Come On You Rip Roaring Gunners ……..

Let’s start the day with a bit of word association. What is the first word which comes to your mind when you read the following….?

Highbury

Tony Adams

Arsenal

Thierry Henry

Tottenham

Gareth Bale

My guess is that the last two was less than complimentary! And that is all we need to know about the importance of today’s game.

I have been steeped in an irrational dislike of all everything associated with N.17 since childhood; the dreadful smell, the slime trails on the pavement, the hairy backed inhabitants, the guttural grunting noises and, above all else, the shower of excrement which purports to play football at SHL.

Most of my life the cave dwellers have been in our shadow. This is no accident., it is natural way of the world; anything else would be an aberration. There have been rare occasions when the fates have turned against us and the Miscreants somehow found themselves above us in the table but these were due to crass bad management of the resources at Highbury – nothing else.

My keyboard is set not to write this word but it must be over-ridden for the sake of this post – Spurs. OK it’s done. Spurs have spent a squillion over the years trying to finish above us in the table. During that time we have a new stadium – they play in a little shed; we have won Doubles, PL titles, Cups, they have won  doodlysquat.

Spurs have gambled on a manager who had a wonderful record before coming to England but is now struggling. One can only assume AVB had no knowledge of the rotten core in N.17  because he sure didn’t need the aggravation of having deluded fans telling him he is shite. I have sullied myself by going to THFC website’s, (needless to say the spelling and grammar is appalling) and the gist is this :- “AVB is an idiot because he plays Defoe instead of Adebayor,” the next day, “AVB is an idiot because he plays Adbeayor and NOT Defoe” ….. same blog! Spurs fans do not like AVB, they liked Harry, who was a crook and stupid (even if he is a dog-lover) – he fitted the club like a silk glove. AVB with his suits and his tactics and his intelligence does not.

We know their players … Cumberstone, MonkeyBoy, Ade, Lemon, WG, Conker etc etc. Dull, dull, dull. We know what to expect – a hard fought midfield battle with plenty of running and long balls to Lemon who cuts inside or crosses. They will not allow us the space we got last season. Should they lose today Spurs will continue their fine run of losses and prove their fans right – Let it be so.

Arsenal: What links Rosicky, Szeczesy, RvP, Gibbs, Song and  Benayoun? That’s right, they all started this fixture last year. So, we have over half the team replaced in a year. How can we achieve consistency with this type of turnover? Plus we have major injury concerns following the Interlull. After finding his form Giroud is struggling for fitness, as is Walcott, Sagna, and Ox. Gibbs is out which is bad news considering the speed of MB and Lemon.

My Team:

Let us assume Arteta, OG and TW are not fit, we could play

I really hope Arshavin gets some pitch time, he can be our super-sub.

Today’s Explorer. James Cook (1728-1779). Without doubt the world’s most famous beardless explorer and an absolutely top bloke. His list of achievements will never be surpassed. Just imagine it, you are on a little boat just 100 foot long with 93 others. That’s right, almost 100 men on a 100 foot boat. And then you go away through uncharted seas for years at a time, Cook not only did this but chose to do so many times. He led an expedition to map Newfoundland, then took the Endeavour to “discover” New Zealand and Australia (and Bora Bora) . The list of places he surveyed for the first time is too long to write here, but take it from a man who passed  Geography A Level (B grade) that it is impressive. Unfortunately Cook died in Hawaii at the hands of a rowdy group of inbreeds from the Paxton Rd End.

4-3-3  or  4-4-2  or  3-5-2?

This is a massive game for both teams who for different reasons are struggling (AFC because we are out of form and crippled by injuries, Spurs because they are rubbish). We need to win, we don’t need to score 5, though it would be nice, we just need to show this team has the potential to progress.

Lose and it will be Mugabe Lock Down for all Gooners.

    Morning Big Randy, :-)

Another of your special pre-match Posts!

I like your team, but I suspect there will be a much better bench than usual, if the rumoured injury returnees are available

  2. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Firstly,
    LB
    COYRRG ROLF

  3. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Raddy,
Like the look of your second team selection, and bloody love the explorer caption as always.
I like to go into games with no pressure. This is not one of those days. Today, the Lads and Manager earn their weekly envelopes.

  4. Another rip roaring match preview from “The Man”
    Great Stuff, back later.

  5. MAX says:

I would love to see poldi in the center today and give asharavin a full game.. Bcos poldi has to prove he can play in middle and ashravin want first squad place so they will 200%

  6. Thanks B-Radd, finally an explorer i know.. You can discover the beautiful sites of Sydney onboard Captain Cook cruises, and thats what ill be doing WHEN we collect the 3 points…CRUISING

Come on You Rip Roaring Reds!!

