Welcome back RC, mon ami — ça va?
A useful list of the comings and goings – in this mad transfer window. Merci beaucoup. 😜
Tomiyasu?
Did anyone see that one coming?
RA / RASP and all…all ok here…i suppose everyone is quite upset about the season so far but we have to stick together as fans and support AFC whether we agree about the club’s direction or not or have different opinions about Arteta-Edu-Kroenkes…Ultimately, we all love AFC and we re fully behind our squad and we all wish Arteta a lot of success…that said, the soonerwe come around, the better
COYG!
Thanks to the bloggers for the kind words and show of support btw
Great work, thank you RC
We do have to stick together guys ………… they’re our team even though they currently have lost their way 😦
LB – Tomiyasu has come from Bologna where those who know me well will know that one of my charges has ended up playing at Centre-back. Do I want to know if he’s a good defender?
RC,
Arsenal are in a different league to PSG — obviously — but how can PSG refuse £189m for Mbappe in this window and get Zero next summer when he joins Real??
Umm – I thought Real were going bust?
Anyway, what happened to FFP?
[Nice to see you Peaches] 😁
RA I think psg believe day have a much better chance of winning CL with mbappe in side cause if dey let him go due would now have to replace him on short notice,
PSG only care about one thing and that’s winning the CL. They have a better chance with Mbappe in the squad.
I wonder if Barca would put a late bid in for Laca with Griezman leaving for Atletico. Probably can’t afford his wages tho.
Tomiyasu is very similar to Ben White…a CB that can play RB…he can also play LB so makes him also like Soares and AMN…
Anyways – Bellerin out on loan (it is official now)
The club is still trying to offload Nketiah and Kola
I find the AMN stuff interesting. Why does he think that he would get into the Everton side? He would only get in at RB in their side so why would he try force a move if he’s so adamant that he wants to play CM? If he was smart, he’d look at this Arsenal squad and realise that there is definitely an opportunity for someone grab hold of a CM position. Maybe if he put all his energy into improving instead of moaning then he might actually develop into a proper CM player. He’s horizontal in terms of how calm he is when he plays, but maybe he needs to show more intensity to get himself in the side.
RC,
Thanks for the post, something to think about.
FGG,
All the more players for galaxy brain to introduce 60 different lineups;-)
Actually like the profile of the new rb, but actually read that AMN told Arteta he would play rb, so who knows.
Two weeks to get these kids ready for 90 minutes and some attacking, win lose or draw.
With Xhaka out Arteta’s hands are tied, and he will have to play someone else there, if he plays Elneny with a just returned and not 100% Partey, might not even turn the game on. Naw, will just observe to see if he can get the team fire up to win a game.
AMN is idiotic can’t he realized from his loan spell he not a CM, probably je feels the like of xhaka elneny doesn’t do much in that position so probably he feels he could do the same
Good Morning,
2 or 3 years ago it seemed that AMN was going to be a top player, but somehow he was not good enough at CM — he then had a spell as Bellerin’s injury back up (Belli was playing very well at the time before major injury took his pace away) but AMN was a very indifferent RB.
It would be better for him if he was let go – maybe in a different team he could get his mojo back – or not.
@RC welcome back after your 2 day exile.
@Peaches can you expand on your Bologna intel? Is it saucy?
The usual ‘experts’ calling all our signings a waste of money. When I hear this nonsense I always wonder what Chris Sutton, Paul Merson, Jamie O’Hara and all the other genius ex footballers on TV these days would’ve said about Arsenal signings when Wenger first started at the club. They would’ve had a field day about us buying an AC Milan reserve player for £4m (Vieira), or trying to convert a Juventus fringe player from winger to CF (Henry). I imagine they wouldve creamed their pants at the opportunity to slate signings like Lauren, Toure, Gilberto etc. I guess it’s all part of this new soap opera that they’ve created around football transfers. It all feels very much like the American Draft Days now with players moving all over the place and idiots trying to tell us how good a player is even though they’ve never once seen them play. Merson trying to explain how good a Japanese defender from Bologna is, would be like me trying to explain the inner workings of the Afghan government.
Anyway, my point is don’t get sucked in by the negative rhetoric. It might turn out that we’ve bought a bunch of Cygan’s and Stepanovs, but there’s also just as much chance that we’ve found the new Vieira and Adams. Transfers are a gamble and at least the club have played a hand. We should praise them for trying and be excited about the potential for improvement.
Time to get behind the lads and see where it takes us. One thing is for sure, we can only go up the table from here!
