Seasons Greetings

In the past year we’ve been joined by Arsenal supporters from Africa,  Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and South America – only Antarctica to go. Whatever your beliefs, it is a good time to remember and be thankful for what unites us.

We are united by our love of The Arsenal and have forged friendships with people most of whom we are unlikely ever to meet; all made possible by the magic of the internet.

A big thank you has to go to Arsène Wenger, the players and all the backroom staff for giving us a team of which we can all be proud.

Merry Christmas and best wishes for the festive season to Arsenal supporters everywhere from all at Arsenal Arsenal

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all at AA.

I have spent many happy hours in the past six months since finding this site. It’s a good job I have a loving and understanding wife, cos most of my evenings have been taken up reading the great comments and wit.
We are blessed with so many superb bloggers.
The love of Arsenal brings us all together, long may they reign.
Have a wonderful day one and all.

It’s bloody difficult to put out a new post every day of the year and a big thanks to Rasp and she who must be obeyed for their endless effort and the diverse authors who make AA a joy to read.

I knew quite a bit about our team but I have now learnt to do my own accounts as well. :) and then there is Red Arse :)

Seasons Greetings from my family to you and yours.

It`s a most unusual Christmas Day here in Canada – it`s green – the 1st green Xmas that we’ve experienced here.

It`s nice and quiet at the moment but things will change later on – we are having 18 family and friends over for dinner and I`m doing the cooking.

A big thank you to Rasp and Peaches for all of the great background administration, Big Raddy for his great pre-match blogs and to all the other fine writers.

My day always starts with a cup of tea while I`m reading AA.

  10. TERRY MANCINI HAIR TRANSPLANT says:

The Premier League’s Most Important Strikers

Right, its Christmas, so I thought I would try my ‘Top 10 most important strikers’ and see what everyone else thinks. I have placed them in what I think is order of importance to their clubs. I know this will get, if published, ripped apart, but I enjoy the debate.

    10) Aguero: I have put the league’s second top scorer only 10th on the list because of the embarrassment of riches city currently have up front, with both Ballotelli and Dzeko in the top 10 scorers.

    9) Klasnic: Sliding under the radar, Klasnic is often overlooked as a player of quality and has been top scorer in an under-achieving Bolton side.

    8) Helguson: Devoid of a potent striking threat, the ageing Helguson has been a focal point for QPR’s forward line. Surely they will look to add to their strike force in January. Helguson’s seven goals have helped keep QPR out of the relegation zone.

    7) Rooney: Joint second top scorer, Rooney has rediscovered some of his better form this season. However, playing up front for United means he is surrounded by a higher quality of player, yet the ‘Arsenal’ injury curse that has hit United’s other forwards this year has given him extra importance, as his fitness and his welcome return to reliable goalscoring ways.

    6) Sturridge: Yes he wants to be a central striker, but he has become Chelsea’s top scorer in a season where Drogba, who is arguably past his peak, is keeping out a 50 million Torres.

    5) Adebayor: Adebayor and Parker joined Spurs late on and, as has widely been discussed, improved Spurs vastly. His importance is highlighted when you consider that he is only on loan, and Spurs will have to either sign or replace him next season.

    4) Holt: Norwich sit in 9th place, and Holt has been mooted by such marvellous sites as F365 as bringing back the traditional number 9 striker.

    3) Yakubu: Wha ever you think of him, he is Blackburn’s um, biggest hope? Relegation threatens but try and imagine the Blackburn predicament without his goals this season.

    2) Demba Ba: A one-man scoring machine for his team, similar to Yakubu. But his team sit just outside Europe and a considerably better player.

    1) Robin Van Persie: Tempted not to bother filling this bit in as it’s so obvious, but just look at Arsenal’s revival from the start of the season, and then look at their ‘best of the rest’ option in Chamakah as a direct replacement.

Merry Christmas to Gooners everywhere and most especially everyone who reads and contributes to this wonderful site.

My best present this years has been to make even more new friends via AA (even if I don’t get to meet most of them).

Rasp and Peaches – it goes without saying how grateful we all are for the work you do.

I can’t find words more eloquent than the ones Sharkey posted late yesterday, so I’ll just copy and paste them:

“I have loved this site from my very first visit.

I’ve now met up to 15 of you (plus siblings) and hope to meet many more.

I also feel fortunate to have witnessed many newcomers turn into site mainstays, and I’m glad to see that trend continuing…..