  7. LB says:

    Brilliant stuff BR

If ever there is a time when balancing the books, financial fair play, maximising the naming rights etc, means nothing, it is right now.

Just go out there and win Arsenal.

  8. LB, spot on mate..

On a side note, i would like one or two of the leaders in our group, to go and point out early to the ref, Bale’s knack of diving and cheating. I have noticed a few clamp down on Suarez’ antics and now sometimes its a case of ‘the boy who cried wolf’..but hey, not my problem..

By the way, who is our ref?

  9. @PPP
Webb is the ref, i’m sure he has knowledge of Bales acrobatics

  10. Big Raddy says:

They all like a dive. Lemon is as bad as Bale.

  11. Big Raddy says:

PPP. Where have been …. holidays?

  12. Hendon gooner says:

Brilliant post BR! If shezzer if fit he goes between the sticks.for all the good work that Mario has done in goal he has costed us points this season.I know most of the explorers you mention in the post my fav being David livingstone you did a few weeks ago.i grew up on southern African and Dr Livingstone was as famous as Shaka zulu!

  13. kelsey says:

Sorry can’t stay, will miss the game which is usually a good omen, but I have a feeling chamakh will come on just like bendtner did a few years back and score, and we will nick it 2-1.

  14. Adrian says:

The season is still quite early, but I already feel that this game will play a huge part in determining the fate of both teams for this season. Both the teams have had quite frankly a dreadful start (16 points from a possible 33 for us, 17 from them) and dodgy results the past couple of games.

Last season, we were 11 (correct me if I’m wrong) points behind Tottenham prior to the game at that wonderful game at the Emirates and it looked almost certain that they would finish above us at the end of the season and nick 3rd place. The game at the Emirates where the team managed to come from 2 down to win 5-2 proved to pivotal and became the catalyst for our season. Not only did it give us a huge confidence boost after some terrible results, it also gave out a sense belief that we could still finish above them. Tottenham were clearly affected by that game and their form went out the window instantly and their season basically spiraled downwards after that.

Therefore, this game is a must win no matter what as I believe it could set the course for the team for the rest of the season. It won’t be easy though, let us all be honest and admit the fact that Tottenham are catching up and are getting closer to us gradually. Nevertheless, with the players we have winning this game should not be an issue and is definitely highly possible.

  15. Adrian says:

    Prior to that wonderful game*

  16. Early kick offs are a nightmare!!!!!!!

Enjoy the game everyone, back later to chat I hope xx

  17. Hi BR, Holidays? I wish, and when that day comes, my destination will be London please!
I guess its a combination of two things. Firstly, i gave up on my timber flooring business and moved into a totally different field- transport and logistics, where we distibute all of Mcdonalds products Aust. wide. The new EBA has us working 14 hr shifts, so although it takes a toll its a case of money good, mi no komplane signor :-) Secondly, after joining up with the troops on AA i have realised and somewhat trained myself in the art of patience. I have come to realise that we have and will be going through a huge transition and that many sacrifices have and will be made.. I also found that whilst educating myself on here about all things football, i have slowly started to fall out of love with football but NOT Arsenal..Discovering things about wages, ffp, balancing this and selling that has all but left a little bit of a sour taste in my mouth, even though its now the nature of the beast!
I want to enjoy football the way i used too, when i was a kid.. and i have found that avoiding the media, (and being so far away) does help a little.. im still addicted to AA, its just i read all posts a day late except on match days.. The job front may change again, but my love for the Arsenal never will.. Keep up the top PMs Raddy, much appreciated, as are all the class acts writing on this site!

I so hope we absolutely sMASH them uneducated wannabes from silent fart lane…SMASH THEM!!

  18. Rasp says:

Is there anyone brave enough out there to volunteer a match report before the game is played?

  19. Oh yeah, to all you great gooners out there, where ever you may be, enjoy the game and keep the faith!

We are the greatest team in London, the GREATEST TEAM IN THE WORLD!

  20. 1 UMF says:

Good pre match Raddy. Im saddened to hear Giroud may be struggling for this one. I have been critical of him but think this is a fixture made for him. If he is fit and plays I think he will give the Spurs back line a torrid time.

Although I share your mindset of disliking the Hotspurs, but my biggest hatred is ManUre.

This is a game I managed to get to last season and boy what a day AND night that was. Lets keep everything crossed that we come out victorious today, its what the Doctor ordered.

