Sizing Europe has had an injury and has missed his prep for The Arkle, but who knows.
BR 21 degrees today, after 3 months of rain. A little light lunch on the beach, a siesta and then the game. perfect.
A two syllable swear word comes to mind Kelsey!
The beach……….. how I long for a beach, mind you at least its a little spring-like here today – I’m whispering that so don’t make a discussion about it please.
Any sight of spring where you are Raddy?
I agree about this being a difficult game, the others have struggled to come away from Hull with points but we are kind of on a roll aren’t we? Saying that, I have this game down as a draw in my predictions.
kelsey – I notice you’re blue 🙂 you can now whore yourself around like the rest of us 😆
There is method in my madness, peaches. ta,ta.
Stephen Hunt, (I’ll ignore the obvious but totally appropriate rhyme) is my most hated player in the prem – even behind DB – that’s bentley not Bergie, how fitting that he plays for Hull?
There’s loads of time for a Ranting Rasputin special on Stephen Hunt – the floor is all yours
Hunt is an annoying little man – he will find his true level in the Championship.
Championship? How stupid is that? It is the Second Division. We need a return to calling a spade a spade. The Premiership is the First Division.
The Champions League is clearly a misnomer, it should be re-branded. Maybe the Nike Cup or The Gravy Train Cup.
This isn’t the ramblings of an old man (well, it probably is!), it is asking for a return to simple and understandable language
Peaches what was that great live stream you sent me last week forgot to save it. was it this one
myp2p.eu football on line
It was livefooty DD
ooops No it wasn’t . I can’t remember. Where is Peaches when we need her? Probably playing with flowers!
LOL thanks Raddy
Its http://www.liveonlinefooty.com
I thought once you used it you had an icon on your desk-top to run the software………
Hi dandan – there you are and there you are 🙂
Are you stil there dandan – I notice you’re using a different email address today – I was going to try again and set you up on wordpress with your avatar. Can I use todays email or would you rather I used the other one?
Morning gang
well remembered BR, the hoss in question is certainly Sizing Europe.
kelsey – “they” are punting the hoss, he missed the prep run, but goes very well fresh, and has something that is a huge asset for this race…
he flys up the cheltenham hill!!
9/10 horses fail on that and get done.
As usual you are right Peaches thank you, I hadnt noticed it
btw – the arkle trophy is the 2nd race on the card.. on the opening day of the festival, namely tuesday.
use the one I have been sending you Peaches please
Got to go Grand children place is in uproar LOL
I doubt if it will be routine but we must win it to keep up any thoughts of us being dark horses for the title.
Bullard wil put it about as will Hunt, the orange one will rant and rave but lets hope we are back down the motorway with the points while he still moaning.
Whoever plays in Song’s position will have to be on his game, I would give EE a go there as he showed recently in a cameo role there recently, he can do it if he can hold his discipline!
I have been thinking about the title and realise how you just managed to shy away from the tempting Let’s make tigers extinct.
benwell, not sure this is the stage of the season to be testing players in new positions…
denilson will certainly step into the role of DM.. he has not been at his best in 2010… but he did show last season that he can put it in for the team.
i am just hoping his crazy lack of backtracking and covering against manure and stoke were down to that mysterious everton back injury… and now he is fully fit and will work like a trojan for 90 minutes to protect our back four and distribute to the attacking players.
i actually expect to see eboue start right wing in place of theo or tr7.
That could be a good call SH. Much will depend upon Sagna’s fitness
We cannot be too gung ho today.
The oft repeated remark on here that Hull will be intent on kicking Arsenal players shows how little your lot know about your opponents. In fact only Arsenal have been fouled more times this season than City – journeymen footballers maybe, but FOOTBALLERS nonetheless.
I used to have sneaky respect for Arsenal but I’ve got to say I’m constantly disappointed by the inherent lack of class that runs deep through your club: Whining girls in defeat and graceless in victory. In the same way you hope we get relegated, I sincerely hope and believe that once again you’ll win f-all.
Nothing personal.
😆 SEETHING NORVERN MONKEY ALERT !!