I actually get a little misty-eyed when I think how good this site is. The intelligence, the footballing insight, the incredible writing, and best of all the humour,

The humour on here ranges from highbrow comedy thru pythonesque farce, and right on to the sort of childlike lunacy that even the Chuckle Brothers and The Krankies would deem to be beneath them.

I feel honoured to be a part.

May many thanks to all who contribute, and even greater thanks to those special few who make it all happen !!!”

    Well said Sharkman

Silly Rocky gets mistyeyed, pull yourself together :)

  20. well said Rocky, Sharkespeare said it perfectly. I stumbled upon this site in March while bored one night looking at my arseblog mobile application. What a great read it was. Ever since i haven’t missed a post or comment. Thank you rasp and peaches for putting it together and setting the tone for the blog. It’s the perfect mix of people, so much so that i’m often retelling jokes to the mrs that G5, GLIC, and VCC have said, or telling friends stories from rocky, RA, TA and so many other great people on here. Thank you all for making this a great site to visit, it’s been a pleasure.

Merry Christmas AA’ers, i hope everyone has a bloody good day!

  21. Rasp says:

Hi Rocky, Merry Christmas, thanks for all your wonderful posts – you are a class apart.

Thanks for the ‘silly post’ as you call it, I’m sure it will be a gem :P

  22. SharkeySure says:

    Merry Xmas to one all…..

Oz and TA in partcular often compliment me on my writing, and I’m usually a little perplexed by their praise.

To have received such praise from so many for my soppy ramble is very very nice, but to have Rocky repaste the whole thing is almost too much. My heads spinning a little now.

Hope you all have (or had – Oz) a great day today….

Merry Christmas to all you Gooners.
Great blog, always an interesting read….
    Have a good one.

  24. Herb'sArmy says:

A very Merry Christmas to all.
I wish I was blessed with half the writing ability most on here possess, it is without doubt head and shoulders above any other Arsenal blog, thanks to the tireless work of Rasp and Peaches, and the many intelligent, articulate posts/comments of all the fine contributers.
I personally resolve to be far more positive in my support of all things Arsenal, it’s too easy to forget what a fantastic club we are, and it’s a privelige to be a part of.
I’m currently reading ‘Arsenal Stadium History’ by Brian Glanville – brilliant!
God bless you all, and everyone connected to Arsenal.

  25. A Merry Afternoon to AAers.

Hope all are well, it’s almost a year since first coming on this site. Had no idea it would lead me to meet many new Goonerish friends.

Thank Arsene for putting that weak side out at Wigan last Christmas.

  26. MickyDidIt89 says:

Must register my Christmas wishes to you all on the day itself.
So many thanks to Rasp and Peaches for all your hard work. You have created a very special and unique site. Proof of the pudding is that such a huge majority of regulars have met up, and continue to do so.
Back tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of the day one and all.

  27. Hope all my fellow gooners had a great Xmas day; like GLiC I have a MIL(who is certainly not award winning) to contend with today but not so much tomorrow and then the day after it’s down to Ashburton to meet up with so many mates from AA – led by AA royalty themselves, Raspers and Peachy.

A special huzzah for them, without who’s tireless work this fine virtual establishment would not be possible.

  28. TotalArsenal says:

A very merry Christmas to all the wonderful AA-bloggers :)

And I just want to repeat all the praise Peaches and Rasp have been receiving today. Without you guys this brilliant blog would not exist. You have provided us with a platform for like-minded Gooners to meet up and to learn from each other, and to support each other when things are looking a bit bleak. You do it only for the love for Arsenal and combine it with really busy jobs. So thank you very much guys, top top stuff!

Football is beyond science and I am learning things every year, but since joining ArsenalArsenal I have learned so much more, and it is all thanks to the great knowledge of all the bloggers on here. I feel 2012 is going to be a brilliant year for us with our New Arsenal, and together we can experience this promising year even better!

Have a great Christmas and keep rocking in a free world.

  29. Hi all

Hope you’re all having a really enjoyable day.

Its wonderful for Rasp and I to have so many great writers and bloggers to help keep the site going – thank you one and all ;)

  30. dandan says:

Merry Christmas to AA’rs wherever you may be, May good health and fortune follow you and your families throughout the coming year as Arsene and our wonderful club, continue to fill our watching and blogging hours, with the kind of pleasure and rapport, that is beyond the wildest dreams of members and supporters of so many other clubs, who are spending fortunes vainly trying to emulate us.
Remember form is transient, class is permanent and we have long been the classiest show in town.

  31. Rasp – are you there?

  32. Rasp says:

Morning peaches, sorry, I’ve put a spanner in the works ……..