Come on you f***ing lovely Gunners!

  22. GunnerN5 says:

TEAM NEWS: Szczesny returns for derby clash

Wojciech Szczesny will start the north London derby after recovering from the ankle injury which has kept him out of action since September 15.

The Pole’s return means Vito Mannone drops to the bench, while Olivier Giroud, Mikel Arteta and Theo Walcott have all been declared fit for the match against Tottenham.

Elsewhere, Jack Wilshere returns to the Arsenal team after missing the 3-3 draw against Fulham through suspension, meaning Francis Coquelin drops to the bench.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also returns from injury, but has been named on the bench.

Team in full: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Arteta, Cazorla, Wilshere, Walcott, Giroud, Podolski.

Subs: Mannone, Jenkinson, Santos, Ramsey, Coquelin, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Arshavin.

  23. GoonerB says:

Nice one Raddy. Running late from work so must dash to catch the game. Will catch up with you all later.

  24. 1 UMF says:

    G8 news about Giroud.
    COYRRG

  25. glic says:

Thank you Raddy for the usual exellence.
Where the f**k do all these injuries come from ?. At the beginning of the week, all I heard was how many injuries the Spuds had and how many players we had coming back from injury !. It all seems the other way round now !. Whats Giroud pulled ?, a T-bone in his knob !
It all seems amazing, when I think back to 1971, we probably used only about 14 players in 42 league games on heavy pitches with the likes of , Hunter and Harris etc tackling from behind, some players not even wearing shin pads and with no protection from Reffs !.
Yet nowadays they go down like 9 pins. They`d get less injuries by jumping blind folded and naked on a bouncey castle with a chainsaw in each hand than playing football !.

  26. glic says:

Above written before I see GN5`s team news ! hahaha

  27. GunnerN5 says:

Well done BR you cooked up another great pre-match report.

  28. slimgingergooner says:

Spuds playing 2 upfront with Defoe and Adebayor, hmmmmm!

    Should be interesting in midfield

  29. slimgingergooner says:

Maybe they are going to stick one of their strikers on Arteta, ala Man U. Can’t see Ade or Defoe doing that job though. I can see us dominating if they play a straight 4-4-2, but we must be cautious of Bale and Lennons counter attacks.

  30. Sav from Australia says:

    ARSENAL! For the win!

I had an Asahi 2L keg and I am pumped!

  31. Sav from Australia says:

Oh, sorry Big Raddy. Really good post.

  32. if FEO scores a hat trick today then Stan should dust off the cob webs off his cheque book ???

  33. Gooner In Exile says:

Come On You Red and White Dreeeeeaaaam Machiiiiiine.

    Thanks Raddy top prematch.

  34. Big Raddy says:

Good team. Probably our first choice 11 minus Gibbs

  35. Adrian says:

    Damn.

  36. Big Raddy says:

Bullshit defending from BFG who completely lost his man.

But I had been thinking we were getting bossed in midfield and need to get some bodies in there.

So far we haven’t got within 20 yards of their goal

  37. Adrian says:

Ffs get in the bloody game, almost went 2 down there.

  38. Let’s see how we respond.

  39. RockyLives says:

Can we have an attack please?

  40. evonne says:

    hey!!!!!!!!!!!!

  41. Adrian says:

Red for the dirty scumbag player, we have no excuse not to win this now.

  42. I’ll say it again…

I LOVE JACK> HE IS OUR SPIRITUAL LEADER AND IS KEY TO OUR FIGHT>

    Ps.. not yelling, just passionate

  43. RockyLives says:

Get off you filthy feckin scumbag.
As blatant a red as you’ll ever see.

  44. The boy is too fired up. Too bad. Off, off. Let,s make them pay!

  45. RockyLives says:

But I don’t trust Webb not to try and even it up.

  46. Big Raddy says:

Dreadful tackle. And Bayel should have got a yellow for attacking JW

    Come on Reds….

  47. RockyLives says:

    Brilliant from Theo.
    Brilliant from BFG.

  48. puRRRFECT maiden goal..TONY ADAMS spirit is stirring..LETS GO BOYS

  49. Gooner In Exile says:

Big Fucking German! We’ve got a Big Fucking German!!

  50. RockyLives says:

BFG had a lot to do on that header.

  51. GunnerN5 says:

    BFG = Big Frigging Goal………….