HI paleface welcome, We may well be paranoid about some of the treatment we have received, but were you to list our impact injuries over the past three seasons perhaps you would understand.
Lets hope you are right and your team stands up and plays we will be the first to acknowledge that fact.
Please come back later and join in our after match discussion you will be made welcome.
Hi Paleface,
Thanks for your comment. Come back on after the game, and let’s count the number of fouls you commit compared to us. How many of your players have had their legs broken recently? I seem to remember S.Hunt kicking Cech so hard in the face that he’s had to wear protective headgear ever since. These ‘footballers’ you defend are condemned by their own actions.
Paleface, the statistic about fouls goes to show just how misleading stats can be. If you take into account the number of fouls that Hull have committed compared to Arsenal, you get a more accurate picture of who is the ‘dirtier’ side.
Point taken Denilson should be able to cope and EE in that role would be a gamble, Diaby should be able to play there aswell but guess what he sees himself as a No10. How many have we got 5 or more! At least with DB nobody else could have that role, finest ever!
As to the Hull brigade we only dislike you lot because of that manager of yours and his total lack of class.
Vermaelen should be named vice captain today. He is by far the lad you deserves it most. Almunia as captain makes me laugh at the paradox of having the weakest link being captain solely based on age. Vermaelen is huge and I am very impressed by everything he does, says and delivers, as if he has been with Arsenal for the last 10 years.
Well said Krikor, I agree. Arsène has used the captaincy as a means of motivating players before and perhaps he thinks that TV is always fully motivated whereas Almunia often seems to lack leadership qualities.
Agreed, Phil Brown sometimes doesn’t do himself any favours, but then God knows neither does your manager. However, with very few resources he took a team that – along with our unlovable neighbours Leeds – was about to be relegated to the third tier and not only got them promoted but managed to keep them up.
Regarding the number of fouls committed, perhaps an even more accurate assessment of how dirty each team is, would be a count of the number of stamps and off the ball incidents in head-to-head encounters. Football eh? Bloody hell.
Paleface, we have got off on the wrong foot here. You are obviously a bright chap and a true supporter of your club. If you had gone on to most other Arsenal sites and said you were “disappointed by the inherent lack of class that runs deep through your club: Whining girls in defeat and graceless in victory.” you would have met with a much more ferocious response. We are happy to have you on and to discuss footballing points with you.
Didn’t you think the fuss made by Messrs Horton and Brown about Cesc’s choice of clothing and apparently spitting out his gum in their diection was a bit pathetic – whining girls? I would also point out that another stat is that Hull have earned 4 red cards this season compared to Arsenal’s 0.
Rasputin it’s actually 3 red cards, one was rescinded. But that’s a fairly respectable return for a struggling team (mostly on the back foot, defending etc). Similarly it’s easier to have a good disciplinary record when you’re winning more than you lose. Incidentally, what was your excuse for the Arsenal disciplinary record of Adams, Bould and co? I also would counter that by reminding you that of our 4 previous matches against you, Nasri is the player who’s come closest (and if the ref had had any balls, he would have been) to being given his marching orders.
All I’ll say about the Fabregas incident is that Brian Horton is one of the most respected, best loved elder statesmen in the game and if he said something happened you could put your house on it. The resultant ‘unproven’ verdict was as a result of the CCTV cameras not working in the Arsenal tunnel. Hmm.
OK Paleface, thank you for admitting (even though you didn’t mean to) that you think it’s OK for struggling teams to foul more – that’s exactly the view that riles Arsenal supporters. Adams, Bould and Co. were players inheretited by Wenger and part of a bygone era that unfortunately still resides in some Premiership teams.
Even if Fabregas had spat at Horton – they’ve played the game, they’ve seen much worse – are they really that sensitive? It had more to do with deflecting attention away from what was a pretty poor Hull performance.
I don’t think I said that it’s ok for struggling teams to foul only that, by definition, struggling teams spend more time defending than attacking – it’s simple probability that if you put in more tackles then you’re more likely to get some wrong. It’s a bit convenient (and I think this goes to the heart of why people are riled by you lot) for you to only regard this incarnation as ‘the real Arsenal’. What happens when Wenger clears off and you get a more pragmatic bloke in charge who starts winning trophies? You’ll probably be slagging off Man U for playing tippy tappy football.
In the end it’s all about respect: respecting other clubs who don’t have the resources that Arsenal have and respect for how other teams have to cut their cloth accordingly. I’m sure Brian Horton has experienced much worse than someone spitting in his direction but probably nothing quite as disrespectful.
This is getting tiresome Paleface. Actually the majority of impartial fans want Arsenal to win the Premiership because of the type of football we play – it is only direct rivals and those who are jealous that believe as you do.
Tackling is an art and if your players are getting so much practice perhaps they need to improve. Stephen Hunt is a nasty piece of work and I’d bet that if he played for another team you would share that opinion. Actually, since you mention him, Tony Adams was an absolute master at tackling and picked up relatively few red cards for a centre back. When Arsène retires or moves upstairs, I expect another like-minded manager to take his place – we won’t be phoning Sam Allardyce.
Well paleface you will find respect on this site, different point of views are welcome. As far as Wenger leaving is concerned the hope is that we do win the league this year. Should we do so, the template for a successful club in the premier will we believe change more in line with our image.
Other clubs will be encouraged to invest in youth and a long term plan, for management as well.
In my view the Fat Sam school of football disrespects not only the rules but the spirit of the game itself
Now I have to take the gardener home, see you after the game.
Scores gentlemen and lady…..I am going for a 3-2 win to the good guys obviously.
get in 1-1 scott parker back at the bridge!!
4-0 to the arsenal, diaby on fire!
3-2 is a bit scary London 😦
I’ll take 2-0 to us please although if we score 2 we’re bound to score 3 😆
Thankyou SH I was just going to check that one 🙂
http://www.futbol24.com
flashes the score up instantly in real time
put it in your bookmarks.. it’s the only way to keep bang up to date with scores and scorers!
Another clean sheet for me. 0-2 will do nicely thank you.
eboue starts at RW
campbell keeps his place
and denilson replaces song at DM
and walcott is the most expensive bench warmer. merida and eduardo also on the bench.
SH. You are good at predicting the teams !
What was our bet again. AA v Diaby? Hope they both score….
tbf, walcott was dirt cheap.. we only paid 5m up front for him
he is far better to come on later.. if needed.
the bet is defo on BR
there is a bloody good chance both our bets come home to roost imo.
no rosicky anywhere, hope he is not too badly injured.
OK. We just need to win by 5 clear goals !!
I don’t understand why as we get closer to kick off I become less optimistic. Is it a North London thing?
Kelsey. He hobbled off on Tues. I expect it was a soft tissue problem.
hull are shite, if we do not win by at least 3 clear goals.. the players needs a kick up the proverbial.
we not only need to win, but we need the goals.. this title will be decided by GD.
Good attacking team we have today, and Hull have made 5 changes.
The BBC say it is a groin strain for TR
I hope not SH. that would be a travesty. Though f it were head to head we would lose out anyway.
SH. Just read your piece on football as art. Very good.
Why don’t you do a headline post for AA as well?
thank you BR, much appreciated.
i think it would be a great idea to do a piece for this wonderful blogsite… i think during pre-season might be the time to have one of my Hawke Rants.. go off on a tangent without having to keep an eye on the next game.
totally pmsl!!
watching the FOX sports stream on Veetle…
the commentator said ” there is the good looking jimmy bullard ”
😆
we need to wake up a bit, this lot are there for the beating.no fluency as yet on a bumpy pitch.
must have heard me. arshavin 😉
well in BR 😉
wonderfully taken goal
Those rugby league lines are disgraceful. Nasri is not stamping his authority on the game yet.
I hope Paleface took note of Sagna geting wrestled to the ground with an arm around his neckjust now!
i hate that bastard fagan
dirty rotten norvern BLEEP
Offside – crap linesman
OFFSIDE FFS
Persistent and premeditated fouling from Hull
def offside and no penalty. where is denilson and nasri. come on lads.
i would love to see fagan get hurt
i want to use stronger language
they are getting more physical the twunts.