  52. we could rip them a new one if we revert to a 4-4-2 with pod or theo linking with Giroo and bringing on Ox for width..just an opinion

  53. Adrian says:

You have to wonder though, why don’t we fight fire with fire and push our line further forward too when we are defending? Effectively close down opponents space like they did to us the first 10 minutes or so.

  54. oooooooooooohh so close to supreme

  55. Gooner In Exile says:

    Get in!!!!

  56. puuRRRFECT BABY

    GLORY POLDI ALLEHLUA

what a great day out for those Germans

  57. RockyLives says:

What a clever shot from Pod.

His shots to goals ratio is so good.

  58. Gooner In Exile says:

Super stuff by Cazorla, lovely finish Giroud

  59. Big Raddy says:

    Fantastic Frenchman

  60. RockyLives says:

    3-0

    I love Giroud!!!!!!!

  61. FUCK THE TOTS

    I LOVE ARSENAL

PuRRFECT BABY, with Thierry in the crowd SUPPORTING i feel like the stars have aligned once again..

  62. RockyLives says:

    Whoops – 3-1 I meant.

    Great work from Santi.

  63. We could have some fun here.

  64. Adrian says:

Lovely attacking play from Arsenal, we haven’t seen that for quite a few games now. Theo in particular is ripping Tottenham’s defence.

  65. Adrian says:

This is the perfect setting to give them a real thrashing, 45 minutes more to show them what we can do at our beat, cmon you gunners!

  66. Big Raddy says:

RL. You have come up with a brilliant idea,…. all goals against are cancelled out.

    The Title awaits!

  67. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Absolutely superb…what an atmosphere
    Come on you Gunners……humiliate them

  68. Gooner In Exile says:

That is the PL and NLD summed up in 45minutes.

Adebayor deserved red no doubt, you cannot lunge at players off ground and studs showing, if he was coming in from side I might have some sympathy. But it epitomises what people mean by being out of control, as soon as you launch like that you have no way of avoiding contact, even if you the and make yourself small

  69. Adrian says:

Without a doubt Walcott and Sagna’s teamwork is the most potent one in our team, I seriously hope we can continue to see this teamwork flouish in the coming seasons.

Wenger, sort the contract issues out asap!

  70. oz gunner says:

smash them into the ground, what a bloody game. Adebayor…couldn’t have happened to a nicer bloke. Walcott is giving them all sorts of problems with his runs

  71. Big Raddy says:

Man of the first half – Adebayor. That is the second time he has scored at that end for Spurs.

Excellent defensive display from the Togo Terror timing his tackles to perfection and then having done his afternoon’s work goes off to a nice bath.

Top work Ade. See you back at The Ems next season for a repeat.

  72. Gooner In Exile says:

Don’t buy the red changed the game, the game hasn’t settled into any rhythmn by then, fifteen minutes on clock is hardly time for a pattern to emerge, they were not in control.

Sagna taking game to Bale again and Bale trying to hide on other side of pitch, won’t be surprised to see him switch wings.

  73. oz gunner says:

where are my manners, BR top notch as always!

  74. To all the doubters:- Theo is a world class attacking threat. Keep him and let him play for us. We must keep it tight at the back. Our superior football and numerical advantage could see us score a hatful of goals. Let’s humiliate the scum. Put them in their place. Always under US!!!

  75. Gooner In Exile says:

For me Jack and Santi are out biggest threats, them two mean that Sandro and Huddkestone can’t go and help Naughton and Bale.

  76. oz gunner says:

agreed GIE. It was always going to happen with Bale, it’s the Ronaldo way. If Sagna was getting the better he’d swap to clichy

  77. Gooner In Exile says:

Tony last year people were saying Wenger had signed the wrong kid from Southampton (should have been Bale apparently) what a difference a year makes.

  78. Gooner In Exile says:

  79. Big Raddy says:

Santi is unplayable today. The partnership with JW is starting to work and once again we are seeing how special the Sagna/Walcott combination can be

  80. RockyLives says:

Just read BR’s pre-match (at half time).
Always such a joy to read. Exquisite BR. Thankyou.

Now COYRRG!!!!! for the second half.

  81. RockyLives says:

    TC
Agree about Theo. But I think he’s going.

  82. Nice to see the goals being spread around. Who is gonna score next? Who do they watch? Kill them slowly Arsenal. ( score three more goals without letting anymore in.

  83. RockyLives says:

We’ve got to stop giving away all these corners and FCs.

  84. maybe its just me, but i dont see Jack lasting anywhere near 90min at the moment..Maybe we expect too much?

  85. PURRRFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

who are ya? who are ya? who are ya?

  86. Gooner In Exile says:

Team goal of movement and precision!

  87. RockyLives says:

    Get in Santi!
    Great work by Pod

  88. RockyLives says:

I think Adebarndoor may have literally kick started our season.

The lads are really enjoying knocking it about now.

  89. @ Rocky, and ManShitty are part paying for it

  90. Big Raddy says:

Time for some changes with Montpelier midweek

Santi for Ox and Ramsey for JW

  91. Good call Raddy. I forgot about Europe

  92. Look its mini-me Carroll

  93. goonermichael says:

    Are we doing well?

  94. RockyLives says:

    That was soft

  95. Damn, concentrate boy

  96. Big Raddy says:

I don’t like that. Poor play again

  97. RockyLives says:

    Get a grip Arsenal

  98. RockyLives says:

We don’t need to keep trying the killer pass – lets just keep possession for a while.

  99. RockyLives says:

    Damn.
Bit of “old” Theo there with that heavy touch.

  100. wake up.. its criminal to switch off

  101. Ramsey is a very soft player.

  102. RockyLives says:

    WHAT’S THE TIME?

  103. REPEAT BABY REPEAT

    PURRFECT

    Happy Dayze

  104. 5 minutes 2 Rocky

    Thank Dennis im a Gooner

  105. Could have been a rugby score

  106. RockyLives says:

    Hahaha

    Nice one PPP

  107. RockyLives says:

    Just the result we needed.

  108. Gooner In Exile says:

    5 different scorers? That’s a first.

  109. RockyLives says:

We always thought there were goals throughout this team GiE

  110. A luscious scoreline imho.:-). I am so happy!!! Let’s go from here!!:-))

  111. slimgingergooner says:

    Yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyes!!!!!

  112. Adrian says:

Cazorla and Walcott were unplayable today, bloody hell for the love of god give him the contract he wants ffs.

  113. MickyDidIt89 says:

I am going to have such a brilliant weekend
    Thank you Arsenal

  114. Gooner In Exile says:

Just a quick question does anyone know where we can find a confidence pheromone to spray into the crowd at certain moments. When that place rocks it rocks and you can see how the players are lifted, when Bale flukes it, it went quiet and allowed nerves to feed both ways. It’s when players need the fans most.

  115. RockyLives says:

Credit where it’s due – Howard Webb had an excellent game.

  116. Gooner In Exile says:

Adrian he was but there were still the occasional mistouches especially the two chances he had to shoot one on one, first tried to outskill and failed, second he got caught in two minds shoot or pass and took a heavy touch. That may seem harsh, but there are two things important….

    1) consistency, week in week out and minute by minute
    2) for £150k a week I want perfection.

  117. Adrian says:

Opps, add another player to that list, none other than Wilshere. Played with all his heart and is definitely the future leader of the club. I know this sounds a bit uncalled for, but unfortuntely the difference in class between Wilshere and Ramsey was obvious the minute Ramsey came on.

  118. Adrian says:

That was one bad touch the whole game, surely even Messi or Ronaldo can’t be expected to perfect every single touch in every match they play could they? Plus, wasn’t the “reported” contract that he wanted earlier worth around 100k?

  119. Gooner In Exile says:

    Courtesy of Carlito:

If anyone knows how to make this show as our page header it should be up there.

  120. Gooner In Exile says:

I forgot a third important thing. The best time to address weaknesses is when your winning and playing well.

  121. oz gunner says:

best thing is we can repeat all our jokes from last time!

  122. Red Arse says:

The guy who made a hell of a difference was Giroud.

He scored a great CF goal, ran around like a dervish, and was immense in the air in defense!!

  123. Red Arse says:

I just could not believe my eyes, that paragon of calm, gentlemanly decorum, Rocky, posted “Get off you filthy feckin scumbag.”

My, my, that will be three Hail Marys for you, you naughty thing!!

  124. slimgingergooner says:

Who says ex players can’t be loved!?

    I heart Adebayor!

    Fucking idiot!

  125. Gooner In Exile says:

RA you are right Giroud was very good today.

    Slim …. ROLF

  126. Gooner In Exile says:

  127. Gooner In Exile says:

  128. Gooner In Exile says:

  129. richie says:

I mean can anyone have imagined this headline before the game “Arsenal have Ade Buymeforloads to thank for helping to kick-starting their season ” I ask you could it have happened to a nicer character? This was one of those games where the manner of the victory wasn’t as important as the end result. Gooners will now enjoy the weekend! Yet again there was evidence that this team only needs to gel a little more because the ingredients are there in the pot all we need is for Arsene to season the broth and bring it to boil. Santi & Jack Theo & Sagna. Great finish from Giroud, and maybe a slight bit of a lucky deflection for the Pod but he was in the right place to poach a goal from another rotten character in Gallas. With Thierry looking on it seemed our stars were in alignment, now to push on, while hoping a few results go our way in the table.