Dirty fouling bastards. Boateng should have got a straight red.
fucking disgraceful
why nik get booked?
this is sick
filth
Spot on Rasp, Hand in Bedntner’s face is a straight red card in my book.
I am not sure if i would take a draw and no injuries because for sure they will try and chop us down every time.Having said that we need to get stuck in more ourselves and put this to bed on this bog of a pitch.
Their fouls look worse in the slomo replays. Thank goodness we won’t have to play tihis bunch too often. I would guess that the multiple fouls Sagna has been subjected owill keep him out of the next game or two.
We miss Song bigtime against these brutes.
What an appalling first half of refereeing and linesmanship.
Not a penalty.
The attacker was offside
Bendter’s booking?
Boateng should have got a straight red.
Clichy brought down in the box. Clear penalty.
Now Hull will get even more physical
Come on you rip roaring Gunners
I can see another red card coming in this game
Nasri needs to find some space
We’re playing with 10 men – Denilson is weak!
FFS We look like the team with 10 men.
COYRRG
Come on Arsene – make some subs, we’re not creating anything
Thats what I said rasp. I would bring on Theo and merida, they appear to be our bogey team unless we change things.
Eboue goes off strange and Theo on
We are missing Cesc
That we are Rasp
Right now Hull deserve a point
Are you awarding points for non-football Raddy?
good dammmmmm
theo argggh
too many poor no shows in midfield
diaby and den have been average at best
Eduardo is a shadow of his former self
Justice………..
That was way to close for comfort.
Are these boys trying to kill off their older fans? The stress is just too much 🙂
Still, the Great Dane did it again!
Did Eduardo touch the ball?
Was Arshavin on drugs? D
Does Denilson want a career at Arsenal?
phewww
we have the wind knocked out of our sails to easily after the penalty.
we got to keep learning to be resilient.
complete justice in the end though, the first half ref decisions were appalling… and how bad must they be if we are still saying that after THEY got a man sent off?
3 points in the bag.. we move on.
BR whatever Arsh was on, I can do with a bit of it right now. Next time can we win it easy? Please.
I dont want to say I told you so, but it was as I feared
Sol looked absolutely knackered, Denilson had a mare but we would have not won without his shot and I was shouting no at him as he hit it. What do I know?
3 points and we move on.
bottom line.
DD. But it didn’t have to be. We have a few players who have a fine shot on them… Diaby, Nasri, Denilson, Vermaelen – why not have a go. After all that was how we scored!
Oh & the ref was pants.
But I love an ugly win. & Brown must be spitting feathers 🙂
nicely sets up the big boxing fight over in dallas later tonight
beautiful stuff
just seen the bendtner finish again
easy to overlook… watch it again
the ball bounced up right in front of him.. a lot of strikers would have skied that
nik hit it perfectly.. banged it into the ground away from the keeper.
very cool finish
On another site, they are saying that he scuffed it and was lucky!!
I thought that he did superbly to get to the rebound first in what had been a very physically tough night for him.
Either way, Nik could be the man who takes us to the EPL ! What a turnaround in 7 days………
Any one else fancy doing the match report for a change?
no chance did he scuff it!!
i wonder what site that could be.. to suggest something so anti-arsenal
hmm
Could I have been much more right?
shit pitch
knackered from midweek
robbed by the ref
nicked the 3 points in the 94th minute
we move on.
Alan Green has just apologised for his early season comments about our chances of winning the league. he said he was completely wrong and if we do Spurs we will win the league
Crikey, what is the world comming too
London is right, not an easy game to write a match report let alone do the ratings.
No one was outstanding and i don’t buy this theory that the players are tired. never thought we would win,got lucky with the keeper spilling the ball (must have been watching Almunia)
Vermaelen was under pressure because Sol was getting into a lot of trouble.
Nasri as i have said before doesn’t travel well, yet he should be on a high and confident.
Nic was our best forward despite his misses, he got the 3 points. So he gets man of the match for no other reason.
We did miss Song and Cesc big time.
Of course the ref made loads of wrong decisions and we will be lucky Arsenal to the media.