  130. Gooner In Exile says:

  131. Gooner In Exile says:

  132. Rasp says:

I’ve just recycled an old banner from last season

  133. Gooner In Exile says:

    Anders has a Mo

  134. Gooner In Exile says:

Rasp well played, anyway you can get that gif on the site?

  135. Rasp says:

I’l have a try later GiE, gotta go shopping now :(

  136. Big Raddy says:

    Great work Rasp

Why were so many ex-players there today? Sol, TA, TH etc

  137. Gooner In Exile says:

  138. Gooner In Exile says:

    Bobby too according to twitter.

Red Bulls must be on break and Cahill must’ve come with Thierry.

  139. Gooner In Exile says:

And now for the overconfident Spuds tweets :)

    https://twitter.com/the_shepherd01/status/269366079296507904

  140. Gooner In Exile says:

Oh priceless …. One from Defoe :)

  141. Red Arse says:

They were all whistling in the dark, GIE! :-)

  142. Gooner In Exile says:

  143. Big Raddy says:

Are we ready to be critical about today? No?

    OK that was brilliant :-D

  144. Red Arse says:

Go on, Raddy, give us a clue!! :D

  145. Gooner In Exile says:

Today’s result proves my theory behind the league projection widget, starting point for comparing seasons should always be like for like fixtures. Today we gained absolutely nothing, it was expected :D

  146. Big Raddy says:

RA. Let’s leave it until domani and just enjoy sta sera

GIE as I said, it is the natural way

  147. Big Raddy says:

Villa 9 pts from 12 games.

    Hope Chavs sign Suarez

Hey guys, i just want to tell you all that my favorite way to follow the match is with you all here. I feel like i can celebrate or comiserate with friends even from far away. so thanks to all. Now lets look for more good results this weekend.

  149. Red Arse says:

    Agreed, Raddy.

I thoroughly enjoyed the game and of course the result, and you are right, I am just wallowing in the glow of a sterling performance, and any criticism would be unwarranted. :D

  150. LB says:

What a nice thing to say jnyc.

  151. jnyc says:

    Come on reading, west brom!

  152. Big Raddy says:

    Jnyc. Lovely comment

  153. jnyc says:

One of these days im going to come visit and hang out with you guys. Should be fun :-) ——- ok, we have the everton and chelsea results we wanted, would manu be too much to hope for?

  154. Big Raddy says:

Emirates was rocking today. Great to see.

A MU loss is always welcome, come on Norwich.

  155. jnyc says:

Ive just read theos post match comments, saying that he has shown everybody what he can do. Unless he is a great actor, i believe he still is open to staying. I say pay the man his money. And reward a bit of loyalty and improvement, if its not too late. If you put together last years and this years stats, its really not such a small sample.

  156. RockyLives says:

    jnyc
    Couldn’t agree more.
Sadly I think he has convinced himself to leave.

  157. jnyc says:

Rocky, its a shame if its too late, because i was one who wanted to sell him at least a year ago, and admittedly changed my view. Previous to today i was sure he had made up his mind, but this comment leaves a little hope now, if the club is listening. I think a surprise of his staying would be a rare positive in dealing with our own players. How will it look if he and sagna leave?

  158. MickyDidIt89 says:

As if things were not good enough, I’ve just seen the League Table. I had no idea vistory today would take us above them.
How can this weekend possibly get any better?

  159. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Raddy,
Why would you want Chavs to sign Suarez? He’s excellent.

  160. RockyLives says:

Have been watching Manure game for the last 15 minutes and only just noticed that BSR is playing (he just had his first touch in all that time).

No doubt he’ll score, although Norwich look more dangerous.

  161. Big Raddy says:

Because I dislike the Scouse and Chelsea will be buying another striker anyway.

So instead of signing someone from abroad they can weaken a team in the PL, just like MC/MU did to us

  162. MickyDidIt89 says:

    Cunning logic :-)
Sort of make way for a new central striker as well :-(

  163. MickyDidIt89 says:

I just love the idea that Rasp stuck up last years’ 5-2 banner to save making a new ‘un
    ROLF LAMOW

  164. Hello lovely gooners, what a superb day and I don’t even have to nag for a post for tomorrow because Harry succumbed to my charms and accepted the task as our third goal went in :)

  165. Just used the ‘what’s the time’ tag on an unsuspecting 15 yr old spud – he wasn’t amused

  166. MickyDidIt89 says:

One word on the atmosphere Peaches?

  167. MickyDidIt89 says:

Two is fine if you need an adjective, and your Mum’s out :-)

  168. MickyDidIt89 says:

Right, scrub up, then off out.
Damn its Good to be a Gunner
    Nite all

  169. Rasp says:

I’ve not been so lazy now Micky although the current header cannot stay

  170. MickyDidIt89 says:

HA HA Just seen the Cannon at the top. Superb :-)

  171. Rasp says:

Hi peaches, nice to see you’re safely home, I hear there was some trouble when some maggoty spuds infiltrated our strongholds?

  172. glic says:

I need some help please. I`m writing a book called, A Feeling of Deja Vu, it`s in two parts. Part Two is called , Arsenal 5-2 Spuds. Part One is the problem, any ideas ?.

  173. RockyLives says:

    GLiC
If you don’t mind I’ll just wait for the abridged version: “10-4 Good Spuddy.”

  174. kelsey says:

Today’s classic comment on LG :)

    BERMY BOY November 17, 2012 17:14:27

All morning trying to get the f**k on here.If it’s a problem with net fine if not fix this shit yesterday dammit.Shit all that bitchen i forgot my comment.

  175. kelsey says:

    Well.

I missed the game so that must be an omen. Read all the reports and comments seems it was a lively game.

  176. RockyLives says:

    Norwich beat ManUre.
Makes our defeat there look a tiny bit better.

  177. Gooner In Exile says:

Was thinking the same Rocky….another post Intl break win for Norwich, another 5 days of having time with your players for the less stellar teams, same for WBA?

Wonder how the blogs of ManUre and Chavs are responding to it.

  178. RockyLives says:

We’re 9 points behind the top of the table.
Not great, but could be worse…

  179. slimgingergooner says:

    RL

    1 behind Everton
    2 above Spuds
    4 above Liverpool
    5 above Newcastle

    Lets not get carried away!!!

  180. Gooner In Exile says:

Sagna getting good at the snub

  181. There is method in my madness:
    WBA v Chelsea 11/12 3-2, 12/13 2-1
    Arsenal v Spuds 11/12 5-2, 12/13 5-2
    City v Villa 11/12 4-1, 12/13 5-0

But the bad news is, my widget will show Norwich will be 4th if they continue their current swing (currently 56% improvement on 2011/12 results).

Had to watch the game with no volume due to being at work, so just watched the highlights on Sky.

Loved the Giroud celebrations after his goal. When he scores he always looks like a kid bursting with excitement and not sure what to do with himself. He’s just one of those players that you want to do well. Hope he becomes a star at Arsenal.

The Giroud song aswell sounded epic around the stadium.

  187. Gooner In Exile says:

Just thinking about Roy Hodgson’s two teams before and after Liverpool, left them both set up to do well without him he made long term decisions/transfers in best interests of the club and gave the next manager a good group of players to work with. Liverpool didnt know what they had.

  188. gnarleygeorge9 says:

5-2 Its groundhog day, again! Adebayor is the Falstaff of football, buffoon.

And on the subject of James Cook. Regal purple???? PMSL. Talk about a right royal bunch of chumps

The wheels continue to fall off the bandwagon

  189. chas says:

    Thanks for the pre-match, BR.

You got the scoring 5 bang on.

    Olivier Giroud celebrates his goal

    Lukas Podolski celebrates his goal

  190. RockyLives says:

    Gnarley
    1) hello – how you doing?
    2) what are you on about?

  191. RockyLives says:

    Chas
I think OG has got 7 in 9.
Does that make us a one man team?

  192. RockyLives says:

And how come you’re up so late?

  193. oz gunner says:

Great snub by Sagna, shame we don’t see that from players more often.
If only I knew a tottenham fan to make fun of!

  194. richie says:

Who can sleep? I’m still buzzing from the game and will for the rest of the weekend maybe even until our next game. It just warms the cockles of your heart to mash a spud! It’s Bangers & Mash for the rest of the week! Get it bangers (Gunners) Mash (Spuds) oh ok never mind.

  195. Couldn’t sleep. I had some mexican friends over after the game…
    1 tequila, 2 tequila, 3 tequila, FLOOR!

Now its time for 5. Seems to be a great number for us Gooners :-) Now, where are those mexicans?