Hi Jadders,
It would appear your view was correct in that it was a very difficult game and our view was correct that Hull play ugly over-physical football.
I am afraid I agree with you, Eduardo is shot,he just makes up the numbers now.
Where is mrs.Nuts ? 🙂
eduardo is not right for this system
said it many times before
he is no winger
and he is no lone striker
so where do we play him?
he is a pure 4-4-2 man alongside a big striker.
Over-physical? Wasn’t it Campbell flying in acting like sawcross?
Jadders – who do you support?
Yes Campbell came in at pace. He got the ball and didn’t follow through with the intent of injuring your (?) player or raise his feet studs up. The ref was right in front of the incident and didn’t give Sol a card. Boateng aimed for Sagna’s knee and should have got a straight red not a 2nd yellow. In fact, he shouldn’t have been on the pitch because he should have got a red for assaulting Bendtner. I counted 8 fouls in a row by Hull in the first half. They had no ambition apart from long speculative balls and try kick us off the ball when we were in possession.
Fagan and Mendy were guilty of persistent fouling too.
jadders, campbells feet were never high, his tackle was not dangerous.. a little over zealous..granted
but the twat who went off injured.. check how high his feet were… even orange man admitted as much on the interview afterwards… he came in like a silly poof and got himself injured
had he gone in with low feet like sol, he would have been fine.
By the way, if you want me to do the report can someone tell me. Thanks.
Evening aLL…
Well said String…spoton. Zayatte actually raised his foot over the height of the ball.
You’re always told in football, don’t go in half hearted or you’ll end up hurt.
not great performance today, but a fantastic 3pts and no better way to win at the KC than in injury time. Brown must sick to the pitof his stomach tomight
Really sorry London,
We’d love you to do the report. It doesn’t have to be an 800 word epic and we don’t want you to feel burdoned – but you are very good at it 😛
Looks like that’s that sorted then London… 🙂
I look forward to reading it.
Great post today Kelsey btw…
No probs I have finished the draft, it will be up at the usual time.
Hi Sharkey, good to see you around again.
Watching that was bloody stressful, I am just starting to calm down.
Does anyone know the correct spelling of Bendtner’s first name, I know in Arsenal.com they simply have Nicklas but I have seen it written Nikki and woundered if this was Danish spelling. BR what do you reckon?
it was stressful, but as sharkey states.. all that was negated, and then surpassed, when the look on orange man’s face was seen 😆
It’s Nicklas.
Just calming down. 3 Points nearer glory
New Job London. So only two days after meeting a few of the guys, I’m almost incomunicado
A2 is blocked at my new job and I never blog much from home.
Last two jobs have been a complete doss, but this new ones killing me.
Hi all, I was on my travels while the match was on but reading all these comments had me just as wrung out as you lot by the end.
Chelsea could only get a draw at their place and as Jadders pointed out their home record is pretty good compared to their away record, so I’m glad of a win that maybe we wouldn’t have got in previous seasons.
What a disgraceful looking pitch Hull have. More white powder lines than @ a Chelsea players night. There is no excuse for that.
Morning GG,
I’m sure you know that their pitch is used for rugby, but so are others and they manage to erase the lines for the football matches. With any luck, we will only visit it for the occassional CC match in the future.
Eveing Ras,
Yep knew that, Hull are going down thats for sure 😎
Good Morning you lot.
Can’t wait myself for Hull City to be relegated.
Last season did we not struggle on a Wigan pitch after a rugby league match, we were up in arms about how appalling it was and the fact it was manipulated to be in that condition for an Arsenal visit. Well i dont think that we won that match but last night the lads overcame those extremeties along with the usual thuggery employed by such teams. More evidence that these guys are all grown up now!
Morning all, glad that one is out of the way. I couldn’t let go of the thought that it was a potential banana skin. but all’s well that ends well, just have to wait and see do we have any injuries.
New Post
Shawcross – robust challenge results in broken leg. Interminable whining from the Emirates ladies.
Campbell – robust challenge results in opposing player leaving the ground on crutches. Not a peep.