    F**K OFFFFF YOU SPURS!

(how dare they sing ‘oh when the shit comes spewing in’)

  196. oz gunner says:

    Giroud:

    10 starts, 7 sub, 7 goals, 4 assists

Not bad at all Giroud. A few fans need to eat quite a large serving of humble pie. I’ll send a few dozen to LG

  197. They’re all on a diet over there when it comes to eating that particular pie Oz.. But i love the ‘good samaritan’ in you.. Class :-D

  198. richie says:

  201. richie says:

Hey whats going on I’m getting double posts? Normally word press flashes up that it’s a double and blocks it? At my end I’m resending because it’s not showing up as posted until the second? Gremlins I guess

  202. this was a very entertaining game, and it was great to see HENRY smiling and laughing and enjoying the good times!!

here is 10 minute extended highlights of the game:

    http://eurosoccerweb.com/arsenal-vs-tottenham/

  203. MickyDidIt89 says:

Alright day yesterday now I think about it.

  204. MickyDidIt89 says:

    ROLF

  205. Big Raddy says:

True Micky. I have had worse.

  206. oz gunner says:

a respectable result all round I say Micky

  207. oz gunner says:

It really is funny stuff reading some of the Tottenham stuff. Cries of not a red card, Arsene looks ill, and everyone jumps ship at Arsenal ect ect

    Ah happy days

  208. Gooner In Exile says:

Ok I watched MotD, dear ‘Arry was on there as was Vincent Kompany (which is a bit weird) and Hansen.

Right at the end of the analysis ‘Arry still managed to say that Spuds would finish above us, because according to him they have a better squad. Which is ROLF in itself. So they asked Vincent as he had played both what he thought. The reply “for me Arsenal are the best side we have played so far this season”. :D

Also we can add Cazorla to the list of players ‘Arry tried to sign.

  209. Gooner In Exile says:

Oz I think that’s called clutching at straws.

  210. Gooner In Exile says:

The thing about the snub by Bac is you can see how it affects Adebayor he is standing in the middle trying to gain favour and looking like a bit shocked, players have to shake hands on the pitch before game anyway I’d like to see us stop all the tunnel cuddles.

  211. oz gunner says:

I miss ‘Arry GiE, he was always good for a laugh. Hats off to AVB for trying to chase the game even with 10 men. Playing with 3 CB’s was commendable. Vertonghen looks like a mighty good player, without him last night I would have liked to see the scoreline.

The hugs ect are a joke. Save it for a beer afterwards. When it’s game time their should be complete focus

  212. chas says:

    Superb day yesterday.
    Battered 5pur2 again.
chavs and bsr’s one man team lost.
And I got to see the Buzzcocks again in the evening. Wow.

  213. LB says:

    Micky @ 6.48

    ROLF

  214. Big Raddy says:

All our strikers scored. The midfield is working well – did you see Huddlestone or Sandro in the game?

We still have problems at the back. Both Spurs goals were poor from our point of view and both avoidable, but to be fair Defoe’s movement for the first was excellent.

Would we have won without Ade’s assistance? Of course we would

  215. Gooner In Exile says:

Raddy Defoes movement was good but Kozwas last to react on backline, Sagna tried to play offside but Kozzer was already sweeping round, if Sagna had swept too I think we might not have conceded. Such is the BFGs leadership Sagna thought he was trying to play offside not caught out of position.

As for the second I think if it were 11v11 one of the back line would throw themselves into a tackle with Bale, but Arsene and Bouldie probably drummed in at half time “don’t give Webb an excuse to even it up”

  216. kelsey says:

    Morning all,

    Only saw the highlights.

Shame the non entity couldn’t play in their Home kit, I always thought they did when we played them.

lovely to see TH14 in the stands smiling when we scored.

I was pleased to see Lloris in goal instead of Freidal as generally he was a bit shaky (did make one good save from Cazorla) mind you our number though not a lot to do also looked shaky.

Must give Webb credit for allowing play to go on when Santi was tripped leading to a superb goal by Giroud and Santi has to be my man of the match, even his goal, many would have missed.

Defense still has to be a concern letting in 5 in two consecitive home games.

Next league game away to out of form Villa, and let’s hope we can overcome them as theses are the type of games when we get unstuck.

Won’t even talk about if it would have remained 11 v11 as there would be to many IFS.

  217. ……. New Post …………

  218. Romeo says:

My partner and I stumbled over here different website and thought I may as well check things out. I like what I see so i am just following you. Look forward to looking at your web page again.
